You want to wait for how long? IMO, this time is the lowest price you can get for RAM now....

depends on the codec.
On the RAM Pricing, it's just years of experience living near both Lowyat and PC fair. |

don't defrag. It defrags automatically when you're using it. Manual defrag is making it slower, and index file in my system is less than 100 MB for 600++gb of HDD space, so indexing is not an issue. more of TEMP files

yeah, but still, my index files never exceed 100MB, even when I indexed 600GB of hdd space. go to user/<username>/local settings/application data/temp. usually temp files are deleted after usage but some software will left traces of their usage in there

Mine is still the same as it was in XP |

QUOTE(adriankhoo153 @ Apr 17 2007, 08:11 AM) No la, you can still play RM and RMVB files even if you don't install MPC. MPC is just a stripped down and lighter version of WMP. You just need the Real Alternative codec installed to make RM and RMVB files run. Don't believe me? Drag RM files into your WMP and it can play just fine. QUOTE(TH_0108) I installed K-Lite Mega Codec Pack ver 1.71. My real player got problem playing AVI files. It can play the AVI in normal mode but when expand to full screen, they'll be only sound no picture. Strange The AVI files however play fine on window media player and media player classic... I have this problem once. It seems that my graphic drivers and codecs are conflicting with a background process. I forgot what process that was as it was not a Microsoft but a 3rd party process. I reinstalled the codecs and the graphic drivers and it works after that. QUOTE(RX-78-2) i just got my new laptop Lenovo Y400 28A preloaded with Vista Home Basic. Problem found: 1. Unable to play DVD movie. 2. Can't detect my WIFI access point 3. A lot of program are not running well For this, i already decided to get back to Windows XP. but i search through MS web and found that there is no downgrade right for Vista Home. it's such a waste to have preloaded OS which is almost useless. Anybody can tell me how to do? and what do you mean from "there is no downgrade right for Vista Home". Either you grammar is wrong or my eyes is deceiving me |

the only thing that I didn't understood in that sentence was "there is no downgrade right for Vista Home". If you left the "right", it would have made sense as Vista Home Basic is the lowest spec. And you didn't ask for an upgrade for Home Premium?
Home Basic is more than just no Aero. Multimedia and network support are limited. and it's just an entry Vista for first time users who want to do office work only QUOTE(adriankhoo153) Is it true? Can play Rm or rmvb in WMP 11 ah? Never try that b4.. How's the quality then? Same with WMP Classic? As it uses the same codec pack, yes, it will be the same. Heck. I rather use WMP when playing FLV as MPC don't have loop function..... |

QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Apr 18 2007, 01:46 AM) Heyya all, 1. Seems that the fonts got bigger. Try pressing CTRL + scrolling up or down on your mouse scroller. I've been using vista for more than a month now and liking every bit of it. But its not all sunshine and raibows. Well I aspect it not to be that perfect as I installed it on my 5 years old lappie. It's a suprise that my lappie can run vista, better than my old trusted XP. My lappie's spec: Pentium 4M 1.8GHz 768MB RAM GeForce4 440 Go 32MB 120GB HDD The boot up is fast, faster than XP and a refreshing upgrade to the UI although I can't use the aero stuff with all it's eye candy bells and whistle. Can't complain much with the GC in my lappie. I have a few question on vista. Hope U all can help me with this. 1. Why is my WMP options look like this » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Sometime happened to other program too. 2. How to get the weather gadget to work. Every time I try to search location it shows "Service not available". » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 3. I'm using and old version of nvidia driver (77.77 from laptopvideo2go) that didn't have any problem that i know of but can I use the latest driver (forceware 158.18) for my GC? Thanks guys in advance ... 2. Firewall maybe 3. If the driver supports vista, why not? |

Right click on the sidebar, choose add, and at the bottom, choose to find online. You will be directed to the MS sidebar site. If you can't find the one you want, try http://aeroxp.org/board and go to the microsoft sidebar section
