Gaming is never a cheap hobby in the first place.

If you can get a computer that is capable of gaming, you should be able to get at least 1-2 originals.

If you buy games for Steam, you don't pay tax anyways.

Perhaps with the new GST in 2012, we might need to start paying +4% on Steam for every game.

Off topic again:

GST is a broad-based tax.

Everything will get taxed unless it is in the list of exemption which I doubt PC games will be in.

Actually it depends.
By law, games, in forms of Media Physical like DVD/CD are TAX-ABLE.
So yes, you can claim the tax.

But there's some people who import games from overseas without being taxed. tongue.gif

E.g. There's some shop selling MW2 @ RM219 and RM199

Perhaps pirated copies maybe affected by GST as well.

Now they gotta pay extra 4% on their disc they buy to burn.

And they can't claim it, therefore the cost is definitely going to the ultimate customers big time.

Like how they do in the US (for certain States)

Make it embedded into Steam.

Either they have a company/branch here to contact or our government go find them.

I doubt it will be implemented straight away.

When GST comes in, buying games will be least of our problems.

sometime, financial problem, if u wait until the game got promo, sure that time is very hard to past, watching people playing that game...

until the time u got the ori one, no one play that game, then what the point of playing that game?

I dunno? Coz its a fun way to waste time?

Unless you're talking about a multiplayer game... whereby the promo is usually preceded by a free weekend of sorts and would usually result in a surge of new and returning players, so can't say that there'll be no one to play with either.

From Steam, GOG, Impulse = legit.

Torrents and other P2P where you don't pay = pirating.

Are you implying that OLD games are all worthless?
Unless you're talking about Non-SP/multiplayer-support game only, I can't comprehend what you're trying to say.
