No matter what I amp model I try out, I eventually go back to the Mk IIC+ model...

Seriously, I've spoken to a local amp builder, he said that he could make a clone...
Still waiting to see how the Mesa quest will turn out, if all is lost, I could always have a clone...

Sadly, no...

Because Mesa uses PCB, and the amp builder said that PCB will be problematic after around 10 years. So he doesn't want to build an amp that will eventually breakdown after sometime. But this doesn't mean that Mesa amps are not reliable though.
He intend to ptp wiring, which translate to A LOT OF WORK, as Mesas are real complicated. It would cost around RM8k~10k for a Mk IV clone; after further discussions, and I did away with functions, managed to get the cost down to RM5k.
I reckon the MkIIC+ is less complicated then the MkIV, so maybe it will cost less than RM5k for a clone. Haven't really talked to him about the MkIIC+ though. But if anyone's interested, he's Mike from Junction Amps. Checked with Nik from Ceriatone before, he said in the mean time he's not doing any Mesa clones, but he hopes to do one in the future.

Actually, the PODxt LIVE has a good redemption of the MkIIC+, I sent a clip to one of my friends in the US, who has an original 80s MkIIC+. Even JP asked him to sell it to him when he met him on DT's tour last year! Of course he told him NO! lol... Anyway, he said it has a lot of the right characteristics, but it's not quite as complex or toneful as the real thing. Btw, he used his MkIIC+ for practice only! Dammit... He uses his Rivera for his recordings and live shows. He's an avid 7-stringer too! He has 4 EBMM JP7s

Anyway, if I'm getting a clone Mesa, wouldn't you think I'm taking alot of risk? It hasn't been done before, as the cost would most likely be higher than a new one. And again, I'm not too sure whether it will be exactly what I want

where got all kaya one EQ, me n gapnap survive eat maggi onli because of this expensive interest in music scene we're into..i've alwys dreamt of owning a 7string since day 1 fell in love wit steve vai's universe UV7. so work my butt off to reach my goal. Rg pun jadi lah heh, but that universe still calling out my name each day.

A new MkIV head directly from Mesa is slightly less than RM6k. And people over there already complaining it's too expensive. It's the MRRP anyway, so it should be much less.
RM5k is for a clone.
