IMO, both the EP-630 and EP-635 use different drivers, as someone out there said they're the same.
1st, i think the EP-630 has a stronger bass, when compare to EP-635. I can feel the vibration in my ears stronger. At least won't hurt my ears badly and i'll \m/ Why i mentioned it won't hurt my ears? Because when i tested Sony NW-S705FBLACK during PC Fair, and the stock IEM hurt my ears badly. Yes, BADLY. About the vocal, i think its as clear as the HJE50, as i think HJE50 is quite clear and bright. At least this is a normal-built-type of earphone, which has a Y split and longer cord, which allow you to keep your portable source in your pocket or beg. While EP-635 got a hanging type of string that allow you to wear it like neckless and show off your source. The bad side is if you're bringing like let say MD or even worse you carry a CDP, so how are you going to listen by using EP-635? As the cord only 0.6m long. So its a bit unconvience sometime. I'm using iPod Nano 2g, so no problem with the hanging thingy. Overall, i still like EP-630 even a few hours burn-in only, while my EP-635 has N hours of burn-in. Bass production more, can play louder than EP-635. Which mean less power consumption. Which mean can be driven easily. Which mean its good for iPod Nano 2g, which is a poorly made iPod that can't drive lots of slightly powerfull earphone/headphone. --- All the above is my personal thinking only. If you have some disagree part, you can voice it out. Comments are welcome. |

I got original EP 630 (after getting the fake one ) for RM45 in lowyat not long ago.retail shop mostly selling for RM80.
During listening, I compare with Sony MDREX51, Logitech Playgear, Panasonic HJE50 & ATCK 32. By prices & sound quality, Creative EP 630 knock them all. Not only cheap, the sound is more wider (6-23khz ) accurate & has superb bass than EX51, clear MID's fidelity, and not too harsh HI's unlike HJE50. However the rubber caps is too small for my ears ;even the bigger size. So, I replace using EX51 rubber cap for maximum isolation. Blast!!! the sound is good, for the RM50 canal phone. |

IMO, Creative's earbud is very soft and comforatable. sounds very seal off. like every sound pass through a tube. EP630 is much more natural. comfort, isolation both about the same H260 wire is harder, less micro phonic effect, but EP630, touching the cable itself make m ear painful, as the noise, "dub" so loud at my ear. H260 overall not as good... |

QUOTE(lAh0S @ Apr 9 2007, 04:12 PM) Going to ask EFN mod for me. IMHO. sony earphone cable is same as the EP630 cable. what is the point of recable?I wanted to find white color cable now. Or else EFN suggest me to get a pair of Sony earphone(around 40 bucks), then he transfer the cable for me. both of them comes from Foster Electric Factory. =) same manufacturer. except if you want to preserve the colour. I'm thinking about getting one ep630 during this PC fair since it's cheap. But this micro phonic effect is making me think twice... I'm owning a she9500 and I think the sound isolation is acceptable, although the KSC75 has better sound quality (sound stage and clarity) compares to it.

Here it goes again, comparing IEM and Cliping Earphone is totally a different story.IEM got isolation while the Cliping don't have. This makes the two types of earphone different. So its kinda hard to compare. p/s: I hate KSC75, yet i love it. Dxxmmit. This post has been edited by lAh0S: Apr 10 2007, 02:01 PM |

Hello guys. I'm currently using Creative EP-480. I'm thinking of buying a Creative EP-630. Is it worth buying? Judging from what you guys said, the quality is a lot better than EP-480, right? One thing, in-canal earphones is something new to me. Is it more comfortable than conventional earphones? Will I have difficulties in getting used to it? Thanks.

not to say more comfy, since it plugged inside ur ear instead of hanging on ur ear..
It is a bit difficult to wear it properly at first, but then so easy after getting used to it... Worth to buy IMO, since in-ear itself is much better than normal earphone.. |

Thanks for the information. Guess I'll be heading down to KL Convention Centre to get it tomorrow. Besides, my EP-480 wire is on the verge of snapping already.

