one of those things where if you haven't tried it, you don't know what you're missing.
But once you've tried it, it's very hard to go back.

...or buy ori BD movies, of course  tongue.gif
Btw, after waited for so long to upgrade my 6-year-old Onkyo SR605, i have decided to get the Onkyo NR616. thumbup.gif

Why i bought the NR616?
1) Price - within my budget
2) More HDMI inputs - 8 of them
3) Improved sound quality - compared to SR605
4) 3D and 4K TV ready - maybe in 2-3 years time, 4K TVs is more affordable
5) THX Certified
6) Internet radio service

I'm still using my old speakers, but now itching to upgrade the subwoofer...
oh my, this is an expensive hobby indeed rclxub.gif
*
Pretty good choice. What speakers are you using now?
I'm still waiting to get a Pioneer PK52-FS, but with a different sub maybe.

As for 4k, I think in 3 years 4k will be mainstream judging at how quickly 4k prices are dropping. 1080p TVs didn't even drop like this when it started to go mainstream. laugh.gif

Yes. I am using it for my PS3 game play together with Samsung 32" LED TV. Previously was just using cheap Altec Lansing speaker...Now can use optical cable to have clearer sound. So excited...

Any suggestion for subwoofer?... i've been eying for the SVS PB-1000 from HTkaki... but maybe only can afford it next year...maybe sweat.gif

The SVS PB-1000 is really not half bad for a mid-end sub really. Good choice if you pick it up.

Extends so deep on the bass that many subs at this price range cannot reach, powerful enough and distortion is minimal. If I need to find fault, it is that the PB-1000 rolls off a little too quickly by the time it hits the mid bass frequencies. Not a huge issue as I'm being picky here and since the price of the sub is about RM2.5k (maybe less?), then yeah... it's a solid little sub.

A cheaper alternative is a Swans Hivi H10 sub, about RM1.8k I think. It isn't as tight sounding as the PB-1000 but on all other points, it matches up very well.

Both are great though at this price, certainly worth paying for the PB-1000 but do try and go listen to the H10 as well if possible.

Not sure where to take a listen on the PVS in Malaysia as I auditioned them in Singapore.
But for the Swans H10, you can go to CyntrixTech at Puchong. They have a showroom there, audio room I mean. laugh.gif

i don't have much money/space to buy amplifier or standing speaker as im playing in my bedroom.
my bedroom is small and only enuf space for a table fan, 1 closet and short cabinet.

So headphone is my only option.
Beside sony bluetooth headphone(1st gen) which im using, any recommend headphone ?

like razor kraken, steel series, or audio technica MTH series

Anything related to audio equipment are welcome to this thread.

Btw, headphone is better if you're playing games or watching movies by your own.
