Anyone working with Java development on Windows Platform?

Please let me know about the compatibility of Java Development platform such as Netbeans SDK and JDK on Vista.
*
Netbeans worked since the BETA version of Vista, as I used that. JDK works fine too.

the word you're looking for is "Compatible", and yes, it's compatible.
@ffrulz: you really think MS will let you use Firefox?

I don't know if any of you actually notice, that the point of discussion, is to make things better, fix things up, patch, give tips and tricks on how to solve problems.

If you don't like Vista outlook, don't try it in the first place.

Please be more constructive by providing ways/suggestions/tips to make you Vista computing more fun and enjoyable.

I have been using Vista for two months, sure I encounter problems, but when I found the solutions on the Net that works or at least get me where I need to go, I feel the fun and enjoying the time fixing up things.

BTW, do you have problem with Secondlife not running on Vista, here is a tip. Upgrade your video driver to the latest (beta even), and make sure your card is listed in the compatibility list. Hehe, sincerely your Secondlife buddy, Najimi Kohime.

I do agree with you. I'm quite fedup with ppl coming in here saying "Oh! Vista is crap because my ram usage is higher" without knowing how the os works and stuff. Bah!

heh, and where actually in that report does Microsoft really admit it was a failure? And considering that The Enquirer's report are pro Open Source that I stopped reading them years ago, I don't really pay much attention if that comes from them. And again, if you read correctly, it was the view of just one journalist, and it don't mean that if a journalist wrote it, it's true.
And somehow people forgot that Microsoft continues to sell Windows 98 SE up even after the launch of XP, because of compatibility problem. Hey! Deja Vu!
If you want to read some view of a journalist that wrote like Bill Gates broke into his house and raped his wife and daughter and made his personal vendetta to plagriasm Microsoft every chance he got, hey, it's up to you

Mesa Dynamics released a converter to convert Google Gadgets into Sidebar Gadgets
http://amnesty.mesadynamics.com/GeneratorWin.html

QUOTE
Hey all. Just thought you might be interested in our new free application, Amnesty Generator, that automatically converts Google "Universal" gadgets into Vista Sidebar gadgets.
Note that it is not a developer's tool, just a small utility for regular Vista users to add some of the 3000+ Google gadgets to their sidebar. Since it just "wraps" HTML into a gadget template it also supports "conversion" from other web gadgets, even video embeds from YouTube.

This is a port of our same application for OS X -- and our first Windows app -- so feel free to send us comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. We'd really appreciate the feedback. It's a beta release, so we'll be finishing up the app over the next couple of months.

Thanks!

Danny

2GB ram is just meet the standard requirement of vista.(regrardless wat they say 1G is enuf.
The more u use vista the faster the system will work.
but this aint come cheap as the hardware need better requirement.(maybe 4G ram)
wat is your index score?

I think the best is you wait for new patch for your game.or better get a 32bit? biggrin.gif

since you comparing with xp..
here some reviews:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/01/29/xp-...r_windows_vista

i got no problem with vista...if for normal usage la...surf, movie, mp3...etc tec
but for work/game...i rather use xp for the time being.
*
But then again, if ur using 4GB, you can't use 32bit OS as it only supports up to 3GB. and it will be a lot of wastage as you'r not usually utilising all of the RAMs that you have anyways, unless you're running a server multitasking all teh times

32Bit will only use 3GB, while 64Bit can use up to 128GB of rams. You are just wasting 1GB of ram if ur using 32GB.
And more rams != more open software. You also need the processing power to handle that. heck, I don't think you even need 2GB to open 5 games

Did you realise that even if the processor is 64bit, if the OS is 32bit it means that IT STILL RUNS ON 32BIT AND WILL STILL USE ONLY 3GB OF RAMS? Duhhhhh....

RTM has more prefetch usage than RC2. Higher usage, but faster computer responce. And anyways, it can automatically free needed rams in a flash

By transferring account he meant going online activating it.
Just install in the new PC and activate. It's that simple. You cannot do this for OEM because the licence is tied for one PC only.