but sometimes I like EP-480 more than EP-630, EP 630 is suitable for noise isolation, QUOTE(tps18489 @ Apr 11 2007, 07:31 PM) Hello guys. I'm currently using Creative EP-480. Burning my EP630 needs a week, if you want to burn more play with Trubass 1/2. Bass somehow harsh, but the range is tighted unlike my previous Ex51. The bass through EP630 is 'honest' unlike EX51 which has an 'overclock' Basses
Suits with any bass player, Megabasss, , T-Bass, X-Bass and Bass-king Trubass.... just to remember, like the Mids, excessive Bass can affect your hearing |

Hello guys! I've just bought an EP-630 earphone from PC Fair. My EP-480 is still useable. Do you think I should start using the EP-630 or stick with EP-480 until it spoils? Can't wait to try the new earphones out.

i just bought the ep-630 yesterday...i wonder why there is no white colour?(except for the ep-635)...after i tested,the bass is mind-blowing to me(music from daft punk,nerd,chemical brothers,armand van helden)...haha...
but im a lil dissapointed with the mid, bcoz the clarity doesnt sound as clear/high as i thought(john legend, john mayers, jack johnson). OVERALL, i think it is much more worth it than the price itself. currently,im burning-in my earphone.btw, how long should it be burn-in to produce the best sound? |

I'm still trying to get used to the earphones. When I first wore it, my ears feel pressured. I also tried the smallest pair of earbuds. It felt comfortable but defeated the purpose of a noise isolation earphones since I could hear external noises.
rockdaman: When I got it yesterday, the earphones were on the shelf hanging. The salesperson told me that most of the people who came to their booth wanted to get the earphones only. It's obvious that the earphones were selling fast. Quite a few people grabbed the earphones while I was looking at them. |

OMG Pink Italic combo posting style, 1st time see, respect. Don't buy EP635 during PC Fair, it is RM119 right? At ALL IT, they're selling it at RM99 only. EP635 nice is because its a hangging style earphone. Mean you can hang it on your neck, and together with your MP3 player. But, easy to turn yellowish, refer to post 1 to see my yellowish EP635. p/s: Are you a girl? |

ahh..icic.. no case.
btw, wanna ask . when i listen to my ep630, my set my mp3 volume to the min.. 1st volume step also very loud edi, but when i use ksc-75 i have to put it almost medium or 40%. Will the thing damage my ears? as in because the ep630 volume i set it at the minumum also so loud edi, but when i set the ksc75 it has to be high .. its because of the noise from outside right? isit so the same amount of music is entering my ears? so the ep630 is safer? sorry about my crappy english.. . very sleepy now;. =.= |

youliang: just dont blow it out loud for ep630 as it may damage your ear. as for KSC75, i believe its normal to set a little high because its not IEM.

I think PCwork should open up a tread teaching them what an IEM is, hearing heart beat is normal etc etc and pin it up. This question has been repeated 100x times. overall the i love the headset...the bass it produced really good...coz i mostly listen to trance, techno and house music~~~ |

just bought EP630, from creative booth at pc fair yesterday..tho can get RM9 cheaper from lowyat..but genuine or not..theres a risk..n boy..
man..the build quality and the sound..for RM59..is stealing from creative honestly.. n performance to value ratio, CX300 would lose out 1 hit ko.. bass response was good and everything was as balanced as u can expect.. a great piece for that price..EXCEPTIONAL isolation compared to sony IEM.. beat the crap out of sony IEM.. a very sensitive can, i dun even need to crank up the volume to my usual std while in the bus..thx to the isolation n sensitivity.. i wish to get another pair honestly..just in case..ep630 was sold out in a few years to come..n in history there will never be such a cheap rip off creative.. |

I'm no pro in this audiophile stuff, but I did a comparison with ep630 and jensen cx300, didn't find any difference. I went to mediaplex to test ori cx300, can't test the difference. Either I should check with doctor or my ear rosak already

