There is membership of 75AUD which covers evacuation and consultation. Than basic insurance of 95AUD. If you call them during emergencies they will settle everything for you.

Yes. Dive assure is cheaper by 20ringgit or so after conversion. I choose DAN because some of my friends say the service is much better.

Membership + Master. They normally pay costs directly but like any insurance, hopefully it's recognized when you need it otherwise you'll have to pay upfront

For what it's worth - my friend's medievac from Vanuatu to Brisbane cost something like $200,000. He probably would've died in Vanuatu without it. During the flight he had a few cardiac arrests, and when he arrived in Brisbane they diagnosed him with flesh-eating bacteria.

I'm going to get my open diving license in Sabah.

Do you think it's a good choice to take in Sabah or should I just take it in penisular malaysia?

It cost me about rm900 just for diving and hostel stay for 4days 3 nights. My plan is to take a license there and then stay for few more nights where I will be going out there to dive at different spot.

Hmmmm. Which part of Sabah? For me I feel there is not much difference as long as you are comfortable with the plan. Diving is not just about the dive sometimes, its also about the holiday.

I think i was covered the moment i received the confirmation mail (within minutes). Pretty sure they have a network of hospitals and medical providers they work with that can bill DAN. Anyway I'll send them a mail to ask.
