Any recommendations ? Also can I just use the VPN in Huawei E5186 Router so everyone which connects will have VPN connected ?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Oct 21 2017, 10:19 AM) Anyone tried Roam like home in Singapore. It seems that I can't use LTE here. No problem. Been using it almost every weekday as I am working at sg. Just be caution, it will not automatically select starhub as roaming Telco. Need to manually search. For my case, everyday will roam to singtel. Need to manually connect to star hub.

Need some advice here. i am currently using e5186.
In my area B8 is the most stable at 25mbps all day (but crappy upload at 4mbps which i am not concerned at all). B7 is the worst in terms of line stability and most congested. B3 is fairly reasonable. B3+B7 CA can reach 30mbps off peak time, but at 10-20mbps peak time.
I am looking at b525 for B8+B3/7 CA capability. but i am interested with b618 as it is the latest model. can b618 support CA on B8 and with which band combo ?
the other thing is the webui for b525/618 hv options to select specific band without the need to use of external apps (ltewatch etc) like those in e5186 ?
thanks.

QUOTE(tcsee @ Oct 22 2017, 08:46 PM) hi, need some help here. I bought Huawei E5186s-61a. Downloaded the Huawei HiLink android app. The app has one option called "Internet Access Method":- It allows you to select "Auto-obtain IP address (DHCP)" or "Broadband (PPPoE)". Which option should I choose? It is currently defaulted to DHCP. In my house has 5 devices connected to this E5186 modem. NVM, I figure out already, using DHCP suits better for me. As I have devices hop on or off pretty often. Searched internet it says DHCP is more favorable than PPPoE now due to the seamless connection protocol.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 21 2017, 11:09 PM) Though he has shown the device information but I'm quite curious how did you validate it is 22a variant by looking at the front part of router? Isn't all E5186 look the same regardless of the variant? by logo lol... 61 series mostly optus