Our ears is the most important things compare to the other method. Aego M is RM900++--, so out of your budget, and don't ever think about getting 1. RM150, Edifier M2300. I think its a perfect piece for the price range, when pair with Philips PSC805 Aurilium(external sound card) la. Go LYP 4th floor Edifier show room and audition yourself, don't forget to ajak me when you're going there. Altec Lansing is better? Nah i don't think so. ATP3, which is around RM169 nowadays, is worse than my voice when i'm on a flu. Yerterday during PC Fair i really fire when someone ask me this. Me: Yes sir can i help you? Him: Nop just looking around. And he told his friend: Let's go see Altec Lansing la, its better. Me: Okay sir which Altec Lansing model you looking forward to? Him: ATP3 Me: Last time, 5~6 years ago, ATP3 is a god. But now? Dog only. Reason of the price is cheap because they cut down the component using and the quality of the speaker already. Him: Ya meh? Me: Don't believe? Come listen M2300. After a while when he finished test Him: I still think ATP3 is better. And he told his friend: Let's go to Altec Lansing, better. Me: You know why Altec Lansing better? Him: Don't know, why? Me: Because its famous. Because many people using. Because its Altec Lansing. He walked away right after i finish this. lAh0S, it's a mistake to invite "him" to test out Edifier during PC fair. Every vendor there was turning the bass and volume to the max and how do you convince people to believe that Edifier sound is more superior?
I guess the Edifier's customer you're getting during PC fair are those that have already decided to get an Edifier, rather than those "look-see-look-see". On my way to PC fair last evening, I saw two people carrying their new speaker. One is VS4121, the other one is Sonic Gear. Too bad that Edifier is not a speaker than can be tested/compared fairly under those PC-fair noisy and sound-polluted environment. |

Thanks to my gf. --- Those who're unlucky that can't get their own pair of EP630 @ RM59 faster go to ALL IT buy la. RM99(or something like that), before the stocks habis. got myself EP630 on the 1st day of PC fair after reading the reviews here and other website.
still burning in. so far still a satisfied customer. For RM59, its bang for the buck i would say. too bad the cable build quality is so so only and it doesn't come with carrying case. |

i tried the ep630 at the pcfair creative store, the sample for audio testing 1 i think have been spoiled already, cuz it sounds weird. But later my frez planning to get a earphone,so i suggested him to get ep630 due to his budget.
After testing the ep630 that my frez bought, the bass is kinda high IMO,i'm a ex71 user and i also admit that ex71 bass will have buzzing sound when i change some of the song EQ to bass booster..(ipod EQ) but i still like my ex71 better..maybe the ep630 need some burning... Besides i also have an audition on the zen aurvana, the sound is superb~IMO. but it a bit overpricing i think...if the price can reduce 50% i sure grab it~ This post has been edited by Trinity: Apr 17 2007, 08:03 PM |

RM59 for EP630?
Seriously, this is a steal. And, I read it somewhere here someone prefer EX71 over EP630. Even though sound preference is much to his own, but personally I prefer EP630 over EX71 anytimes. Yes, I have heard both and comparing at the same time using same player and same songs. EX71 bass lower down everything, Mid or High, which is what I dislike most. |

EP 630 produce more honest bass, while EX 71 likely tends to 'simulate' bass,

well.
i myself was planning to get the OVC or senn CX300... but from the reviews i read here, its not that bad for its price. so i bought one and i am quite fond of it. considering that it is pretty small and easy to carry around compared to the ksc-17 i have and philips headphone. it doesnt sound bad too OVERALL !!! I LIKE IT |

ah, well...
firstly, when I first tried the mylarthree, I told my self: "How come my EP-630 is still better than this one?" then I sit, asked uncle and tried the mylar-two "Eh.. this one even worse than the mylar-three"... Then I sit there and quite, then I actually asked another guy who is already using the mylar three, then he said about ep-630: "mylar-three has better bass".... Uncle said that it is your ears that is already used in hearing ep-630 all the time... SO, if u dont want to spend a lot of money, buy ep-630, and stick with it. Only when u listen to mylar-three long enough, then u can only tell the difference... Actually, so far there is not much difference with the EP-630... mylar-three have slight better treble, a bit better in bass, and not that muddy compared to ep-630... |

