How is the tax paid?  Is this thing deliver to your door or you have to collect from custom?  Btw, is the tax in Malaysia 15% for hifi equipments?

One more thing, where do the Axiom speakers really stand as compare to other brands in the speaker world.  Are they consider high end?

Fedex will let u know the tax amount, u ok, they'll clear and collect from you when they deliver your goods.

Axiom, as they r internet direct company, not high end but they believe with their performance on their selling price, they can beat some of the high end speakers in the market. We pay mid-end price for high-end performance tongue.gif

The courier co / logistic co will collect the tax from you if it si D2D.

If it is D2A, then you need to do it on your own.

Tax is 15% + 10% on the total amt (Price of goods and shipping fee).

Axiom is not considered as high end speakers. It is 'affordable' range of speakers and a reputable co in North America. High end would be like Martin Logan, MBL, Wilson Benesch, Wilson Audio, Klipsch THX Ultra 2, etc which could easily buy you a car or a house for a 5.1 system

Axiom ships door to door. I think it has been mentioned before that in door to door shipping the courier company will pay on your behalf first and then you reimburse them when they come to your house.

When it comes to speakers there are many expensive brands out there, where their stuff costs an arm and a leg.

One of the most obscenely priced is Magico. Their 'entry level' is the V2 which costs USD18k!!! Their bookshelf Mini II speaker is USD29.6k.

If that's not crazy enough, check out their top of the line Ultimate II at USD329k.

I am happy with my current peasant setup already. Next on the upgrade list would be 2pairs of Klipsch RS-42, a 1080p pj, and probably a power amp.

I think you terbalik the price. Malaysia is USD874 and US is USD780. How can Malaysia be cheaper than US? smile.gif

Anyway, Axiom's shipping is quite reasonable. Like in the case of the M60, the differential is only USD94.

mpyw, what is the shipping company that Axiom use to ship your speakers? Is it ship out from Canada? I was wondering how Axiom can have so cheap shipping while SVS shipping charges is so outrageous.

May be we can suggest to SVS to use the shipping Axiom is using and that would reduce the shipping cost considerably.
