Cant advise you on the exact coverage. But for a typical double storey house 68U provides an adequate coverage.

As long as not using big courier like DHL, FedEx, you should be fine.

It's US plug. But UK adapter is given.

From my experience...

SEA Express = Kerry / ABX
SEA Air Line = Citylink

And ABX reaches faster than Citylink for my case.

finally got my ASUS RT-AC86U from tmall at RMB860 which is approximate RM533

anyone here can share all settings need to set in wireless.. i got the high ping responses as compare to my previous RT-N66U

I just got mine too.

I tried getting it from Taobao but they do not ship outside China. I do not know how much shipping and using an agent is so net I probably paid about RM 150 more getting it from Gearbest.

Can anyone walk me through how to set it up for use with TM Unifi? What do I need to note down from the TM router settings?

I guess AC86u is a keeper for the time being and 300 Mbps is the sweet spot. Just worry on its temps which normally hovers around 75'ish C. I do not use any cooling fan btw.

Thanks. I shutdown the router and restart the PC.  Did test on ookla and TM. Happy with it although why the difference :confused:

Not very fussy for wifi. My ipad can get 300++ so is fine.

Now trying to decide if I need to get fans since the router appears to run hot.

As I mentioned before, I have a dead AC86U from China. Really the seller or agent should help me to get RMA, but mine is not helping. With assistance from other lowyat users I got onto Taobao and used the Ali wangwang app to chat (in English!) with Asus Flagship Store. They gave out their return address and a telephone number. If anyone needs it, PM me.

The remaining problem is that they will only send the replacement unit to a China address and I don't know anyone in China.

what are the symptoms of overheating, since i've yet to see any issues with my current usage pattern.

my experience with 2x RT-AC86U so far :

- been using for 2 years, mesh wifi.
- always on 24/7, once a month off it on the weekends to go back to hometown.
- no issues except i have to run on older firmware (since the beginning of usage) due to newer firmware kept on having internet disconnection.
- devices connected :
---- 2 Android TVs (Netflix, Youtube, Astro on The Go).
---- 3 mobile phones.
---- 1 laptop.
---- 1 desktop, connected via LAN cable.

no torrenting, just some downloading perhaps ~10GB in a month (only for downloads).
