Xbitlabs

QUOTE
Advanced Micro Devices on Monday officially reduced prices of its desktop microprocessors, making dual-core chips available at less than $100 price-points and reducing the price of its top-of-the-range offerings from $999 to $799. The price-cut may boost interest towards AMD's microprocessors, but the fierce price war with Intel reduces both chipmakers' profits.

AMD just warned their Q1 will come below market expectation, with revenue at USD1.23B and going to resturcture.

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070409/advanced_mi...tlook.html?.v=1

Looks like price war benefits end users but not shareholders. I mean USD73 for a dual core is really a bargain.. smile.gif

I hope AMD will do better financially.. only competition brings better products at more acceptable price!
