See if a bigger man hole can be had near the plumbing point and another for accommodating the diameter of the tangki. It doesn't need to accommodate the whole length. Say diameter is 37cm, the access panel need only be 45cm by 45cm. It should offset 10-14" from the mounting wall. Imagine you're the installer....where should this manhole be for maintenance access, uninstall and reinstall. Based on their spec, a diameter of 43 cm for up to 50l. The next largest has a diameter of 51cm. For those, perhaps a service panel of 60x60cm should be cut no nearer than 12".

Perhaps there should be two manhole on either end to ease and facilitate drilling before mounting with one of them giving access to the plumbing too. Hope you can imagine what's being said.

mine is 18" x 18", which is good for many situation. If the storage tank is bigger, will need 24" x 24" but that don't look very nice.

I got the same storage heater and i noticed it is leaking from a crevice near the inlet pipe.

I had cut off the inlet.

Now I plan to use water proof epoxy and just cover the crevice and the seals near the inlet.

Would this work?

I pasted some epoxy. doesn't work as the water will seep out from else where. not sure if I can just epoxy the whole thing

Just don’t fucking repair it. I paid rm400 to replace the heating element then it started leaking shortly after or maybe right after I don’t know. They came twice to check, first time no issue just not tightened enough or something. Second time the leak is irreparable and quoted me 1k plus to replace a new one (not Meru brand anymore). Guess what next? It exploded the following Monday. Just replace with a reputable brand like Joven.

Hi for leaking case, only the following 2 cases can be repaired :
i) Gasket leaks or
ii) Inlet / outlet pipe leaks.

Leaking from any part of the body ( Stainless Steel tank ) is beyond repair at site. Of cause if you insist to repair, it is
possible but you need to dismantle, bring down the heater, send to factory, do pressure test, re welding if can detect the leaks,
pressure test again after welding and reinstall water heater back. It is so much hassle and Not worth the efforts. That is why
people dont repair it.

Normally a PRV ( pressure release valve ) will be installed at the inlet pipe to prevent over pressured/ over heated inside the
Water tank, thus avoid unwanted explosion. ( tho cases of explosion is only 0.0001 % ! )
For bigger tank, some install TPV ( temperature pressure release valve ) at the outlet pipe. Double protection, this is the safest way.

The model you mentioned is an air cond heater, water will only be heated up after you turn on the air con unit.

This model is Not really popular because of the efficiency and also not many technician know how to repair this.

Now new rulings by SIRIM and Suruhanjaya Tenaga is that all Storage Water Heaters need to come pre-installed with Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) at the inlet and Isolation Barriers at both inlet and outlet. So far Storage Water Heaters market leaders like CENTON and JOVEN already implemented it for their new heaters, so u don't have to buy PRV separately.

Suggest you get the new tank, then sell it.
