How much it costs for the screen screen protector?
*
Yea our special CRV club price is RM100. The usual price is actually RM119.90. This screen protector is of good quality made from film imported from South Korea, according to the Presizes guy. There are of course cheaper alternatives out there, but they are mainly made of China film which most are of low quality

One thing i notice, doing highway will improve it. Initially the total was 5k then i did some outstation to PG n JB where it improves till now. I am also going to do my service this weekend.

9800km is a good mileage that you have achieved!
Yeah, I also notice that it improves if you drive longer distance, alas I don't have such opportunity (good thing also).
Let's see if it will improves the second time around.

Congrats. How is the car so far?

Still considering if wanna go for 2.0.

Power is adequate but there won't be any quick take-offs.

Suspension is soft for comfort bias obviously. Body roll is prominent. So, the feel, steer and handling is typically Japanese. The CX5 wins in this department.

I think I have to change my opinion on CVTs. The one in the CR-V is refine and positive.

The cabin and boot are huge compared to, say, the CX5.

I have not build up enough mileage to give a more accurate reading on the fuel consumption.

Very true that driving longer distances affect the oil change interval. Am now at Botanic Auto Mall for 10,000 KM service. The system displayed "Engine Oil Replacement Overdue" by the time i reached - reading was negative 40 plus KM for the oil change service when I parked the car (5th Gen CR-V, 1.5TC AWD), ODO reading was 9945 KM. Typical daily drive is around 40 plus KM per way, with occasional long distance drives, eg KL to Penang.

Anyway, if you want to save some money, do inform the SA that you want the fully synthetic oil from the STORAGE TANK (and not the 4L bottle) as you will be charged on usage basis. Quantity utilised for 10,000 KM service is 3.2L and the cost is RM108.77 + 6% GST = RM115.29. I had to specify after reviewing the service order, the default is the 4L bottle which costs more. Curious if there is any benefit in storing the approx 800ml balance oil if you took the 4L bottle option - anyone with experience who can tell if you can bring the balance oil to the service centre for the next service or is it just for self top up?

For me, the oil cost is OK as I am used to purchasing Chemlube 10W-30 fully synthetic motor oil from Bay Brothers (PJ) at roughly RM55-60 per US quart (close to 1L) and typically need around 4 quarts for previous ride, 3rd Gen CR-V 2.0 AWD. Labour charge for oil change at third party workshop in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam is approx RM25.

The service time is about 45 minutes, but then again, they only drove the car away for servicing about 30 minutes after the Service Order so you should allocate waiting time of at least 90 minutes from the time you drop your car at pre-scheduled service time.

For reference, the cost of the standard package service is as follows (all amounts AFTER GST):

1. 10,000 KM service maintenance: RM95.40
2. labour for engine oil + drain plug/gasket: RM39.75
3. washer/drain 14mm: RM1.89
4. Fully synthetic SN 0W-20 (3.2L): RM115.29

Total damage: RM252.33

Thank you for the update. Appreciate the candid feedback. I will look around this month and decide. If I do get the crv, I’d like to get the 2.0 rather than the turbo 1.5. The con would be the road tax $438.80.

For the turbo owners, how is the servicing cost so far?

Update: ok just read the post above. Seems reasonable servicing cost.

You can order thru me in order to get it with our special CRV club price of RM100. If u can wait then I can arrange him to help us again during our next TT. Or if u want it faster then they'll mail it to u and u can self install it. If u watch their tutorial video it is actually not difficult at all nod.gif

Thanks for the tip of using the storage tank instead of the 4L bottle! I forgot about it. Next round!

Btw, you should not be using phone to take pictures at 88km/h!

I thought the storage tank is 0-20w for na engine. The turbo must use 0-30w for more protection from the bottle?

When all doors are closed, you hear a beep - the car is telling you all the doors are closed properly. Walking away from the car, you hear another beep - and this signifies that the car is locked. You can also manually lock it by touching on the stripped bump on top of the handle of the driver&passenger door handle.

The walk away auto-lock is not default setting as in the Mazda CX-5. You have to go to the head unit to set it yourself.

Just follow the instruction in the manual. Go try it again.

Been using CRV for 3 weeks... found out...
1. Strong vibration when in idle condition i.e. when not
moving and "N" gear, can feel the vibration when you lean ur head on the window.
2. Sound proof sucks...even when on idle condition, still can hear sound from engine..
especially when cruising at 80 100 speed, can hear
tyre noise and engine roaring..

Did you guys have same issue?
Gonna test drive other CRV and compare...

Regarding #2, do check your tyre pressure.

My 2.0L model was delivered to me with 40 psi air in the tyres. I have since adjusted it down to 32 psi and the ride is so much better and the road noise much reduced. The recommended tyre pressure is 30 psi though.
