QUOTE(#Victor @ Jan 25 2018, 12:56 PM) How to identify the recipient caller's fixed line is owned by other operator so that won't get charged blindly This one I don't know Maybe you can call that person ask him whether he uses TM line or maxis/ Time.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 25 2018, 05:46 PM) Meaning for new users....best deals... Rm139 for 30mbps Rm189 for 50mbps. No more cheap upgrade to 100mbps for current 50mbps users, i suppose. aww, those lucky few who can get 100mbps at a discount! This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Jan 26 2018, 08:31 AM

QUOTE(KKW @ Jan 26 2018, 11:44 AM) I just received my first bill after they upgrade my plan to RYE 100Mbps. I don't really understand what are they billing me. [attachmentid=9546449] Very easy. 1. Add up all the charges from 1/19-18/2/18 (internet / ruby pack / jumbo pack) ---> this is your commitment fee per month , which is RM189.00. This is the amount you need to pay from next month onward. 2. The rest of the charges 4/1 - 18/1/18 ----> this is your prorated charge for new plan, and rebate for charge you already paid (since TM charged you 1 month in advance). It looks a bit high. What was your plan and monthly commitment before this? Btw, your plan does not have free STD calls. I assume your previous plan also not subscribed to it, this is the most likely scenario. QUOTE(KKW @ Jan 26 2018, 12:17 PM) Oh I see, before this my plan was RM239 excluding STD calls but during upgrade they told get free STD calls and Jumbo pack. Ah, then the bill is about right. If I were you , I won't complain about the charges or the missing STD. You are getting RM189.00 , a significant discount from what you were paying previously. If you complain, TM may look at your previous bill and may decide to add RM10 on top of what you were paying previously as this should be the case for the upgrade. Or they may just offer you 24 months contract discount , not perpetual... and you have trouble yourself to rage/ write to MCMC/ complain in lowyat for few weeks, and cut down your lifespan by few years. QUOTE(KKW @ Jan 26 2018, 12:50 PM) Any overcharge? Yup, they offer me 24 months contract discount when I complain to MCMC The prorate/rebate looks a bit messy, probably due to multiple adjustments (?). Are you happy with with the RM189.00 without STD calls? If you are ok with it, then I suggest you just leave it as it is. if not, you could refer to TM billing for clarification. But for your bill which so complex, i think the counter staff will also have some problem understanding it This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Jan 26 2018, 12:59 PM

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 29 2018, 11:47 PM) Wow... People want higher speeds, some want to downgrade speeds. As a fellow cord-cutter, let me share with you the same thing I shared with a fellow forummer. With faster internet speeds means my PC will be on for far less time, saving me electricity bills, plus wear & tear as well. Example, assuming a constant dowload speed of 30Mbps (Sadly, is the max I can get at current location), it'll take me 3 hours and 11 minutes to download a 40GB file. The same file using 100Mbps only takes 58 minutes. That's less than an hour.. On an equally priced TIME 300Mbps speed, the same file will take me only 19 minutes to download!!.. At 1Gbps, it's just 6 minutes!!. So you see.. Regardless of what some think, More speed = less time spent waiting around for downloads/uploads and more time focusing on other stuffs. Plus, I telecommute often with VPN required. Fast stable internet speeds are required for high encryption of say video conferences.. To me, the only speed I actually crave and may consider as overkill is 1Gbps. Yes, its a far-fetched dream but one can hope.. yes PS4 game at 40gig, a 100mbps line makes a lot of difference than 50mbps! half the time.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 1 2018, 02:35 PM) From a consumer standpoint, that would be the easiest and best. Unfortunately from a business standpoint, that is moot. It's like the Streamyx to Unifi era and even till today, still have people paying wayyy to much for 1Mbps or even less speeds. Why? cuz no choice and while some may be aware and pisssed enough to renegotiate their prices, many more just blur only. Take current 100Mbps fiasco. At most, 500 - 1000 subscribers saw this forums and or similar and made some noise to get their pricing or plans renegotiated. Probably there are tens of thousands more out there who either don't know they can get cheaper and faster and just keep paying, especially through auto-pay. After-all, since this whole thing started last year, almost every week...we have a few users who come in surprised that people are paying lower and getting faster speeds. I got an SMS earlier today.. "RM0 Enjoy 10 new FOX channels now on unifi tv with 2 months complimentary viewing! Watch FOX Movies, Nat Geo Wild, FOX Life and more (CH 960 – 969) now!" i will go home and check the new channels hope there will be chinese subtitles for my folks.
