The wallet buy/sell feature is great for selling fractional coins/tokens.

For example, you cannot sell 0.87843 XRP on the exchange, so you use the wallet buy/sell feature.

This morning I transferred SOL to my Luno wallet, suddenly i received dusts SOL to the same wallet from unknown address. As usual, Luno ask to verify address, but I don't even know who sent the dusts. Should I contact Luno customer service or just ignore the address verification? P.S. I have verified the SOL that was sent from my own wallet. user posted image

You seem to be the target of a crypto dusting attack.

Yes, report the dust-attacked SOL address to Luno and create a new SOL address by yourself. No need to ask Luno to create.

Thanks for the feedback, I will email Luno to report on the dust attack and create new SOL address. Based on my research, it's very common in Solana network. So moving forward, I think better just use XRP to transfer, which has higher volume than SOL anyway on Luno exchange.

Hello, I'm newbie to Luno and Crypto in general. I've been studying and research intensively this past months. I have question though, regarding Luno wallet. Let's say I bought SOL on exchange. Is this transaction recorded on the Solana blockchain?

I can't find transaction Id of this order and so I asked Luno CS. They replied transaction Id only available on Send/Receive crypto only. The exchange order didn't take place at the blockchain, hence no transaction Id on market order.

When I checked the public address of Luno SOL wallet (via Cointracker), it shows O. My Luno wallet (inside the app) show 1 SOL. I'm confused now. Anyone can explain to me like I'm 5? Thanks in advance!

My receipt of 1.52 SOL from KuCoin into my Luno wallet is recorded on the Solana blockchain.

I stopped staking SOL in Luno and sent them to Binance to stake for better returns.

The transaction is also recorded on the Solana blockchain.

Dunno whether the transaction is recorded on the Solana blockchain when you BUY SOL on Luno. I guess not.

Confirm buying on exchange or BUY/SELL feature on Luno is not recorded on blockchain.

See my XRP purchase on exchange above. No XRPL blockchain data recorded.

As a beginner, I feel worried upon learning this. What could be the negative consequences of not having it recorded on blockchain, if any?

I believe all crypto exchanges do not record their buy/sell/trade transactions on the blockchain.

Only send and receive crypto transactions are recorded.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. This is normal for most if not all exchanges.

The answer is obvious. Something else to ponder, what happens if the exchange suddenly disappears/bankrupt/MIA/etc.?

There is nothing to ponder. Not your wallet, not your coins. The same with your money in Bank accounts and why they have PIDM protection against the bank going under. E-Wallets don't have that kind of protection but the company that runs e-wallets will they you they are too big to fail yadayadayada.

Hi guys,

Need some help, just wondering whether any of you received this sudden notice of account closure from Luno.

user posted image

Thing is, I didnt receive the email on 15th Jan as they claimed. My last transaction was in May 2024, after which just monitor pricing only on daily basis. I have never also transferred any amount from external account, purely via FPX transfer i.e. Malaysia Banks.

Luckily this email came when the holding is positive, imagine having RED position. But I just wonder really, why they suddenly cut me off for no reason, and very short notice as well. Today notice for deadline on 22nd Jan 2025.

Any advise on how I could still retain my LUNO account - should I write to SC for support.

I also had a run-in with Luno a few days ago. See my post below.

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5504805

I threatened Luno with lodging a complaint with SC and they quickly released my XRP send to Binance and unlock my account.

I don't know why Luno is deciding to close your account but if you are aggrieved by it, then by all means, submit a complaint to the SC.

I attach the blank SC Complaint Form (PDF format) so you can fill that up before you email it to aduan@seccom.com.my with other supporting documents.

Good luck!
