QUOTE(johnnycp @ Mar 22 2018, 06:41 PM) I received a call two days ago. It also coincide with my 10K service appointment which I already made for this afternoon. So, when they called me about this recall, they said they needed time to service and so they rescheduled my appointment to morning. I just came back from SC and was told my vehicle was ok, the parts/component checked out fine and as such, no need to change .. edit to add that according to the Service Order, this part is called MOTOR COMP (EPS) and it cost MYR1,900(but no charge as it is a FOC replacement. Just curious that why this component is so expensive, maybe they change the whole motor... ) ..They didn't change mine, the subsequent tax invoice only have "Inspection" as a line item. Just want to share another common issue with CRV is the front bumper where the bottom black bumper is kind of detached from the bumper body creating visible and gap between the two. As i spoke to my SA, this is common issue and i have noticed this on 50% of CRV that i came across with.
Im at Honda SC no trying to fix mine. Hopefully they do it with quality and pose no defects to other parts. |

According to website, it says my model is affected. Upon sending for inspection by the service center, it was ok, not affected. |

Upon sending for inspection by the service center, it was ok, not affected. Oh ya, not only Honda Sensing model will have the steering wheel motor (for lane departure), all models has this fatigue alert where if the car feel that you're sleepy, it will vibrate the steering wheel, this is when the EPS motor is used. Hence all models will be affected depending on the batch. Understood. |

My layman thinking is that the EPS is just to power the steering wheel, not to alert you due to departure of lane caused by fatigue. So all cars have power steering will need the EPS. |

So all cars have power steering will need the EPS. The EPS (Electric Power Steering) components are supplied in batches. Some have a problem while some are not affected. They can easily trace from the lot/batch numbers. This could be the reason why some cars are recalled while others are not. |
