Need to ask the SA. Sometimes they off the  HUD function due to people complaining it is distracting their driving.

yeah....the HUD is quite distracting! Lousy feature in my opinion.

People are weird… the HUD means you don’t need to look down at your speedometer so it reduces distraction actually.

No lar, just like playing games with those first person view, sometimes the HUD is also too distracting if you are not use to it especially when you are driving in real life. After a while, you might just forgot or learn to ignore it.

I test drove at two different places.

SA 1 - HUD turned on
SA 2 - HUD turned off

To be honest, I'm not sure if it's affecting my driving... will comment again when the car is here...

Ha, at first it may be distracting if you pay it too much heed, but after a while it becomes invisible because your eyes are focused on the road which is in front of the plane of vision that the HUD is projected on.

It's useful for ACC with LSF also because when you're using adaptive cruise you can set the distance and make sure LKAS is on and all that. It also shows you what the current speed is vs. what your set ACC speed is.

Got the 1.5T for half a year now. Recently felt the steering is a bit weird.

I know it is probably normal, when on highway high speed with lane centering & cruise control on etc, the steering becomes heavier and felt more resistance to steer.

But recently when I came off the highway and lane centering & cruise control etc OFF and driving straight, there seem to be resistance in the steering when trying to turn the steering by 1 or 2 cm.

I think the EPS tightens and becomes harder to turn at higher speeds, otherwise if it's as easy to turn as when you're doing a U-turn it'd be disastrous for highway driving. As long as there's no "sticky"/"kiak" feel when turning like there's a notch or two that you need to overcome before it turns, then your steering rack is fine.

Coming off the highway, I was driving 40 - 60 kph. The 'resistance to steer" occasionally happens in the initial 1 or 2 cm of turning. Would you call "resistance to steer" same as "sticky"?

But if I don't go onto the highway and in town all day, less such occurrence.

Hard to say, but when my Civic FC had the steering rack issue it had a pretty obvious notchy feel, like there's a small bump in the gear you need to overcome for it to turn. If it's just pure resistance without the notchy feel I think it's probably by design.

Is this a safety issue or just an annoyance?

Annoyance for the most part, and since most people went in straight away to get theirs addressed idk what are the ramifications if you simply leave it unfixed (I'm talking years).. maybe the unit will fail over time.

so during idle, does the air conditioning running at normal mode ? didn't notice this . also didn't pay attention to the bose speakers. Was too into the performance of the car. laugh.gif Also didn't notice that  there was a 'head up display'.
*
yes. the aircond will run in normal mode. u can even use the full blast. i also notice there is no compressor kick-in sound. i think maybe for hybrid using different kind of compressor.

Yeah man, and using paddle or B mode to increase regen was quite fun and felt good when it charges up your hybrid battery so during red light the engine is completely off. No sound and harsh vibration at all.
*
i feel B mode is quite annoying. the sudden lost of inertia. regen paddle is good. can replicate the engine braking concept.

I use it only for stop and go traffic so I don't need to slam on the brakes, which is doubly annoying...

For normal driving I much prefer D, because like you said the sudden loss of inertia is quite jarring, like someone using a rubber band to hold your car back rclxub.gif sweat.gif
