Race to the MVP - Overall Player Rankings
1. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
24.7 9.1 3.4 0.7 0.8 .499 .902
Last Week's Rank - 1
Nowitzki fired in 26 points Monday when the Mavericks knocked off the Clippers to clinch the NBA's best record. With nothing left to play for, coach Avery Johnson has decided to rest Dirk for Dallas' game against the Wolves on Wednesday.

2. Steve Nash, Phoenix
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
18.9 3.6 11.5 0.8 0.1 .534 .893
Last Week's Rank - 2
Nash has registered a career-best 50 double-doubles this season for the Suns, who have won five of their past six. The two-time MVP is averaging career highs in shooting percentage and assists.

3. Tim Duncan, San Antonio
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
20.1 10.6 3.4 0.8 2.4 .542 .640
Last Week's Rank - 6
It will be interesting to see if Duncan's Spurs (56-21) can catch Nash's Suns (58-19) for the second seed in the West. He had one of his best games of the season against the Warriors on Saturday, posting 28 points and 15 rebounds.

4. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
31.2 5.6 5.5 1.4 0.5 .459 .866
Last Week's Rank - 3
The losses continue to pile up for Kobe's bunch, who have dropped six of their past eight. Bryant connected on just nine of 30 attempts in Monday's loss to the Nuggets. L.A. (40-38) has fallen to seventh in the Western Conference.

5. LeBron James, Cleveland
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
27.5 6.8 6.0 1.6 0.7 .474 .703
Last Week's Rank - 4
Last week James became the second fastest player to reach 8,000 points, 2,000 rebounds and 2,000 assists. LBJ accomplished the feat in 311 games, while it took Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson 269.

6. Tracy McGrady, Houston
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
24.3 5.2 6.4 1.2 0.5 .429 .704
Last Week's Rank - 5
After missing a game because of a sore lower back, McGrady erupted for 40 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds against the Kings on Sunday and followed that up by tallying 27, five and five against the Sonics on Monday night.

7. Chris Bosh, Toronto
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
22.7 10.7 2.4 0.6 1.3 .498 .780
Last Week's Rank - 7
Bosh, who has scored in double digits in every game this season, has led Toronto to four straight wins. Last week the Raptors captured the Atlantic Division title for the first time and last month they wrapped up a playoff berth for the first time in five years.

8. Gilbert Arenas, Washington
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
28.5 4.6 6.0 1.9 0.2 .418 .844
Last Week's Rank - 8
Arenas had season-ending surgery Thursday on the knee he injured last Wednesday against the Bobcats. Agent Zero and King James are the only players in the league with three consecutive seasons of 2,000 or more points.

9. Chauncey Billups, Detroit
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
17.2 3.4 7.2 1.2 0.3 .425 .882
Last Week's Rank - 10
The Pistons, who are the only team in the Eastern Conference to win 50 games so far this season, have a starting unit full of players that could possibly crack this list. Billups gets the nod because of his ability to make plays in the clutch.

10. Carmelo Anthony, Denver
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
29.0 6.1 3.9 1.2 0.3 .476 .803
Last Week's Rank - 13
With Anthony, everybody pays attention to his scoring but this season he is averaging a career high in assists and has tied his career highs in rebounds and steals for the Nuggets, who are the hottest team in the league right now.

Of couselah, he can shoot 3 point and 2 point at the same time.
And he is also a good point guard.

Dirk can take shots like a shooter, he can dribble like a guard, i think it is what he meant...point guards, they usually playmake the game....so i dun think that makes him a PG

@virgil : though they are showing Clippers Vs. Lakers, but i would prefer watching Nets vs. Cavs...XD...

Dirk's shooting is pretty amazing, but I don't think he can dribble like a guard..
No matter how good you are at dribbling, at 7 feet you still have a disadvantage dribbling compared to guards.
