I got it rather cheap 2nd hand off ishibashi for about RM3.1k-3.2k inclusive of shipping (I'm not too sure myself on the exact price until I see the credit card statement!).

An additional RM201.00 was paid to the customs for sales tax or whatever you call it. Yeah do upload it to the account, coz I'm pretty curious myself! tongue.gif

Besides the U-bar thing on the K7 and the K7 being a mahogany body, (not mentioning the pickups.. Coz pickups can be modded if we want to heheh)

Is there really a big difference between the K7 and any other 7-string ibanez?

Other than that there's nothing else I can think about except for the abalone neck binding.

Pretty much most Ibanez Prestige 7 strings are pretty roXx0r!

hmmm... also the K7 comes with one volume knob and a 3 way pickup selector as opposed to the RG7s which come with the typical 1 volume 1 tone and the 5-way selector...

Yeah, the abalone neck binding roxxors... fret markers on it glow in the dark too! thumbup.gif

Lolz! Speaking of that, neither did I! I always thought it was a 5 way pickup selector switch as well, until my friend played and told me it was 3 way.

"Huh you didn't know?! You had the guitar for three weeks weih!" doh.gif

Sigh, the delinquent I am... tongue.gif

Cool... smile.gif

valkyrie , if u wanna play like a B chord, u can't do that on the 7-string right?

You can only play the single low B string right?

unlike if it's in drop D, u can just like fret the low strings and make a power chord outta it.. if u get wat i mean..?

or can you?

You still can. Only it has the tonality of an inverted fifth.

Well...depends on what B chord you are referring to Mr Unloco.
If you wanna play a power chord, well no problems with that, but if u're referring to a B major or B minor, you could always play a normal barre chord with an added low B

e 7 7
B 7 7
G 8 7
D 9 9
A 9 9
E 7 7
B 0 0

or a more feasible choice would be to the 1st and the 3rd, but with a higher octave 3rd. Instead of the standard B minor/B major chord like so:

D 1 0
A 2 2

(B&Eb) (B&D)

you could probably whack

E 11 10
B 0 0

(B&Eb) (B&D)

Though I've never tried it personally before playing a super low B major/minor chord before. Low C#minor still alright and easier too! Thanks Rossie for the tip on the inverted fifth, but to be honest, I don't really know what inverted means! Care to enlighten?

.................... shocking.gif

rclxub.gif

LOL!!

Hmm, actually what I meant was..

Like example, if it's in Drop D

we could do something like this : (Example)

e |-------|
B |-------|
G |-------|
D |---2--|
A |---2--|
E |---2--|

Right?

But with a 7-string you can't do something like : (Example)

e |-------|
B |-------|
G |-------|
D |-------|
A |---2--|
E |---2--|
B |---2--|

Right? Or you actually can?

Maybe its more possible after dropping the low E string to D ..? No?

LOL the "tab" it looks unaligned sweat.gif but hope u get what i'm trying to say.. smile.gif

Added on May 29, 2007, 7:49 pmCome to think of it, I think the

e |-------|
B |-------|
G |-------|
D |-------|
A |---2--|
E |---2--|
B |---2--|

is highly unlikely right? even if the low E is dropped to D ..

Er why not? In your previous example on a 6 string. Looks like you're playing a regular E power chord in Drop D.

So Likewise, drop the 7th string to A...and you can play a regular B power chord then

D 2
A 2
D 2 <-- E power chord

A 2
E 2
A 2 <-- B power chord

Actually you know what, I don't really understand the question at all! tongue.gif

drop your E to D ..and your B to A

^ you can play your nu metal chord then

-x
-x
-x
-2
-2
-2
-2

this way..but your B will be your top string lar.. tongue.gif not that syok also

eh no lar..i just main tembak tembak only..

you are the one owning a 7 string wurt tongue.gif

anyway ..bottom line for unloco is ..

in my opinion , i think you don't really know how chord formation works...or at least not sure..if not you wouldn't ask that question..

anything is possible , you want
-2
-2
-2
-2
-2
-2
-2

also can ...just adjust the tuning ..learn up theory abit . once you get the trick , you can do anything smile.gif both my way / valkyrie works , it depends on what you want only..

Inverted fifth means that you play the fifth below the root, instead of the normal power chord.

A|-5-
E|-3-
B|-3-
