Meru Water heater storage tank leaking, Please help.Urgent.

I got the same storage heater and i noticed it is leaking from a crevice near the inlet pipe.
I had cut off the inlet. Now I plan to use water proof epoxy and just cover the crevice and the seals near the inlet. Would this work? |

I pasted some epoxy. doesn't work as the water will seep out from else where. not sure if I can just epoxy the whole thing

damn. already turned off and not using it for a week. gonna remove the putty. so this can't DIY fix?