Attention all EP-630 user, quick question for you all.
Your EP-630 is Y-neck or J-neck? I got 2 pairs in hand now. 1 is Y-neck, which i get from PC Fair. 1 is J-nect, which is from oversea. Both sound the same, but the J-neck one seems like a fake to me, cause it don't have the Creative logo on the earphone there. |

I bought 630 along with a sony walkman, quite impressive, especially the bass.. But i was hopping to get 635 cause i dun want the walkman in my pocket but around my neck, but cant find a cheap one in lowyat ( RM 100++ ). Anyway, most shop got 630 but not 635, i wonder why, they looks the same to me ( i mean the earphone ), maybe 630 is much more famous?? Anyway, got hissing sound with the sony walkman, any idea to overcome it?? |

The top floor of lowyat, the one which sell like a " supermarket " one ( It occupied the whole floor , forgot the name, it use "carrefour system ") They sell 630 at RM59, soo, you can go to buy, but, its " supermarket", fixed price, no discount one... If you buy other things altogether, better go to a shop and buy, surely got discount. |

i am not so believe in burn in thingy anymore.
Especially when you are listening to it daily. Your brain will getting a little bit of acceptance to its not so significant improvement. Slowly the sound signature blend into your mindset. And it is forever in there even you don't know since when the sound signature is actually at stable preformance already. Unless you got another new pair to make comparison. And you can still remember clearly what you heard before 100 hours before. And Unless you are an true ultimate audiophile. But ppl will take your words as placebo effects sometimes. Get a headamp, it would definately give you a more & convincing Improvement from ur earphone. Instead of strongly depending on burning can improve the sounds. |

QUOTE(siowcharbor @ Oct 12 2007, 11:01 AM) Yes, its original, actually you can get RM50 if someone willing to bulk,For earphones, they normally raise the price 70% higher, or even 100% higher ( i saw RM 110 in lowyat, stupid price!!!! ), the reason is simple, like glasses and watch, you dont buy them often, so they plan to do one time business !!! |

QUOTE(dinodog_Jr @ Oct 12 2007, 01:18 PM) i am not so believe in burn in thingy anymore. wanna try a brand new recabled ksc75 VS burned in ksc75? Especially when you are listening to it daily. Your brain will getting a little bit of acceptance to its not so significant improvement. Slowly the sound signature blend into your mindset. And it is forever in there even you don't know since when the sound signature is actually at stable preformance already. Unless you got another new pair to make comparison. And you can still remember clearly what you heard before 100 hours before. And Unless you are an true ultimate audiophile. But ppl will take your words as placebo effects sometimes. Get a headamp, it would definately give you a more & convincing Improvement from ur earphone. Instead of strongly depending on burning can improve the sounds. haha some headphone, the different is big, but not all headphone will have that huge different. QUOTE(yuheng @ Oct 12 2007, 03:37 PM) dude, u listen to the pcdude burned in kimawe 27ohm 716, u will know how big the diff is before and after burn in that's resistor burn in. haha =) |

Took an EP-630 from my dad who got it with his Dell XPS laptop, currently testing and burning in with my iPod. I was previously using Philips SHE9501, well as soon as I used the EP-630, the huge difference compared to my Philips is the EP-630 has so much more power in terms of bass but I think the bass overpowered the treble a little, however this is really suitable for bass lovers looking for a budget earphones.

