Perodua cars, you are getting Daihatsu/Toyota platform, tech and engine.

Proton, ever since the shift to fully local designed cars, really dropped people's perception and confidence because dont have the cachet of foreign tech. (except handling by Lotus, which is still foreign).

But silver lining, Geely purchase actually make people optimistic about injection of modern tech again into Proton.
*
So? Nobody knows yet how long the new engines will last. But from what I can see, Gen 2s are still around. Jepunis means never fail? Jepunis quality has been falling in recent years. Lots of recalls.

And tin kosong is still tin kosong. Collision with Proton car, the Perodua occupants more likely to die. Malaysian consumers are funny. They value the longevity of their cars more than their own lives.

Geely is silver lining for Proton? Hmm.. I'm waiting for their response to the new Myvi.

Actually iriz not bad.  Most of the modern tech also got. Myvi can tutup kedai la.
*
If not for Iriz, there won't be Bezza and new Myvi. Perodua will continue selling old tech from Daihatsu platform. Old Myvi after so many years only want to put ABS.

But good job for new Myvi. On paper it looks to be the best for the price right now. Waiting for Proton's response... Probably the only thing that will keep them a float for now is Saga, Persona and Ertiga for those who want more space.

True, but at the end of the day, if you are talking about car ownership, then the major expense is the car depreciation and how well it holds its value in the market. Based on resale value and market share position, perodua cars clearly have a better image among malaysian consumers. Why is debatable, but the numbers arent.
*
Any review yet for new Myvi? I itchy want to test drive. But no real plans to buy. My Iriz just 2 years old. Sell now, after new Myvi launched, sure rugi. Better to use it until it dies. That's another way to get value out of the car.

Why Malaysians prefer Perodua is obvious. Because Proton fucked up big time in the past. And because Perodua made super cheap cars like Kancil, Viva and Axia.

But I can see, everyday there's more and more new Protons in Klang Valley. Different story in Kuching. Damn susah want to find Proton on the road in Kuching.

Aiya...why always talk of handling, our Malaysian roads and highways really not suitable for 'performance' driving la...dont tell me you were one of those drivers always suddenly appear on my rear end, light flashing, tail gate for me to GTFO??

Also...the more 'solid' the car...the more heavy...hence FC down ...
*
The irony is, it's always those Ah Bengs driving Myvi who tailgate people.

Today in Facebook group got another video of Myvi Ah Beng swerving in and out of traffic then langgar another car. Same goes to Jepunis sampans. Drive fast fast, then kababoom.

Real world results show Bezza FC not much different from my Iriz.

Again.. Life more important or saving a few ringgit more important?

My old myvi 2005 has abs. Hahaha.

Current proton design looks ugly to me but at least something else in the market.
*
I don't think it's that bad actually. Especially with the sportier body kits. Bezza.. No cure. Put body kit also still looks... Don't know what to say..

Ooh.. 2005 Myvi got ABS? The more expensive variant?

Not sure if KV is the same but that one is for proton in Kuching la.
*
Oh.. Ye la.. That day I go visit Kuching, really susah want to find Proton on the road.

But when I bought my Iriz, blue, red, green.. All have to wait.. Because cannot wait, go with silver.. Sigh.

But that day I go service, at showroom I saw Iriz color like that Persona black kinda brown color.. Omg.. So ugly.. It works on the Persona, but doesn't work on Iriz at all.. Wtf, Proton?

axia 3 cylinder.... where got pickup to cucuk one lol... new myvi 1.5l sure become King of tailgate. unless the safety feature (radar sensing) disallow it lol...
*
Malaysia boleh.. Buy car with less safety features but flying on the road. Tekan minyak kuat kuat, tailgate people who are following the speed limit, then complain minyak mahal.

Sure the first thing the Myvi Ah Bengs will do is remove that safety feature. Or they go buy their next favourite, Vios.

They claim 17km/l ma. It’s achieveable only for highway (in my case not highway just 600km road trip to north of borneo)

If in city then 12.5-13.5km doing grab.

Go back n forth to office about 14.5-15km.

Doing grab more consuming cause jammed all the time especially pick up n drop off at Vivacity mall omg this is nightmare i avoid this mall 6-8.30pm on weekends.
*
Iriz real world FC not too far from Proton's FC claims. City real world FC so far from Honda's FC claims, why no pipu complain?

Vivacity.. Hahaha.. My first Grab driver from airport recommended this mall. I thought to myself, go all the way to Kuching, visit mall for what? So many malls in KL until want to vomit. But my auntie want to visit. Haha. Then she said boring. Lol. Too bad Sarawak Museum closed.. Wasted Grab fare go there. The Grabber who drove us untung. Because then we side deal with him go Vivacity. But he didn't click drop-off at Sarawak Museum. Ooh.. Tak tau lor...

honestly proton got too many cars in their lineup... I seriously confused btw persona, preve, ertiga, iriz, flx, new saga,exora... what else?

one car for each segment is enough.
*
Ya, Perodua lineup much easier to understand -

Cheap, cheaper, cheapest, and fake 6 seater.

Is it?  Just eww

Recently proton pick up the skillset of china.
What model also can copy.

Lancer la,  accord la,  ertiga la, what else
*
Yup, Ertiga is a copy of a Suzuki. They barely changed the design.

Recently? Proton has been doing it since the beginning la... Copy Mitsubishi Lancer. Wira and Saga are copies of Lancers.

Only Iriz onwards they learn how to put what they learned from copying into making their own proper cars. But I think it also has to do with being in the European market. Iriz got quite a lot of European features. Like the door handle, u pull twice to unlock. Quite cool.

Your mindset is old school already.

What i meant,  you dont drive slow slow or fast fast just to pick up. Just press the gas normally and observe the traffic,  half way before the stop already release gas petal but dont press brake yet.  If you can estimate the timing ngam ngam with minimal usage of brake.  You will be surprised

No sudden accelerate or brake is the key.
Not necessarily rpm have to below 2k. Come on.  If you are myvi 1.3 confirm below 2k rpm better but you are city. Every car have their own fuel economy range.
*
Two thumbs up again. I really cannot brain why people accelerate hard when in front jam. Especially when I'm on my motorcycle. Even I can cut through traffic, I also start to slow down already. But the car behind sure tailgate, then overtake, then stuck in traffic, while I go to the front of the line. Put my life in danger for what? Damn kiasu man.

pull twice to unlock because no sensor?

Oooof.. Kalah liao.. You win. But my car much cheaper than your car, k?

How does the sensor work? Just put the hand there then can unlock?

I also cant brain.
Today I was fetching a passenger in kampung road,  suddenly an modified old low cost saga kept hon hon vroom vroom at my back. After cut through me dangerously shown me a middle finger, then i told the passenger "this driver mental got problem" and passenger agreed. Upon completion also kena tipped.  Teehee

While in my mind,  you are going to get 2 middle finger if i got no passenger.  Haha
*
Got one time I stop because in front got lorry wanna make u turn from the oncoming direction. Block my way. Then behind car horn. What the heck? When he come beside me, I horn him back. Then he show cibai face and drive like he want to block my way. I just don't tiao, no move my car. Then he speed off on the right most lane. I'm familiar with this road. I know my middle lane normally moves faster. So yes, in the end I end up ahead of him while he stuck behind. I see in his passenger seat got small children. Haiz.. I'm really sad when I see this kind of people breed...
