Ok let me share some insight with you so that you may think twice about your dream again.

If you really want to trade for a living, bank is not the place for you to learn especially in Malaysia. Most banks in the world make money in forex division by balancing the book but not directional trading (Especially US bank can no longer do directional trading when Obama signed the Dodd Frank Act). If you want to learn to trade, you need to go for proprietary trading house or hedge fund. However, they will not hire you if you do not have outstanding academic result from a top tier universitiesunless you have a few years of proven track records. What you study is not important because you need to relearn everything again if they hire you. Your academic result is just a proof that you have capabilities to learn and master things fast. Nevertheless most of these top tier students will eventually failed within a year because it is really hard to survive in this industry.

So if you are not highly educated (minimum degree holder with first class honor from top tier universities), then most likely no one will hire you unless you got a strong cable. Forget about attending any short term classes which claims can teach you the secret or technique to make money in market because none of them works in long run. Forex is a zero sum game so those who consistently make money in long run will never revealed their technique to you.

This means your only choice is self-learned and i believe you have tried to learn by yourself but still no success. Let me just ask you one question, how many many hours do you spend per day in just staring at the chart and think what it tells you? Do you have accumulated 10000 hours screen time so far? Did you ever count what is the probability of success and potential payout ratio when certain price behavior occurs? How many books about trading you ever read? Did you ever question whether the author is correct or simply just copy and modified from the same shit? If so how can you tell that they are wrong?

Beside from charting skill, do you have any other related knowledge about trading? For instance, chaos theory (not the one by bill william), behavioral finance, game theory, statistical and probability analysis, gambler's fallacy, programming skill, etc.

Let me tell you one thing, kid. Trading is the hardest professional in the world, only those who really pro can triumph in this line of business and there is no room for mediocre and lousy traders. The journey to the top is exhausted, dangerous and long. Be prepare to sacrifice a lot of things in your life if you want to walk through this path. If I was given a choice again i am not sure i will choose this path again because I lost too many precious things in my life in pursuit of the dream.

And yes, I am a quant trader. It took >10 years and >10000 hours of screen time and >10000 hours of reading for who am i today.

for 10,000 i think was not hard at all , for the first 3 year where i am crazy about indicator , then realize it was total useless , till now even sometime want to vomit seeing chart again. so many thing on your brain that sometime make research on new thing much complicated and without enough sleep sure brain cant think .
especially when you got a trade on run, it does affect your research due to emotional and these thing slow down the learning process . demo thou .

current learn diversified pair / diversified strategy / risk management < which was total wrong on GU trade above /
strategy was least important when compare to risk mngt then phscology. < i started to understand this phrase , this was what stage i am at.
( i dont believe in elliot , bat , fibo etc ) plain price , s/r , candle pattern<but not useful to overall trade , no volume< mt4 not real , timing .

Explain about diversified pair , i have few GBP that show LONG , but i just trade GU , althought timing to trade where diff , should trade all of them with lower percentage on each , it was GChf , GJ , which, one of them reach the TP , but GU not. ( limit risk on pair Gbp. )

i rethink about this quite few time , at first i thought 4 year will success , then 5 year , 6 year , 7year goes , we keep asking ourself should we continue. but i am still here. haha

Edit : alot of thing that not heard by retail , b book , news results were known before retail , real market depth level 2 up to 50 or 100level , etc these info that only bank , quant , prop trader can get . ( for level 2 market depth 50/100price it was provided for account more than 5 / 10 million usd , this person due to cable get it cheaper 1 million i think , but i not sure true or not ) he do get alot news and they can know which price were heavy trade with limit order , and rumor . but not all were true/success haha.

for reading , i read anything i can get before this , for the first few year up to 4 or 5 year , probability , psychology , strategy , etc . but not now except sometime reread reminiscene of stock operator , not useful to read further d . except some fact / research data that show probability of zzz . ( most were e-book that i search on google etc )