EDIT: Now I'm trying to drive longer it to see if it can sound even better This post has been edited by koayty: Jun 11 2008, 09:11 PM |

Just got mine from Neologian. I'm quite noob with this IEM thing since it's my first one. Any idea how deep we should plug the thing into our ear, and how to reduce or prevent the annoying tup tup sound when the wire hits my shirt? I cannot imagine working out or jogging with that thing since just walking with it annoys the hell out of me.

i got mine (ep630) last week for rm95
the bass is superb and i simply think its worth every penny if not worth more then you pay for those hesitants, dont think twice, go lowyat and buy. and if you go to the apple shop at the ground floor there you'll notice they're selling it at RM189 dont be fooled |

Yup, Lowyat plaza ground floor shops are mostly like that, selling at highly inflated price. Next to Apple store is another shop that used to be 'official' Creative store where I bought my Creative ZVM. It also sells the EP 630 at over than RM100. If you go to upper floors, you will find that if the higher you climb, the cheaper most prices at most shop will become. ALL IT located at top above floor, and I surveyed that most its prices are lower than shops that located 'lower' than ALL IT. This is basic economics only. All over the world the patterns are same

The EP 630 reached my doorstep yesterday and I've burned it around 15 hours. When first tested out of box without burning, vocal sounds hiss at high. Now it the effect gone already. The bass is stronger than my current Phillips SHE8500 (more expensive RM85 from ALL IT Kajang). What I like about this EP 630 is that I can listen it nicely with my mp3 player ZVM without distorting the equalizer. Listening to music as it is, distortion not required. This is so unlike SHE8500 where I need to modify the equalizer to make it sounds better. Usually I end up using 'pop' equalizer preset for SHE8500. In contrast EP 630 sounds awesome without using equalizers, presets, or bass boost whatsoever. Also alot more comfortable to wear than Phillips SHE8500 and has better cable too. Only the bass is bit excessive. All in all however, this EP 630 actually I bought as present to my girlfriend, not for my own use actually I'm getting Koss KSC 75 for myself anyway This post has been edited by Dry Pillow: Oct 11 2008, 07:12 PM |

Don't you guys find EP630 a little too bassy? Seems cool in the beginning but after about 1 hour or so, it gets too muffled.

Guess it's not considered a good earphone? Anyway, I kind of like the sound... sounds quite clear & of course the bass. However, after using for about a 2 months I suddenly realise there somthing missing from the sound quality. Don't know what it is cause I'm not an audiophile. Didn't realise this before...maybe it's because I was using the SONY MDR-EX55 - which I think doesn't sound good after using this EP630. Now thinking of changing. Any idea how is the new EP830? |

However in the world of internet shopping RM99's a little bit expensive. I bought mine in internet at less than RM60 (including shipping charge) and yes it is original according to other many buyers (and me). To be honest it is not easy to detect whether its original or fake. Try read some more on others EP630 user's experiences in this thread to get the picture of how the original sound quality. EP830 claimed by Creative Labs as premium canalphone. It is shipped together with Creative Zen X-Fi. So price-wise, if EP630 is a budget model, you can assume or expect better from EP830. Hard to be specific about EP830 sound quality as I have not found any reviews yet about it and not many using it too. |

QUOTE(Dybre @ Oct 24 2008, 08:29 PM) hi. i just got my new ep630. would the sound improve with burning in? what kind of songs do you guys burn in normally? Most forumers here burned their earphones with songs they normally listen to, irregardless of genres. Beside using songs, we also can use noises. The fact is headphone/earphone burning does only require sound or noise, not necessarily song or music. We can use white noise or pink noise. White noise is the sound that you hear when you turn on FM radio without tune in to any radio station frequencies. While pink noise is like white noise with smaller spectrum (I think, not terribly sure) and it sounds like when you standing at beach of an ocean. I plan to use white noise from FM radio to burn my earphone. Turning on my computer 24 hours just to burn earphone instead of listening to it seems such a electricity waste to me. Better use lower electrical consuming device such as radio. |

