Very nice room. I suggest you mount your screen a little bit in front on the beam then do a velvet curtain at the back just under the beam. I understand WAF so my previous HT room I do this. When I want to watch movie, I pull the velvet curtain to darken the room. Again the top portion of your pull down screen it's best you mask it. Cheap way is to use black masking tape. If not, find those velvet masking tape from the net.

even ur room is total dark, when the projector switch on, there will be alot reflected light from the projected lmage on your screen to your surrounding, this will make your dark is not dark enough unless your surround is in matte black and only ur screen area remain white or light gray.

The mask is to hide the letterbox bars on the screen. This will increase the apparent contrast of the image.

In a pitch dark room you will notice the letterbox bars (perhaps even more so). And even the best projectors won't project a totally black bar, so to really eliminate the bars you need the mask and velvet is probably the best material for it.

If you want adjustable bolder, then need to custom pull down curtain for masking. Cause movie come in 4 main aspect ratio.
