Why does ppl seems so bothered with Service Packs these days? XP ran for years before SP1 was released, and nobody had an issue with that during that time. And unless there are major updates, Service Pack for vista will still be a long way off, and you can always get updates from windows updates

QUOTE(ukiya @ Jul 9 2007, 08:12 PM) the more advance operating system can go, the more virus will be created !!! Service packs are different from antivirus. While there are security patches in Service Packs, there is no substitute for a good antivirus. And honestly, Service PAcks are not about security either. Remember that Service Packs are updates for new technology, and unless the new technology are introduced, there is no need for them. For example before SP1, there was no motherboard that complied to the USB2.0 yet. All of them used USB1.1. But then motherboard manufactures were adding USB 2.0 ports, thus SP1 added this support to windows.why !? there is no ending for this war!!! |

QUOTE(Bryan901010 @ Jul 10 2007, 09:45 AM) Retardation post needs immediate flaming answer1 - From the way you post you are certainly not an adult as you are scared of the so called "Child Lock", which apparently, only a child will be affected 2 - Only a child would not have taken the initiative to check on the internet about the so called "Child Lock", which if he checked, he would find it non existant, and in fact, it was the UAC, which in fact are targeted for worms and backdoor traojan, and not kids. 3 - Ambil 20sen, pergi main jauh - jauh. Jangan kaco orang tua nak bincang. Pih, pih |

Some can run on XP drivers, while others needs new ones. Note that some manufacturers will not release new drivers. This is a ploy for you to buy new hardware that is supported by Vista. Case of fact was my Canon Scanner/printer. It won't work on vista and when I called Canon support center, they said that they will not be releasing an updated driver and wanted me to buy a new one. And they have the cheek to say that they will not refund me or let me trade in that printer, even tho it's not even 2 month old!!

The same thing happens with XP actually. Overloading the OS will crash anything. Not just Vista

QUOTE(cylon @ Jul 30 2007, 01:51 PM) Anyone having problems with very, very slow internet connection after installing Quicktime 7.2 on Vista? I had to reinstalled a few times for troubleshooting and find out the maybe Qt 7.2 is the culprit. There is a virus spreading from Mac PC that uses Quicktime + JAVA. Apple Computer and Symantec said that this can also infect Windows and Apple said not to use JAVA. I prefer the Symantec solution, uninstall QuickTime and use QuickTime Alternative |

Seems that the low end 8600 has low FPS issue. Other than that it's fine. Expect problem to be resolved after more mature drivers are released

QUOTE(dopodplaya @ Aug 1 2007, 04:17 PM) ^ for a normal human with healthy eyes, anything above 30fps is smooth, I just don't get the hype of getting 60fps in a game? yes, if ur watching TV, which is why 24FPS is enough. But for game playing, the eye/Brain coordination will actually lag a little bit when processing pictures at these kinds of speeds and it will effect decision making, which is why pro gamers prefer 80FPS or more. In a sense, teh faster teh game the more FPS you need for your brain to compensateAre gamers bunch of perfectionist robots? QUOTE It should also be noted that there is a rather large controversy over what is known as the "feel" of the game frame rate. It is argued that games with extremely high frame rates "feel" better and smoother than those that are just getting by. This is especially true in games such as a first-person shooter. There is often a noticeable choppiness perceived in most computer rendered video, despite it being above the flicker fusion frequency. This choppiness is not a perceived flicker, but a perceived gap between the object in motion and its afterimage left in the eye from the last frame. A computer samples one point in time, then nothing is sampled until the next frame is rendered, so a visible gap can be seen between the moving object and its afterimage in the eye. Many driving games have this problem, like NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup for Xbox, and Gran Turismo 4. The polygon count in a frame may be too much to keep the game running smoothly for a second. The processing power needs to go to the polygon count and usually takes away the power from the framerate. The same reason I hate GT4 is it's stuck at 60FPS XD |
