No problem here so far after 7 months of owning the car. Don’t listen to the nay sayers especially those that write a lot and who didn’t even own the car.

I mean, just go buy a CX5 already and stop haunting on a CRv thread.
*
I dont know who is the so called nay sayers and they dont own the car, unless i have the proof to it. the humming sound and clinking sound is true and cant deny~ i was doubt this earlier, but lucky or bad luck my car now started to have both issues now.
this forum is to share everything about CRV, correct me if im wrong. dry.gif

My car having 2 issue now, the 130km/h ++ humming sound.. and a clinking sound appear on slight uneven road that create vibration.. sound coming from below steering~  no clue which part ~ grumble.gif
*
I have that problem also.. seems like it is from the engine bay rather than under the steering

Hi,
I bought a coating package. Is there any autocare/shop help to perform coating process by using self buy coating Agent ?

hmm.gif This will be difficult. Especially as such providers rely on making profits off the products they use and not just charging for services. I would advice you forget about approaching the big/well-known brands as those have reps to protect and won't want to be liable, should your product screw up your car's paint or body. Try those smaller mom & pop type shops. Might bump into an employee looking for quick cash. Of course, zero warranty and guarantee on the end result.

Thanks. Seem not worth to take a risk on this. Luckily is not so expensive.

Better you try joining the various FB groups instead. As most often, accessories are posted for sale and owners share their latest mods, price and where to get them.. This way, at least you can confirm it'll fit your vehicle before ordering.

I would go with the CRV.. While the HRV will be cheaper to maintain. Personally, I found it way too small for my needs. Disclaimer: I wasn't following its development closely.. Though the HRV was also recently recalled for a manufacturing defect. So there's that. IMHO, if you can wait, WAIT!!.. Let the current "normal" (as per some HM SAs) issues be dealt with before dropping cash. Quite a number of defects popping up for the CRV.

Was following the CRV FB group, some of the defects picked up by the owner is rather ridiculous, ie, restart the car 20 times to unlock the power steering doh.gif

I shall wait till mid of the year, then check-in on the progress. Hopefully by then the new HRV facelift will be available soon..can compare a bit.

Yea, really ridiculous.. Other issues at least not exactly life-threatening..Some power boots can't even close flush with the body.. doh.gif.. Still can tahan. But it's the thought of driving around and not knowing if and when your EPS and car system just decides to crash. Luckily, so far no accidents reported. Just call tow truck. It's a damn pity for such a fine well-packaged car. I'm still holding out strong hope for the CRV especially if they bring in the hybrid for more oomph. I don't need the 7 seater version.

My FIL is also interested in the upcoming HRV and we are hoping it's going to be the hybrid variant too drool.gif as it's going to mostly be used for quick runs around town. Easier for elderly to enter and exit from such height than sedan. Hopefully, it too won't be plagued with issues. Else I'll advise em to just buy the outgoing variant and cheaper too.

It's really depend whether you need that xtra spaces from CR-V or not. I bought HR-V instead of CR-V that time its because all the while its only 4 persons (including driver) in the car. Just get either one of them based on your demands.

HRV does have the stabilizer bar problem, and unfortunately I was one of the lucky person among them. But then after they provide the free service for changing the bar. The car is pretty good and nice without any of the unwanted sound. I would believe facelift HRV will not have this issue anymore as Honda may have rectified the issue. For CR-V wise, there are still lots of new case coming out until now. So like other CR-V owner said, wait a little bit more and make sure all issues that they addressed in CR-V are all fixed.

Thanks bro; I have been wanting a CRV for a while, but taking into consideration all the feedback from the existing users, sort of put me off. I travel quite a fair bit everyday, so ill afford to have these glitches when I'm on the road. Let's see...keeping my finger cross.

I read about the stabilizer bar, I did notice the sound when I test drove one recently and I thought it was me..so decided to drop this when I spoke to the sales agent.

The issues at China is actually a cold-climate engine problem, owners notices a significant increases of engine oil when they tested it with the engine oil dipstick, those are the mixtures of petrol and engine oil.

The official statement of the problem was "unusual amount of un-combusted petrol collecting in the engine's lubricant oil pan"

Normally un-combusted petrol ends up accumulated in the lubricant oil pan but evaporates under heat from the engine. Such evaporated petrol is by design put back into the engine combustion chamber as fuel. On cold-climate or winter, Honda engineers believe the engine doesn't warm up enough to help un-combusted petrol accumulated in the lubricant oil pan to evaporate.

Dongfeng Honda offered to updating the engine's gasoline injection control software, in order to manipulate the intake of fuel being injection into the combustion camber. However, you know orang china like to made a real mountain out of a molehill, they do not accept the recalled hence Honda halted the sale the car.

No similar problems was being reported other than China.
Although it is the same 1.5T earth dream engine being used globally, I believe the ECU are different country to country.
Same goes to the Mazda 2.2D engine problem in Taiwan, still people are buying Mazda Diesel here in Malaysia.

For those who are encounter the metal rattling sound from undercarriage when driving upon uneven road condition, may I know your car mileage?

My car do face the same initially, but after putting more miles on it, the sound is gone for now, or maybe the sound is much muted. My car clocked about 17K by now.

Will observe further.

Anyone else here is having some sound/wind noise problem on the new CRV?

Mine would have noticeable wind noise (humming) at 90kmh and gets very bad and annoying above 120kmh. Problem looks like from driver side door. Honda checked the rubber seals and they look all fine, not sure where the problem lies.

If there are any strong outdoor smell (like travelling behind a garbage truck or near a sewer treatment plant) the smell would leak into the cabin even with air circulation turned on.

Sound proofing is also very bad for this car, i'd say even proton fares better, seriously wtf.

Any workshop experts in finding the fault? since Honda SC is pretty fucking shit at it.

for my case, the wind sounds not as bad as you facing. but the noise from tyre is noticeable, but i think its quite fair for SUV big tyres..
i think your unit may have some issue, it is very rare case 90km/h have humming sound... confused.gif

Your car is brand new and under warranty, if Honda SC don't fix your problem, utilize your consumer power, complain to consumer tribunal and make sure HM give you a satisfactory answer.

However, talking about NVH, Honda is never good in this area no matter how many generation of the model has been produced. For my current car, I have spent few Ks to autofoam and sound proof the car, yes it improved but still worse than my other car that I have not done anything. For SUV, it is more challenging as there is no much choice for the quieter tyres.
