The more challenge the water leaking waterproofing situation is, the more adrenaline i get Especially those who appointed few contractors to solve waterproofing water leaking problems and yet still failed to rectify the water leaking waterproofing.

Those common water leaking i can share about are below:
1. Waterproofing Problem / Waterproofing Materials
2. Water leaking / Plumbing  (toilet, roof slab, wall concrete slab)
3. Concrete crack repair solution.

In general, There are few types of waterproofing chemical
1. Liquid applied PU waterproofing membrane
2. Cementitious waterproofing coating
3. Chemical injection waterproofing system
4. Exposed waterproofing system
5. Self adhesive waterproofing system

I believe Water leaking or Waterproofing problem is the most nightmare defects rectification work compare other defects. Worse still some contractors proposed wrong method solving the leaking matter or some contractor disappear after owner engage their service and many nightmare stories that i heard.

I will be very glad to share some of my experiences rectifying water leaking problems or waterproofing problems and share my knowledge the best solution to rectify it

Hi, all need some help.
The home sky glass post few issues:-
1) water leaking
2) Hot sunlight make house hot, aircon unable to cool
3) Below sky glass got electronic stuff (hazard if water leaking)

Option to rectify:-
1) Reseal the silicon on skyglass
2) Install super black tint to prevent sunlight and heat
3) Extend tile roof pass the glass ( no rain drop to glass and shelter for sunlight
4) remove glass and concrete slab

appreciate your suggestion. the top sky sunlight shine through house not important because
got side glass with grille already.

Plan to use Option 1 and 2 but not sure if long term will occur again.

Water leaking inside wall of wet kitchen, wet kitchen was done by extending few years back ago. Only solution is to hack and redo piping is it?

leak :
1. always seal up leak from the source. leak from outside, seal from outside, no point seal from inside as seal will fail easily.
2. since it is glass and outdoor, something like silicone weather proof acetic type would do fine.
3. for added durability, cover the seal with aluminium tape or those rubber flex tape.
4. check the cement for cracks/microcracks........especially at the places where the cement makes a right angle. can fill them up with water proof putty filler for big cracks, for small cracks, can use water proof paint.

heat :
1. if want to have light with lesser heat, can consider those car tint like solar guard/v-cool etc.
2. if totally don't want the light to go through but don't want the hassle of removing the glass, can just paint the inner surface of the glass...........then it will look just like ceiling.

thanks for swift reply. what if extend the roof tile to cover the sky glass will totally
solve the issue especially water leaking? i not sure if seal method next few years problem
will rise again. what is the duration to reseal again after 3years? thanks

Depends on source of leak

Very good question VeeJay, Its always good to do initial investigation / inspection if the leaking condition is too complicated and to determine which area toilet leaking. We call this ponding test

And for your case, the problem should be Waterproofing issue if the leaking occasionally drip. Usually if the water dripping day and night with constant dripping speed, most likely its due to piping.
There are many brands of cementitious type waterproofing in the market. And most of them does work well as long you follow the manufacturer guides instruction. And contractor must have some basic knowledge how to apply. I will soon come out with some technical drawing details waterproofing.

1. Sika, Mapei, Penten, Estop, Fosroc, Xypex, Greenseal, Greencemt, Bostik, Daco, Axel Chemil, STO, Oriental Yu Hong (upcoming china brand)

Some of the brands above you can't find in any hardware store and can only get at their manufacturer plant. You can get very good discount with bulk quantity. Some of them only focus supply to big development project contract only.

The new waterproofing brand Oriental Yu Hong is the cheapest and have bigger coverage. A close friend of mine is dealing directly with the manufacturer. The sample quality is unbelievably good.