QUOTE(CLF @ Oct 25 2008, 08:29 PM) Yes it was meI'm suggesting it because FM radio produce white noise, which some claim the white noise is more natural than pink noise. White noise also fairly distribute all sounds frequency, from treble to bass. And the white noise from radio is natural because it is not recorded, not compressed, and at its original form, which unlike the pink noise that we downloaded. And not to forget you can keep using your CD player, laptop, PC, or mp3 player as usual, not constrained by burning session. Just let the old radio efficiently does the burning with original natural noise at lowest electrical cost QUOTE(CLF @ Oct 25 2008, 08:29 PM) Still burning the earphone, but now i've lost count how many hours passed..... I wanna compare it to SG EarPump. Maybe no need to be so precise how many hours you burned. I measure my burning hours by day instead of hours. Let say I left a headphone burning two days ago, I assume the burning is 48(24hoursx2) hours already. Just relax, the longer you burn the better, so just keep burning, forget about the time span This post has been edited by Dry Pillow: Oct 26 2008, 11:43 AM |

Charge the battery often. The battery lasts longer with partial rather than full discharges. Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days (ignorance). |

QUOTE(scy320 @ Oct 29 2008, 01:31 AM) Still cant compare it as I just burned it for hours, 10 hours I think? Still have to wait and see.... QUOTE(Kevio @ Oct 29 2008, 11:00 AM) Thanks for the feedback. Saw the EP830 selling more than RM150 (if my memory didn't fail me). Any idea if EP630 can still be purchase for RM60? If yes, mind to share where? Thanks. Also, can EP635 be purchase from internet at RM60 as well? BTW, the sound quality of both EP630 & EP635 are the same, right? The only difference is EP635 is the necklace type, right? Kev, you can order your EP-630 at RM 58 (include postage) here:Added on October 29, 2008, 11:07 am Huh?? EP630 comes with a pouch?? Not to worry, those on-shelf EP-630 doesn't comes with a pouch either, I've checked a few shops around. |

Been using it for a few weeks already. It sounds good, met my expectations.
No longer noticed the bassy sound, maybe enough burn-in? Or I've used to it already? |

As Dry Pillow suggested, use a radio to burn for more efficient energy-saving. Burn it on the computer can be quite costly in terms of your electric bill.
But anyway the result will be the same no matter what u use to burn in. |

White noise covers everything from bass to treble all the time. While songs sometimes covers the treble, then the bass, then the whole range, so the burning process might be slower than using white or pink noise.

From my 1st impression, EP-630 is kinda bassy.
Now it sounds better, after hours of burn in (like I said, really lost count alrdy)... Just wait and hear the result. This post has been edited by CLF: Nov 4 2008, 01:30 PM |

Just ordered my EP-630 from neologian today.
I'm not really an audiophile, but seeing you guys exclaim wonders after thorough burn-in sessions with your sets, I would like to experience that joy myself. Any tracks which you guys can recommend, in your opinion which you can clearly hear a difference after 'exercising' the IEMs? This post has been edited by colinwong89: Nov 12 2008, 03:59 PM |

Some say use the white noise in radio to burn in, but anyhow pretty much any sort of songs would do.

For new EP-630 owners, you really should burn in the earphone to achieve the best sound it can offer.

burn-in is the process where you let the sound to play through your earphone continuously for hours. For EP-630 case, most are >100 hours.
just simply plug the earphone into mp3 player, laptop or radio and let it run with the sound at audible volume for days. the result can be stunning. |

QUOTE(gwsa @ Nov 14 2008, 03:04 AM) ohhh...so...shud i burn my earphone now ?? as i used few months alraedy ?? Most importantly you don't need to be so strict or overly-disciplined in this burning matter. Burning process is simply keep your earphone producing sound. The longer the burning, the better the sound will become, there maybe no specific duration needed for burning. For volume just use your common sense and avoid too high volume that will damage your earphone, and there is no need to keep same volume all the time.doesn't matter rite??? burn how long ?? 100 hours?? 100 hours with same volume ?? continuously without turning off the player?? There is also no need to continuously burn without turn off your player. You can burn anytime at period length you like. Remember that you are also burning when you are listening. Since you do not have radio. then your mp3 player will be the cheaper source of burning. But then again, using mp3 player might exhaust its battery life (for certain type of batteries). Some forumers here are willing to turn on their PC for thousand of hours just for burning. Imagine how much electricity wasted there just for this burning thing. Try to get old radio or any radio or even el cheapo radio at pasar malam. It saves your money alot in long term |

