I'm back. OK, here it goes. I have AC 790s as well and thanks to chuah's help, he has helped me to set up and now I can choose different bands manually. thumbup.gif

Luckily I didn't go and sell off my E5186 because my AC 790s is about 2-3x slower than E5186. laugh.gif

Also, I discovered today that my room actually has no LTE-A. laugh.gif However, single band of B3 can clock 67Mbps with E5186, I'm very happy already. tongue.gif

AC 790s will remain as my jalan2 device when I go back hometown and can try CA and other stuff. laugh.gif Until I get my B618, I will not let go E5186.

Sekian. I hope this clears the air about E5186-22a vs AC 790s. thumbup.gif

I only paid around RM 230, really no doubt it is a good deal. I may need time to tweak it around to maximize its potential.

Not scared of cancer living so close to the base station? laugh.gif

Anyway, on the 790s, did you try connect to MIMO antenna? Maybe can improve the speed.

Digi Center also not guarantee good signal.

If you say beside a Digi Base station, then you got a case.

Finally got a powered 1800MHz cell phone signal booster.
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09...._u=l2nnegv78eb1

Ordered together with a 8dbi Panel antenna and an 18-element (15dbi or 12dbi?) Yagi DCS 1800MHz (band 3) antenna.
Aiming the Yagi directly at the cell tower gives the best result. But the panel antenna is already giving pretty good speeds to begin with

Pros
Speed on Phone increased tremendously. (It's a cell phone signal booster laugh.gif )
SINR improved from 2dBi to 7dBi, and I don't have to sit at a specific place to get good speeds on the mobile

Cons
Because it is cheaply made, it gives out a ton of interference. If I placed it at the wrong place, say next to my wifi router, I will not be able to detect my WiFi SSID. So placement of the TX antenna from the booster is important.
Single band B3 cannot beat a well placed 'MIMO antenna' with LTE-CA enabled

The key takeway is, that 'MIMO antenna' for the price and size, is really bang for buck device.
Next, I will try the booster at my hometown, where the DIGI coverage is non existant in house. Hopefully it will work better in that environment.

New method of Digi Capping on 150 Infinite.

I am getting 30Mbps via speed test D/U
Watching 4k streams on Youtube, I can stream them without any issues even at peak hours 8pm-10pm.

Try to stream from Rapid Video/Daily Motion, and the speed slows down to 1Mbps.

Mine is consistently -53 and I have no idea where the tower is, should be quite near to me. laugh.gif
This means?

Better put on the tin foil hat.
If not, you will get brain cancer bye.gif

53dBm is quite near. My friend has trouble locking his car due to the interference when his car lock battery was low.

Im just take a luck using this 3g antenna bought longggg time ago from coolstore, and wholaaaa, signal increase from 1/2 bar to steady 4 bar..oh im using only one antenna, set it auto, B310 detects it antenna1 ext, antenna2 internal. Thought it is only for 3g..but it works..
*
This is a WCDMA Antenna.
B3 LTE - DCS 1800MHz is also using the same type of antenna.

As such, this antenna is working with LTE.
Just fix your band to B3 in order to maximize the performance.

Yeah, digi is doing thing behind. Same situation, when the plan freshly out, can get 40mbps above. now only 1-5mbps. So much inconsistency
Seems like digi is trying to slow down infinite users stage by stage with excuses of congestion stuff.

Feel like TM is going to win the war at the end.
unifi bonanza incoming

Restart your router daily.
Found that my E5186 will slow down everyday.

After restart I get back the high speed.

you can buy lintratek booster

[Yagi antenna] ====[amplifier]====[omni antenna]

it comes with single band B3 or B7.

there's a good review on this. from low 4G signal, to 4G+ with CA. Yes buying both set of booster
*
Tried 1x booster method with Yagi on B3. Still cannot beat MIMO antenna due to MIMO antenna being 2T2R (B3+B7)
Too many looses from the connector, cable, Omni <-> LTE modem. Unless you install both B3 and B7 boosters.

