Did you guys think any significant improvement done on 76ers and T-Wolves rosters for next season? I think Al Jefferson and AI are not enough to bring the team to competitive level.

Bosh Gives Up Trying To Gain Weight
Chris Bosh has given up trying to intentionally gain weight on his 6-foot-10 frame after failing to add much girth despite his best efforts. "I think for the past two summers I was really concentrating on gaining weight and after I stayed the same weight, I just concentrated on getting stronger," he said here after a training camp practice. "As long as I stay in the weight room, continue to lift ... if I get stronger, I'll be good." Bosh's game isn't predicated on muscle, he's more of a finesse big man so adding dozens of pounds isn't a prerequisite. He's still able to defend other power forwards without being tossed around like a rag doll, a very big rag doll. "I think I'm just going to weigh what I weigh," he said. And that's about 230 pounds. Clippers Sign Dan Dickau The Los Angeles Clippers signed free agent guard Dan Dickau on Wednesday. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released. Dickau was waived by the New York Knicks on Oct. 1 after joining the team in a trade from Portland on June 28. Dickau played in 50 games last season for the Trail Blazers, making three starts and averaging 3.3 points and 1.4 assists. Iverson Sued For No-Show At Speech After Family Emergency Allen Iverson has been sued for not showing up for an Omaha speech. The lawsuit filed in Douglas County District Court says the Denver Nuggets star didn't come to a booked speaking engagement in August, leaving about 2,000 fans waiting about three hours at an Omaha high school. The event promoter, Dave Chambers, says Iverson's representatives said Iverson had a family emergency but didn't give details. Chambers and his entertainment group are seeking a refund of a $10,000 deposit plus $33,000 in special damages, including the cost of renting a plane and sending it to pick up the star in Virginia. Sixers Add McKie To Coaching Staff Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that 13-year NBA veteran Aaron McKie is rejoining the franchise as an assistant coach on Maurice Cheeks' staff. McKie will also have additional duties in player development. One of the most popular Sixers in recent history, McKie begins his coaching career after playing the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers . In 793 career games with 287 starts, he averaged 7.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.15 steals. As a member of the Sixers in 2000-01, McKie enjoyed his best season, taking home Sixth Man of the Year honors while helping Philadelphia reach the NBA Finals. That season, he recorded back-to-back triple-doubles at Sacramento on Dec. 30, 2000 (19 points, 14 assists, 10 rebounds) and vs. Atlanta on Jan. 3, 2001 (11 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists). |

QUOTE(bitterbutter @ Oct 4 2007, 05:15 AM) Did you guys think any significant improvement done on 76ers and T-Wolves rosters for next season? I think Al Jefferson and AI are not enough to bring the team to competitive level. Not all teams went through a revamp. Memphis was crap last season, and they still had nothing done. Gasol's obviously unhappy there, but there ain't much asset to play around. No young players that totally stood up. They might have Milicic, but his role is similar to Gasol. To have a good shooter/PG, Warrick ain't up to par, neither is Damon Stoudamire (wayy past his prime). Mike Miller had a breakthrough season, but his role is pick and shoot. No one to distribute ball, no defence in the team76ers..? AI...? Which AI...Allen Iverson? If that is so,THAT A.I is already in Denver. 76ers will have a testament season this time around, lets see what they can squirm out T-Wolves ain't about improvement, but its about change. They had their foundation wrapped in the lights of Cassell, Sprewell and Garnett. All at their prime, and maybe i remind you..old. That combination failed to materialize, and the next best step is to actually start a team afresh, and get rising stars. Jefferson was OUTSTANDING last season. His presence in low post was never easy to ignore. If there's one thing Wolves fan can look up, is their young players. The teams you should look out for this season - Portland (albeit Oden injury) - Seattle (Durants phenomenal) - Houston (A healthy Yao Ming + TMac + Scola) - Chicago Bulls (After an excellent post season, Luol Deng will reprise his role this season..again) last but not least, Boston Celtics, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce. If they can add a stable player that can distribute ball, Boston can swoop ALL team. QUOTE(sandcool @ Oct 4 2007, 03:24 PM) he always is the media attention I hate Isaiah Thomas. I hate his act, when his team lost the series to chicago bulls, they just left the game without going through the formal handshake whatever it is.do magics have the chance to reach eastern conference final? now only i know former heat coach is magics's coach His act during all star, to NOT pass ball to Michael Jordan because of the attention given shows his childish behaviour on and OFF the court |

