Bought this item. The seller is still stating 5 years warranty over there where as a matter of fact, they have replied me that they will only provide one year warranty from their end.

Thank you very much for your help! You're truly a life saver!  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
For no.1, I would like to know how can I check whether my item is local or parallel import?
For no.3, will drop them a message later and see how it goes..
For no.3, I will try to seek for their help, but it's hard for me to request as I didn't buy the item from them in the first place.. A bit pai se with them.. Wonder if they will still help me on this or not...
For no.4, I have checked, SSD is not mentioned at all under IT & Business Related Products...

A very big thank you to both of you for your great help!  thumbsup.gif  thumbsup.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

don't mention it.

1. for no. 1, you can ask the shop to help verify if the unit is a local. they should know someone that can help doing that;
2. for no. 3, they are local distributors. if it's a local unit, most probably they are the one who distribute it. if it's a parallel import, then they should find that out and take necessary actions, because such acts are hurting their own sales as a local distributor;
3. for no. 4, you're correct that there is no related warranty information about ssd. what i meant was that sme is the official rep for samsung here. although it's not stated in the warranty information, they must be aware of their own products selling locally, including their own ssds. if they cannot help you by at least leading you to the right direction on how to claim the warranty of their own products, who else can?

sorry i didn't mention it correctly in the previous post. by right in the case of samsung ssds, the seller shall honor the full warranty of what they sell. (not only for the first year, but also for the rest of the warranty period. note that all valid sellers are responsible for helping their customers to claim samsung ssd's warranty, and they know how to do that) that's the main reason why samsung keep telling people to go back to the shop from which the ssd was purchased. (for this part, you can just call samsung hotline and get it verified easily; that's the actual procedure as of now here) as a buyer, the key point here is to keep the proof of purchase like invoice for this purpose. since your seller is telling you nonsense (even further reduce the warranty to 1 year only, and seemed reluctant to help at all after that), i think it's worthwhile for you to report this, and seek their help for the possibility to have other alternative ways to claim the warranty.

is portable aircond acceptable for small room?
*
If not renting better get wall mount split unit. cheaper and more efficient.
I have one 1.5hp portable ac in master room very hard to cold down even after i modified become dual hose (so the room not in negative pressure which draw hot air outside through gap of door or window)
since the compressor is inside ur room it will be quite noisy(55~70 db) unless u okay with it.

portable ac not so worth but if renting room then no choice.

Malaysian conglomerate Hong Leong Group has invested under MYR5 million ($1.39 million) in an online shopping portal, GEMFive, which has been launched by the youngest son of the group’s billionaire founder Quek Leng Chan. The 34 years old founder Quek Kon Sean told local reporters that the startup funding provided by Hong Leong Group so far, was less than MYR5 million.

The Star reported that GEMFive, which will be launched in Malaysia on May 18, is operated by GuoLine eMarketing, an independent new private entity owned by the Hong Leong Group.[/url]
