Haha, Gearbest will eventually sponsor you dont worry. Might even be a True 4K Xiaomi laser projector... (I have not heard rumors, but I am hoping it will be released. ) fingers crossed.

rm8-9k is quite a bit of money. I hope I get lottery first, then that could be something to buy. Plus the latest Tesla roadster.

I received mine on Friday. The tracing still said in transit up to Saturday. It's China version of course. I was worry the the item was fake since there is a typo for the supplied ethernet Lan Cable. It was spelled something like Ethymnet Cable or something. But when I checked the ethernet Cable for 68U- local set, the spelling was also wrong.

Gearbest provide an adaptor since the power suppy was a US version. But the power supply does not have the blue LED as the 68U and although it is an Asus power supply, it looks and feels cheap compared to 68U.

But upon boot up the interface was in English. There was no problem setting it up with unifi. Both Unifi Home and Business under ISP Special requirement were there. However, the internet LED remains red after I updated to the latest firmware, although i was connected to the internet. I have to switch the LED button on and off several times to make it lighted white.

Yesterday I upgraded to Asus Merlin 382.1 which gave more options to play with. I do notice that the temperatures on both radios and CPU are higher than 68U which i normally used to and the available memory is more less than half which is a bit of surprise. Of course, I am running QOS, AIprotection, Google DNS and WTF gaming mode. That could be the reason. And I also notice that the Internet LED does become white after the upgrade - probably Merlin has corrected this issue.

Coverage was better especially on the 5Ghz. One of my desktops is running on TP Link T9E. With the 68U, the max connection was around 877.5 mbps but with 86U I can easily get 1300 mbps. However, no so good on the 2.4Ghz. I could not the get the same speed as the 68U, although it now covers bigger area. I no longer need an extender for the same coverage area. I guess I still need to tweak here and there to obtain at least the same speed as the 68U.

IPV6 and Aiprotection - both running well under Merlin.

Still need time to play with it so that I can explore the whole potential of this router. I am speaking from my experience and I am very noob in this.

So since gearbest pricing was 169.99 now. So tempted to buy one since i had a power button mechanical failure on sunday on my 3 yrs old ac66u. Was looking for either 2nd hand ac68u or this ac86u.

Dilemma. Current ac66u unable to fully cover my house area. Im extended using homeplug wifi.

I am selling my AC68U if you are interested. :-

Can always PM me for the best price.

Cant advise you on the exact coverage. But for a typical double storey house 68U provides an adequate coverage.

As long as not using big courier like DHL, FedEx, you should be fine.

It's US plug. But UK adapter is given.

From my experience...

SEA Express = Kerry / ABX
SEA Air Line = Citylink

And ABX reaches faster than Citylink for my case.

Just got mine on 30th Nov, ordered on 20th Nov.

Overall coverage and speed is good, need more time to study on the configuration.
Previously im using RT-14HP which quite unstable to me.

AC-68U so far so good on coverage and speed after i manually pick the Wifi channel.
Do you guys set Wifi Channel to Auto?

I set my own channel. I use the least congested one.
