QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jan 7 2018, 12:24 PM) Hmm? Fixed 5ghz by simple reboot? Well, if it works....no comment. Mine auto-reboot after heavy torrent session after 52 hours or so. Pretty good considering my torrent total connections. For unifi slow speed of 100Mbps..... maybe it is better to disable NAT Boost in your case. But with TIME 500Mbps.......one gotta leave it on. IPv4 already ran out in Malaysia. TM already giving out private IP range to streamyx users since year 2012. (At first, 384kbps users, then 512kbps users, next 1Mbps users.....recently 8Mbps users) We don't have much choice other than IPv6, too bad majority of home CCTV etc don't support IPv6 |

100mbps at RM189 for some lucky few.
It was RM199 , 5 years ago for VIP10 (10mbps). Broadband prices have come down a lot since then This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Jan 10 2018, 07:57 AM |

I just found out that Streamyx fix line numbers can now be migrated to unifi. Since when did they implement this?

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 10 2018, 09:27 AM) More like Broadband prices have been (and still are) overpriced..TIME still turns a healthy profit... Try the same using car prices. Really come down a lot? The initial investment for role out for Fiber is always hefty. Now that TM has the economy of scale, they are able to slash the pricing of their products. So the early adopters for any technology will always pay the premium All I can say is, TM has improved a lot in terms of their internet services compared to streamyx days ... although I feel their products is still expensive for a 100mbps connection at RM200 - RM250. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 11 2018, 10:25 AM) maxis has never been able to match unifi in terms of both price and performance. I am always tempted to try out Maxis, but Unifi keeps slashing their pricing in the last 2 years, so stay with TM. Besides, I heard Maxis manages their traffic at certain hours.i get a call from them every year, an invitation to test their offer. always end up their price offer is far inferior, no deal. But RM119 for 10mbps and unlimited calls to all fixed/mobile numbers is a good offer from Maxis. However, 10mbps is only sufficient for one person only for youtube/streaming netflix.. Need at least 10mbps per person. In family of 4, needs at least 50mbps. This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Jan 11 2018, 10:44 AM |

QUOTE(skaimaunta @ Jan 11 2018, 10:49 AM) i hav upgrade 50mbps to 100mbps abt 2 week. but the speed test never show 100mbps. alwys 50+mbps. already live chat but still same. anyone face sme prob? Most of the time, it's on user's side.1. If you are on wired connection, make sure both the router and laptop/computer supports gigabyte. (1000mbps). My older laptop only support 100mbps, so it struggles to reach 100mbps, most hitting 90mbps only. 2. If you are on wireless, make sure you have i) reasonable good router that support higher speed (wireless N or AC) ii) wireless devices that support higher speed (wireless N or AC) |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 11 2018, 10:52 AM) bolded is the prime issue for me. I am ok if they manage P2P traffic, but if they manages common internet traffic such as Youtube/ downloading updates from Windows, PS4, Applestore, GooglePlay updates , then it's as good as useless even if it's on 100mbps.afaik, maxis contract has a "fair usage" policy - u get throttled if u download too much. time, i read they reduce speed during certain hours of the day, not max all the time. unifi has a policy of GB/TB limit but doe not practice it at all. so, no brainer for me... i continue to do my TB's. QUOTE(System Error Message @ Jan 19 2018, 12:49 AM) i dont think many here understand what people here have been saying. We are being charged for a hypptv subscription which we did not apply for. Hypptv is part of unifi but the cost is inclusive so for instance in the year end promo, if you subscribed to unifi any package, hypptv is inclusive without any additional pay. its only if you subscribed to a hypptv package that you have to pay that, but the point is we did not. As AVFAN has pointed out, this has to do with accounting, taxation and programming. If you work in IT and billing department, you will understand.I know this because for another one of my family who did subscribe they only paid for unifi and not for hypptv separately, exactly as advertised. However for me, i am being charged separately for unifi which should've been inclusive of the cost otherwise it should've been mentioned at tm point when i was signing up. They need to cater for legacy billing too (unify users upgraded from previous years). TM Unifi is always offered as Triple pay package (voice, hyptv and internet) since its inception. When they offer you upgrade package from Unifi Advance 50mbps to Unifi Pro 100mbps, the standard rate for these packages remains the same in the billing. It will be an accounting and programming nightmare if they were to introduce an overhaul to Unifi packages every few months. (for example, unifi advance 60mbps, unifi advance 70mbps ,etc) Instead, they would tweak your package by adjusting the HypTV package (jumbo pack , etc) and give you a nett perpetual or contractual discount , so that the final bill amount will be the one you agree before you sign up. For example, if you are already paying RM189 for 50mbps, you will be paying RM199 for 100mbps (+RM 10 upgrade). In this case, TM will add Jumbo package (RM60) , and give you a perpetual discount of -RM50, so the nett extra you have to fork out would be +RM10. This perpetual/ contractual discount is on the condition that you remain subscribed to HypTV, nevermind if you need it or not, but this is how it works. My advice to you is, if you have a dispute such as being billed extra RM20 instead of promised RM10, you can go to TM , and they would rebate and adjust for you. My dealing with TM has always been positive, they are quite reasonable. This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Jan 19 2018, 08:31 AM |

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Jan 19 2018, 08:46 AM) from what i can see, the RM10 upgrade is in gross bill, it is 221.91 (hypp + internet), and my previous full payment is 209, so they are not entirely correct on description of upgrade, but they are not entirely wrong either. they did not say it is after tax RM10 upgrade, sneaky bastards I got a bit of error as they pro-rated my HypTV at earlier date than installation date, hence extra RM10++ for the Jumbo pack RM60. The discount for me was reflected on the internet subscription portion -RM200 but not on HypTV jumbo pack portion. Due to this, the prorate to Jumbo pack was based on RM60, not discounted RM10 (RM60 - discount RM50). Well, I am happy with 100mbps , so that extra few ringgit, never mind la. QUOTE(holymushroom @ Jan 24 2018, 10:00 PM) calls to landline FOC after 600mins right?Only mobile will charge beyond 600mins. But if you mother likes to use landline, consider subscribing Maxis Fiber - this one unlimited calls to Mobile and Fixed lines. RM139 for 30mbps with unlimited free calls, it's quite a good bargain. QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 25 2018, 12:20 PM) Thanks for the information. I learnt something today. TM fixed line only foc. Nowadays some fixed-lined are owned by Maxis and Time, so it's not a guarantee thing So in short calls to fixed line is free unlimited.