Booster will work if you want to boost your cellphone signal.
But for Digi Infinite where most of us are using it to replace our main internet line, it is not as effective.

I think digi has hidden cap or whatever

I download something, speed around 3 to 4 Mbps only

then i use mobile phone to do speedtest, while speedtest running, my download at pc shoot to 20Mbps ez pz. when speedtest done the speed down to 3-4Mbps again (speed at my area at this moment)

Added on
It just doesn't make sense, whatever I download, the speed is slow, when I do speedtest, the result can 20-30Mbps pulak rclxub.gif

I guest they are trying to temporary boost network priority when doing speedtest to fake result

I'm using this antenna..
but for some unknown reason.. i don't get any improvement at all ..
faced it all 360 degrees..

All that left.. is to put it up higher than my roof (but it only come with 2m cable) XD
*
That's the most bang for buck antenna.
If you cannot get better signal, then you will need to spend hundreds >RM500 with dual band signal boosters + dual yagi antenna.

Put higher than roof also no use sometimes.
Try put indoors with windows closed, the signal might be better, especially in high density areas. Filters out the weak signals.

found out this useful app from a FB friend in telegram group ,

for android user, can proceed to playstore download this
put your digi sim in the phone,
let the 4G/4G+ connect,
run this app, then you will see all the cell tower in your area either gsm or LTE,..
take note or screenshot it all,...
pay attention at which tower give you better speed,..
direct your mimo/Yagi antenna towards that cell tower will do the job,.

for those who in LTE A CA mode, check which 2 CA tower locate, point your antenna towards the centre direction of both CA tower will do the job,..

after a whole 2 evening messing with this direction thingy, finally got better speed
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

if u want a home CPE unit, better go for huawei B618,.

if u need a mobile on the go unit, better go for Netgear Nighthawk M1
*
This app only approximate the tower location. If you go to the location pointed by the app, there is nothing. But it is good in updating the RSSI in real time.
For more accurate tower location, use 'Network Cell Info'. It can tell you what tower, the Cell ID and the Band that you are currently connected. Also, the Cell ID number matches the ones you see in the Huawei ToolBox. Which makes it much easier for you to verify your measurements.

Some towers have both Band 3 and Band 7. So just point the MIMO directly towards the tower.

Guys, if B7 exist in my area does that mean my area able to get LTE-A? But the RSRP is quiet low, -100. For B3, RSRP is fluctuating -68 to -74. Currently during peak hours I manage to get 15Mbps DL/UL. Still pretty fast considering my place is rural & no unifi avail.
Using B310s-22 without external antenna. Kinda regret didnt get LTE CA modem. sad.gif
*
Yes you can get lte-A.
Rsrp -100dbm is indeed quite low. But with 2CA, the speed should be good.

Hook up a mimo antenna and your speed should increase.

Hello! Can someone please recommend me the best external MIMO antenna for my Huawei E5785? The antenna should be able to support LTE-A. Budget shouldn't be a problem but the antenna needs to be portable and convenient as I always travel a lot. Thank you!

Is this recommended? Does this help to boost my Huawei e5785 coverage and speed? Is this the best antenna ever? Any reviews please. smile.gif

Yeap.

There is one seller claims that if your indoor and outdoor signal bar is almost the same, there is no point getting external antenna to boost it. 😅
*
Most of us are using the '88dbi' MIMO Antenna.
Best bang for buck.
Don't know the actual gain of the antenna, but it does a hell of a good job

Indoor vs outdoor. In places with large signal interference, sometimes it is better to place your antenna indoors to shield it from all the weak signals kacau-ing your base station lock.

For my case, I put my antenna indoors, pointed line of sight to the base station.
Placing outdoors gets me little to no improvement, with risk to rain/heat damage.

BTW, to effectively point antenna, first you need to find out which base station is the strongest, and point towards it. Use apps like network cell info, which gives the best base station location.
