Hi

Do you have a working Gearbest coupon for this?

It seems to have shot up in price.

Thanks

I just got mine too.

I tried getting it from Taobao but they do not ship outside China. I do not know how much shipping and using an agent is so net I probably paid about RM 150 more getting it from Gearbest.

Can anyone walk me through how to set it up for use with TM Unifi? What do I need to note down from the TM router settings?

Thanks

Of course, I am running QOS, AIprotection, Google DNS and WTF gaming mode. That could be the reason. And I also notice that the Internet LED does become white after the upgrade - probably Merlin has corrected this issue.

IPV6 and Aiprotection - both running well under Merlin.

Still need time to play with it so that I can explore the whole potential of this router. I am speaking from my experience and I am very noob in this.

Hi Peguin78

What are the parameters to use for QoS and IPv6?

I am using Unifi 50Mb package.

Thanks

I think it is all automatic.

I am using adaptive QoS with automatic setiing and customise it. I have set mine with web surfing on top whilst File Transferring at the bottom. You should do yours accordingly.

IPV6 is on native and I am using googe DNS:-

2001:4860:4860::8888

2001:4860:4860::8844

Thanks

Do you mean 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for the Google DNS?

Also, when I enabled IPv6, my computer says I am joined to 2 networks at the same time. Is this normal?

Thanks

Yes. It is for Google DNS.

2 networks means one for ipv4 and the other one is for  ipv6?

I can't tell.

They are Network & Network 1. They don't differentiate between IPv4 & IPv6.

I restarted my computer and it's back down to on network now with a different name. It prompted me to say if it was a home, public network etc when it restarted so i guess it is treating it like a totally new network.

By the way, off topic but I found since changing to Google DNS, some websites I used to access have been blocked. the message says it doesn't comply with Malaysian regulations.

Guys - which region did you set for your AC86U?

Wireless -> Professional -> Region

Asia
China (Default)
Europe
Korea
Singapore
US
Australia

I am currently using Asia, but problem is that my 5Ghz wireless is not detected by some of my devices (Nintendo Switch etc). Most devices (iPhone, Mate 9 etc) can detect the 5Ghz wireless without issues.

This happens for Singapore, China option as well... I could set the Wireless channel manually of course, but just wanted to know if there is a solution out there

I left it at the default. So far everything of mine works.

Does it really matter? I mean aren't wireless standards the same throughout?

Hi

OK I have experienced an issue that I haven't before with the TM Unifi Innacom RGX 44000.

One of my computers, a MacBook with a manually assigned static IP address keeps getting periodically disconnected from the the AC-86U. The IP address is outside of the DHCP pool of addresses.

How do I troubleshoot why this is happening and fix the issue?

I have the AiProtection and Adaptive QoS prioritising web surfing enabled.

I also have Dual Band Smart Connect enabled.

Before, on the Innacom router, the MacBook would occasionally switch between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and both of them are prioritised on my Macbooks' Network Settings in Preferences.

Now with Dual Band Smart Connect, it only sees the 5 GHz network. Could it be that when the AC86U "smartly connects" the MacBook disconnects from the 5 GHz network, looks for the 2.4 GHz network, can't find it and hence just stays disconnected? This is just something that is annoying. Any help on how to fix it is much appreciated.

The other differences in settings from the Innacom router are as follows:

1. The Asus 86U is now using WPA 2 instead of WEP

2. The channel selection of both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands are on "Auto" with Dual Band Smart Connect. Before, 5 GHz was on "Auto" but I seleceted the 2.4 GHz channel manually between 1, 6 and 11.
