I did not get any CD too. Those DVDs are Windows Vista Express Upgrade kit, in which the OS is offered by Microsoft, and HP responsible for the drivers and utilities since current drivers in my pavilion does not support Vista. Anyway, it is not free, I paid USD 19.99 for delivery charge of the kit.

You upgraded to Vista from MCE itself or did a clean installation?

Did the system offer repartition options during the upgrade?

How much did you pay for RAM upgrade?

I am going to upgrade RAM as well next week. At the same time, I am selling the stock 2x512 RAM.

dv6204TX? I never encounter this model, what is the specs?

What optical drive you all have? Mine is a Philips one and the firmware on the web is no longer valid. Some more the drive burn at merely 1x to 1.4x max even I insert a 16x Grade A media.

Guess what? I am going to have the drive changed since it takes almost an hour to burn a DVD.

Compaq Presario and HP Pavilion come with HP Imprint but different pattern for both. Good luck in choosing.

I bought 2 gb of RAM for RM 300. Aiks, was it easy to get your DVD burner changed by HP?
Quite busy these days, looking forward to pay a visit to HP tower next month to have my burner changed. LOL

Vista can use LAN. No worry.

Have you try connect it to HDTV? The DVs have no HDMI port, you connect through S-video? Any degradation in picture quality?

Simple way..call their toll free and activate it.

My DV6126 is now 5 mths old. It is still looks good and serves me well. No problem so far.

It can be media problem. Did you play original media? If you experience the same in original media playback, you can request the DVD drive to be replaced.

Note: I replaced my DVD drive 1 month ago.

Indeed my optical drive replacement was completed 3 days in HP Tower. This lappy always has its great look and performance.

I presume all users with webcam problem are using Vista. I did not notice any webcam problem with my XP media center. Maybe due to incompability issues....

u can purchase care pack at any time but the care pack will be more expensive than the same purchase within 90 days.

I own a 6126tx but didnt notice any lag in music playback.