Found my EP-630 waiting for me at my doorstep this morning.
All excited, I did the necessary checks, got my ready-waiting MP3 player and plugged it in to test out what all the fuss was about. I sat quietly, and took my time to listen to the various genres, namely vocal, techno, eurobeat, jazz and pop. All shared something in common: The mids to highs were severely lacking. The bass wasn't all tight, but definitely more agreeable over my previous earphones, a Sony MDR-E801 (don't bother looking, I got it bundled with my 10 year plus Cassette Walkman and I can't find any info for them at all). I was quite disappointed when the mids and highs in comparison with the E801, were almost the same. You could imagine my dismay that my early 1990s earphones performing equally over my new EP-630. Comfort levels were definitely better, them Creatives being IEMs and the E801 being standard earphones. My ear cavity used to ache after a while with them, but now with the IEMs it's a little easier. This most likely biased review came after a short test run with my friend's Sony MDR-EX85 earphones, yeah I know I shouldn't be comparing earphones of obviously different pricetags but you somehow, always try to believe that it sounds the same Burning in the EP-630 for a 12 hour stretch, hopefully it'll perform better after a bout of warmup. |

sorry for the late reply
i really mean fake one, i got them while in uk from ebay.co.uk http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-CREATIVE-EP630-E...%3A1|240%3A1318 i can tell the difference from the original easily cause of the buds, the fake ones are harder and doesn't feel like the same material as ori ones. then the cord was also worse than ori. i can hear more noise when rubbed against clothes, etc while the ori ones don't make much sound. but regarding the audio quality, i can't remember cause the fake ones spoilt a long time ago, don't have any more to compare. the cord connection at the 3.5mm jack was loose and tercabut. |

Haven't try out CrossRoads earphones but almost 99% positive reviews on them.
Anyway tight budgeters should do fine with EP-630. When you got enough funding you can explore better ones. |

I prefer IEM to clip-on earphones. At least IEM can somewhat cancel out the outside noise, while clip-on unit u cant really filter out much sounds.
Btw I tested a pair of Shure during PC Fair, not really like it though. Maybe is because it's worn out, or so. |

KSC 75 may be good but it doesn't isolate the noise like IEM does.
I think it is good for indoor or quiet environment, but not really for the outdoors. Now I prefer use IEM at the outside. |

Nope, EP 635 is in white only...It's pretty expensive though, considering the quality for EP 630 and 635 is similar, only that 635 has a neckband..there's a new ep 830 going around here..anyone tried it? can give opinion?
I finally got my ksc 75!! woohoo...sounds great and performs perfectly!!!!! Gonna try either senn 212pro or 201 soon...anyone any suggestion? I sold off my ep 630 dy lu..hahah..kinda regret though.. |

I would still keep earphones even if I got the new one, as backups or use it in different occasions.
Since KSC 75 not suitable to be used while moving around, so IEM would be a good choice. Get back ur EP-630, or invest in EP-830! |

haha, that is not a comparison, that is just a statement..
Eh, price does NOT necessarily justify the quality.. I guess the example with KSC 75 is self-evident..I've got a pair of em and may I say, what a pair of earphones..I'm planning to recable it myself soon and probably do the Kramer mod.. CX300 got many fakes in the market, so does Creative..So better put your careful glasses on before you invest your money.. CHEERS |

i read from this thread they post about identifying fake earphones. a good guide but MIC stuff can copy almost 99% of the original!
even with hawk's eye doesnt mean u can identify fake and ori immediately. |

