The additional cabling for the other 2 floors is just via cat6 lan cable as you suggested, will TM do it for us or need to engage contractor or we can do it ourself? Btw, whats the use of ubiquiti and how it help? Tried googled it but dont quite get it. mine IT knowledge not so good, still learning from you guys. Thanks.
*
It will be cheaper to get your general or electrical contractor instead of a network person to pull and conceal the cables. That’s what I did for my house. My renovation guy did all that and I connected the wall jacks and crimped the cables myself. Some of them might be hesitant, just tell them it’s like pulling telephone cables.

If you have enough network points, pepper the house with low power APs, Mikrotik has one for RM130. New ones might be even less. I find many low power APs to be better than one or two high power ones.

The most important is that you get a good core router.

Is your STB connected directly by cable to your router? Maybe check see if got light indicating a proper link. Maybe ethernet port rosak or cable problem.

My cable is ok bcos i test it with my android tv. By the way the lan cable connect to router or modem n which port maybe i connect wrongly.tq
*
HyppTV connects to router. As others have said, could be port 4 or 1. Just try all of them and see. Which router do you have?

about voice std20, is it include free call to other network too or just free call to tm fixed line? Read tat few pages before but kinda confuse, i though theres another voice package with 600mins free call to other network.
*
STD20 is 600 mins free to TM landlines, all mobiles & all OLNOs (other landlines). After the 600mins, free to TM landlines only.

I don't think there's another voice package. If you mean "Voice Premium Calls (Barring IDD Call + 600)", that's not a voice package. Some think that this is referring to the 600mins free calls but it's not. It's a feature for barring IDD and 600 premium calls (numbers beginning with 1-600.)

So this just happened again after last weekend shenanigan (same problem like the video) where I called 100 to check the modem and the technician replaced it with a new one. I just don't know what to do anymore and why does this always happens on weekend where I'm home almost 24/7  cry.gif . Technician only works on monday.

*
Looks like a power problem. Or the modem died again. Do you have another 12V DC PSU to try?

Oh well, but very strange that the problem keeps happening. Could be power socket problem? Or maybe just a bad luck getting another flaky modem. This one was just replaced last week right? What about the previous one?

mikrotik what model?
*
Any model. This one is an old RB750GL from 2011.
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=87590276

Current RB750Gr3 is good enough for 500Mbps if not 1Gbps.

As pointed out.. Can't see nothing with https and or VPN.. It's simply how routers are built. What you should be looking for is a tool that enables MITM attacks between the client and the router. Obviously, you won't be getting such answers here..  shakehead.gif
*
VPN yes, HTTPS, you can still see which domain they're going to but that's all.

What OP needs is a Squid proxy with SSLBump.

Helllo everyone, just want to ask,i heard the new unifi advance/Pro have asymmetric bandwidth, compared to old vip which is symmetric bandwidth and you infernet speed is atleast 80% while downloading and upload at all time.and what is your avg speed while downloading and upload at same time for 30mbps unifi?.
*
30mbps previously then 50 and now 100, always full speed simultaneously in both directions. But I suppose that would depend on your area and whether you're on Fibre or VDSL.

*
No problem lah, just buy something with a step-by-step guide to setup your unifi. Like a Mikrotik RB750Gr3. smile.gif
Guide is in my .sig.

But for Unifi TV to work...  only can use LAN cable....so how to use router with LAN? can? Thank ...
*
You mean you only have one cable and want to push internet and HyppTV through it? Can. Something like this. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=87871705

The red segment in the diagram can be lan cable, homeplug or even wifi.

Just keep quiet and see how. After my RM10 RYE100 upgrade to RM189/month on 27 Nov, I was charged less than expected for 2 months in a row. How they calculate, I've no idea.

28 Nov 2017: RM181.84
28 Dec 2017: RM150.66
28 Jan 2018: RM189
28 Feb 2018: RM189

currently using D-Link DIR850L from TM. is there any way to request change router to TP-Link Archer C1200??

or is there any better router thats affordable in the market?
*
The C1200 is getting a really bad rep from a highly deficient firmware.
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4497511/all

Personally I'd stick with the DIR-850L.

Better options would be Mikrotik. Wifi routers starts at an affordable RM110. Routers from RM260.

How to know if router is entry level or is for heavy users ?
*
Retail price for one thing. Within the same brand and it’s current product line-up, the lower priced ones can be considered entry level. the model number too.

Also a freebie tends to be in the cheap category.

But entry level doesn’t have to mean poor in performance. For example, the RB750Gr3 is entry level and ideal for heavy users (by home user standards.)

Bro, have you seen this? Just something to keep in mind as you have MikroTik products: https://www.wired.com/story/router-hacking-...an-100-targets/

For a more in depth: https://arstechnica.com/information-technol...hrough-routers/
*
Yeah, thanks for that. I was reading about this a few days ago. It's non-news really.

In order for the above attack to work, ie: for the DLL to installed from the Mikrotik router to one's PC, one needs to be running Winbox v2. Winbox v3 which doesn't download any files from the router was available 2014 and released in 2015.

How the malicious DLL got into the router is anybody's guess. Maybe unsecured Mikrotiks with default passwords, plenty of that around. Perhaps an intercepted shipment of routers with the malware inserted and then sent on its merry way, I think CIA did this with a bunch of Cisco or Juniper routers. Or possibly a more exotic vector such as NSA/CIA's YipChiMay exploit.

Dunno why, now I feel like eating tai pow.
