umobile is highly congested in setapak and wangsa maju sec 2 area.

Hey bro,

I believe it depends on the site bts ... setapak around PV128, some sites are smooth, some makes the blood boils ... Wangsa Maju near Alpha Condo was surprisingly smooth at the time ... maybe not like a rocket but smooth + usable ...

Heh ... Im not a power user+downloader+streamer, so what do I know ...

Sounds like you're trolling.... definitely not the case. Almost all the complaints here are klang valley residents.

Haha, Sorry for my noob.. I though KL almost 70% network coverage is stable one.
But sound like pcs of s***

QUOTE(UN1T3D @ Nov 2 2017, 04:15 PM)
Hmmm .....

Maybe you meant to say that U's strongest network is supposed to be in KV ... well, not quite so ... I went for a ride to Wangsa Maju a week ago ... U was smooth in Seksyen 2 WMaju but horribly congested near the WM exit to mrr2 highway ... that's just an example ...

If happened to be in a badly congested area then you'll have lotsa data but its not moving at all ... guess how many mvno is now on U ?
*
Ok, thanks for your advice.

QUOTE(stephantsen @ Nov 2 2017, 04:37 PM)
go for maxis if you can afford it if not then digi, they got internal booster in sky avenue genting.
what make you fall into the trap?
*
Ok, noted.
Wanna to introduce them XOX or Tunetalk. But heard that celcom network also not stable at all.

Then no choice choose either maxis or DiGi.

You already click Update button?

Yup, it opens the app store and the app store shows no update. Can't log in to check my data remaining, I know that I have less than 20% but I can't see the exact amount without the app.

Be careful with U Data Roam at the border states.

I was at Johor customs on Umobile 4G when it dropped me.
I was connected to Singtel and even though data roaming is off I received SMS I had activated U Data Roam RM 10.

I called the helpline and they informed me that as long as your phone is LTE and has roaming. Even connecting to Singtel activates the roaming.

They refused to reverse the charge.

They informed me the only way to avoid this is to manually select the Telco from Umobile 4G, Umobile 3G or Maxis; or disable roaming. Meaning at places where 4G is weak it won't auto switch to 3G or Maxis.

So just FYI not good for border states where your Umobile can drop and connect you to  a roaming partner automatically.

when your phone is registering to a network, a small amount data packets will be exchanged during the handshake. most malaysian telcos will consider this a valid data use and will charge you. if you are lucky, you will be charged data roaming per pay use and lose rm3-4, or if unlucky, the data use will activate a roaming package and lose rm10 or rm38.

xpax's recent data roaming offerings now will waive the first 10k of data. i guess they are acknowledging the issue.

Maybe depend on android as I believe is android itself tried to exchange data while data off and iOS didn't facing this issue.
Umobile postpaid seem will auto waive for the first 50k of data as my supp line got charge for RM10 on download 320K while free at another bill of 50k used.

i think it's how cellular network works. i got hit on ios too. this couldn't have happened if our telcos didn't start forcing auto data roaming on us.

Standard reply: get a prepaid sim card to test it out before you commit. Everyone had different definition of network quality.

if u can live with slower speed since it caps at 5Mbps, then yes worth. Note that any video streaming listed in their VideoOnz will be capped at 1.2Mbps as they force u to stream at 480p, but u can use VPN to bypass that if u have one.

as far as Damansara area, which part? damansara isn't exactly small. I'm using P78 as well, and in my experience, outdoor area is good, mostly 4G and some area has 4G+( not that it matters since our speed is still capped anyways ). Indoor it differs a lot and depends of the area has repeater installed or not. OneUtama is very good, and signal improvement seem to be massively improved in the past year. iSetan area use to have 0 reception, and suddenly, H+ full bar, then now 4G+. The other places I cant say for sure, but as far as I know, uMobile uses 2100hz for 3G and 2600hz for 4G, both are low penetration frequency( then again, havent update myself with latest changes so this could be wrong ), so u can expect indoor performance to sometimes drop a lot.

Thanks for the helpful reply. OU, Taman Tun, and Giza is my usual hangout place.
My friend told me the same story, normally get 3G and now seems to get LTE at highway road and shopping malls.
On side note in Kajang Prima area he also got LTE connection. Damansara and central KL should get LTE as well.

I wanted to stop auto renewal for UMI. Previously it was "unsubscribe" so I did the same today
Instead it stopped my current UMI30.

After taking another look at the options, I noticed I made a mistake. I should have selected "Stop Auto Renewal" instead of "Unsubscribe Immediately"

This is a silly mistake but why is there such an option anyway? Why would anyone want to stop when its already paid for? Doesnt make sense.