Yeah true, but MIC stuff doesn't mean they're fakes though.. Because of outsourcing and offshoring business, most stuffs are actually made in China now..So the crucial and vital point to take note is whether the sound is to the person's liking.. Don't discriminate it because its MIC..because even Yuin earbuds are MIC right? so there you go

OK here's a brief review of EP-630 VS Bijou4.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ignore the right IEM, that's Sonic Gear EarPump. ![]() I used "Introduce A Little Anarchy" from The Dark Knight OST (320kbps MP3) via Sony Walkman. Tried to compare both side-by-side. One thing obviously noticeable is the volume. EP-630 is much louder than Bijou on the same volume. This may be a minor issue but I think Bijou drains the player's battery faster as it needs to increase the volume in order to hear at the same amount of sound as EP-630. This however, may be solved by using an amp. Since I don't have one now so I can't try it out. As for the BASS, both are considered bassy type earphones. EP-630's bass maybe stronger but it somewhat it compromised the clarity of the audio. It's like covered the treble part. Muddy, I suppose would be the term to describe it. As for Bijou, the bass may not be so overwhelming but you can hear the details better. Another song I used to compare both are Kitaro's "Matsuri (Live)" (256kbps MP3). The intro drum beat is suitable to determine how good is the bass. For Bijou, you can hear the detail of hitting the drum, while the bass is still there. EP-630 kinda lose in this comparison, it somehow sounds like something's covering the bass, how to say it.... just that it is not as clear as Bijou. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ So by this brief review, I'd say Bijou wins as the bass is not overwhelming while the details are still there. Given the price for EP-630 (RM 55~100), I think it's quite good especially if u get it at the lower price. Definitely worth for the money you pay. I'd recommend EP-630 for those who had tight budget, some ppl just dont want to spend too much on earphones. Some upgrade choices for EP-630. * Creative EP-830 (http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/935201) - 630's upgrade with better clarity & bass. * LEAR Le01 (http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/914036) * CrossRoads MylarOne Bijou (http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/776764) - one of the most frequently discussed IEM here. * CrossRoads HR1 or HR2 (http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=850712) - should be good stuff but they're not IEM * Philips SHE 9850 (http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=664579) - sexy pair of earphone, heard it performs better than Bijou! P/S: Posted this on EP-830's fan club, but it would be more appropriate to post it here as it's the 630's club! This post has been edited by CLF: Feb 14 2009, 01:48 AM |

QUOTE(kubing @ Feb 18 2009, 11:37 PM) yes it's worth to upgrade!once my Bijou is fully burned, I abandoned my EP-630! Bijou may not be that bassy but the clarity is much better than EP-630. alternatively, can try LEAR Le01 or Creative EP-830 for upgrades. |

QUOTE(andrew9292 @ May 2 2009, 09:33 PM) I reckon all those Creative EP630 are ori one no? Coz it's OEM from DELL lappy when you purchased it on9. It's just that those reseller don't give it to you when you purchase from them. That's why they're selling it cheap This post has been edited by chingwooi: May 7 2009, 12:30 AM |

some forumers suggested pink noise or white noise to burn in, further info just google about it for search in forum.
to make it easier, so let it burn through the songs you normally listen to. simplest way of all. and again, do not expect too much from EP-630 as given it's price it's quite worth for it, but there's still better earphones out there. :heh |

mine still works. bundled with my purchase of dell xps m1330. but the wording is all vanished now. IMO, the best in-ear earphone period. beats fischer audio eterna. tried both. prefer creative due to comfort and bass. eterna have comfort problem. need to look for replacement for the creative. where do they sell this aging product?

Wow, how come the EP-630 is so expensive @ RM109??
I got mine last time for RM8x + delivery, I live in East Malaysia and I thought it was expensive since my friend saw it at PC Fair at only RM6x (it was 5 years+ back then). Now I seldom use this EP-630 any more after I got my AT CK-300m, huge differences in sound quality. |