Odom Wants To Finish His Career With Lakers
Laker forward Lamar Odom has been the subject of trade talk multiple times since the season ended, and even as recently as last week the talk has not let up. Odom, however, wants to remain a Laker. "I don't want to be traded, This is where I'd like to end my career. L.A. is L.A., and it's also my second home." The Pacers wanted Odom, but they also wanted young center Andrew Bynum, which was enough to turn away the Lakers. Minnesota wasn't thrilled about acquiring Odom in a direct trade with the Lakers partly because of his salary (two years remaining, $27.4 million total). More recently, the Lakers value Odom in the triangle offense as much as, if not more, than Shawn Marion, who wants out of Phoenix. Odom is again expected to be the team's second-leading scorer, top rebounder and second- or third-best assist man. He might come back with a little edge, as well. "He obviously wants to prove himself as a player," Coach Phil Jackson said. "I thought he was having a great year last year. He shares the game with players and I think that's a real important aspect of it." Armstrong Will Get $1.2M Contract With Nets Veteran point guard Darrell Armstrong will sign a partially guaranteed, $1.2 million contract with the New Jersey Nets later this week after clearing waivers yesterday at 6pm. Armstrong was cut by Indiana Monday. He received a call from Nets coach Lawrence Frank around that time and needed only two hours to make up his mind. "Darrell's very excited about it," said Glen Schwartzman, whose client also considered a return to Dallas. "He was very intrigued with the idea of going back to the Mavs, and they wanted him, but we just think that with Marcus (Williams) down for a little bit, it's a chance for Darrell to come in and play." Spurs' Udrih Breaks Finger At Training Camp San Antonio Spurs guard Beno Udrih broke his finger in training camp on Thursday. Udrih will wear a cast for a couple of weeks while his left index finger heals, and probably won't be able to do much for three or four weeks, said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. Udrih didn't have as big a role on the team last season because veteran Jacque Vaughn took over as backup point guard to Tony Parker. He averaged 4.7 points in 73 games last year. Yi Practices With Milwaukee For First Time, Dodges Age Question Yi Jianlian, Milwaukee's top draft pick, declined to answer whether he was actually 19 or 22 years old on Thursday, again dodging a question that's hounded him since announcing he was coming to the NBA. Yi's birth certificate lists him as being born Oct. 27, 1987, but he's long been rumored older. About 50 reporters -- including a contingent of Chinese media -- spoke with Yi (EE') for the first time since he joined the Bucks. Yao Passes Team Physical Rockets center Yao Ming, passed the extensive physicals he took Thursday morning, with the slight tear of the labrum in his right shoulder not considered a problem meriting concern. Yao had developed soreness in the shoulder last season, with the tear found in MRI's after the season. This post has been edited by EroS: Oct 5 2007, 03:31 PM |

QUOTE(Aztec @ Oct 5 2007, 02:45 PM) If i get enough numbers, i dont mind...but seeing how little discussion is being made, erm, ill see how many people are interested. I am in public leagues, as usualQUOTE(bitterbutter @ Oct 5 2007, 07:46 PM) Alright..that AI. Yes true, he can't bring the team to another level, they still need a superstar to do so. What this AI has is consistency and sudden burst in statistical figure last season. I won't be suprise if he brings HIS game to another level, but to bring the team to another level, they need a player in at least the ALL-NBA 2nd team. AI's going to be an asset, but erm, they need someone to bring them to another level |
