Updates.
Technician came and said my " TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N WiFi UniFi / HyppTV / Maxis Fibre WiFi Router TL-WR841N 2x5dbi Antenna" is old and is limiting my speed via wifi.
They were good honest bros and did not force me to buy anything.
While I think is good that I get a new router, I find it strange that the TP-Link 300Mbps is the problem.
*
Not sure about this TPLink but even the old DIR-615 can handle 50mbps and more. Are you testing wired or wifi?

Does anyone know how to reserve ip address for devices using TRG212m router? Thanks
*
I don't think you can. This is for the RG4332 which is very similar to the TRG212M. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3995862/all

should i request to get the Ruby pack and Jumbo ?
or just let it be ?
Pls advise...

thanks ...

What do you have now? For me, I already had the Ruby pack before the RM10 upgrade and the Jumbo pack was added as part of that upgrade. Jumbo is better of course.

I just received my first bill after they upgrade my plan to
RYE 100Mbps.

I don't really understand what are they billing me.
...
*
Mine also after upgrade to RYE100 don’t understand the bill. The only difference is that I was charged less, instead of more like most of you, for 2 bills after my upgrade. First was less around RM10. 2nd bill was almost RM30 less. Now waiting for 3rd bill to see what’s going on.

Now i dont want pay early liao. 1 day before due only pay. doh.gif shakehead.gif
*
Better double check next bill that they don't charge you the RM10 reactivation fee.

Bro Jjuggler is using Mikrotik router f I am not mistaken, and only using the AC58U as a wireless AP, so the RAM of the AC58U doesn't really matter to him.
*
Not anymore. He sold his RB750Gr3 to me. Good price also. smile.gif He’s a major router enthusiast, always trying out different wifi routers.

Hi soonwai, can i ask some question about the RB750Gr3?
I had bought one from the Lelong on friday, and i would like to know do i need to set any firewall or protection for it,or it is auto on default?
Thanks.
*
There’s a basic firewall in its default configuration. You can see what it does in /ip/firewall/filter.

Google around for some more advanced configurations. I don’t use it anymore but my first firewall config came from klseet.com.

Hahaha so good they charge you less. I just hope they didn't charge me extra

Yah, I was surprised too, couldn't make head or tail of the bills. Yesterday received my 3rd bill after the RYE100 upgrade and finally it has stabilised to the expected RM189.

If someone want to have a go at explaining my bills. My installation date was Nov 27. Billing cycle is Nov 28.

28 Nov 2017: RM149 + 91.94 + 0.90 (phone call) - 60 (rebate cause they forgot the special 50)= RM181.84

28 Dec 2017: RM150.66
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

28 Jan 2018: RM189
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

So for the first 2 months after my upgrade I only paid a total RM332.5 instead of RM378.

*all prices before GST.

Try to disable WAN IP binding and try again.

I had configured DDNS in the TP-Link AC1200 router supplied by Unifi successfully.  When I tried to configure for auto-update with No-IP, it failed with the message "Failed to update DDNS".  With the same userid and password I keyed in the form, I was able to login to No-IP.  Appreciate if Sifus here can diagnose what went wrong or suggest what to try to resolve the problem.  Thank you.

Just checked mine which is working fine and WAN IP Binding is disabled.

Guys I have a question. So my mom does heavy fixed line calls to her siblings and just found out that the new Unifi package does not come with free phone calls anymore. Just wondering IF anyone here manage to retain their old RM10 voice pack  by retaining the old number and not porting into the unifi number?

I tried calling 100 and ask and as per usual, each CS has different reply, some say no some say yes some say have to refer to installer/configuration team.

I've also walked down to TM Point, lady said don't know have to refer to HQ.

Thanks!
*
You mean you plan to terminate current package and sign up for new package? If so, I believe cannot retain old number.

Your client also needs ipv6.

That's correct.

Just to expand on this. My DVR has IPv6 support and so does its software.

IPv6 got better safety than IPv4 for cctv?
*
No, nothing to do with safety. ipv6 is basically just longer address, and therefore more addresses, than ipv4. Like our house telephone, last time 5 numbers now 8 numbers. Basically that's it.

I thought it may lower the hack percentage, because many cam leak was cause be port forwarding with low security policy..haha
*
ipv4 port forwarded CCTV's are the easiest to access cause 1) Exposed to the internet; 2) vulnerabilities in its OS; 3) Lazy CCTV installers who leave the default passwords unchanged.
A quick and easy way to secure them is to use a VPN to access your CCTVs. That's assuming your VPN is OK.
