QUOTE(koolspyda @ Aug 12 2017, 11:16 PM)
I agree getting keita is more an key asset before VVD but we won't be able to get him this season and probably even next cause our competitors will nick him before we know it.

Getting plan b (players), our plan b players are mid to lower league clubs. We been doing it for years. Honest.

I honesty feel the failed transfer targets are more of FSG haggling pasar malam offers. Sure no one wants to pay over value but we were willing to fork record price for carrol (then). Ok some said it was a panic buy

That must have speak volume our scouts. But truth is the truth they way we search for player (hoping to turn stone to diamonds)
*
Agreed. For sure Keita and VVD are upgrades over our first 11. But surely they can't be the only 2 players in the world capable of that? We are not Real Madrid, we aren't that good! There has to be players out there capable of improving us maybe not to the ability of Keita and VVD but an upgrade regardless. Considering the amount of money we were willing to spend on those 2 players, I'm sure we can comfortably afford most alternative targets out there.

DESpite what joey says, klopp is an upgrade from Brendan Rodgers. I'm adamant on that even if people continue to want me to look at Brendan's stellar 2nd place.

Klopp on Coutinho: "I have to accept decisions from owners. That's how it is - and sometimes from players.

It doesn't sound good. It will come down to FSG's resolve.

BR? Nah. That 2nd place contributed mostly by Suarez brilliance. I think this has been recognized repeatedly in previous posts by most of us here.

On to the next match, and I hope we will sign a CB & a good playmaker before the window closes. Klopp ain't perfect & he himself should know that.

Klopp respects the club that hires him, the owners, this is how he is. diplomatic. Never have I heard (that I know off) of klopp having a run in with the board/football club. Some might label as a yes man but I think not.

Ego are typical of any top manager(s). False ego blinds shortcomings.

That statement might mean somewhere, someone up there might yield?? (On courtinho?) Do you think?

I don't think he is necessarily a yes man to FSG's moneyball policy. If anything, he is a fan of it. He is someone who shares similar ideologies with FSG.

Yup bad start.

But Burnley is tough cookie. If I'm not mistaken they took out all the big clubs except one club if I'm not mistaken

In the end they only had 9 men against Burnley.
Losing 2-3. They will struggle with those red carded lost but they have enough quality to bounce back. I'm sure they won't do another mourinno season after being champions.

We need to pick ourselves up quickly. Despite good pre season results, it means nothing if we hung ourselves on CL qualifiers.

Have you just started supporting Liverpool? There is no way we can pick up so quickly. CL qualifiers? Nah. We as LFC fans do not deserve all the good things. This whole club is cursed I tell you. I think Rafa must have made a deal with the devil at Istanbul.

Klopp has been here for some times now and our defence is still as poor as when Klopp inherited. IMO, it's 50% system and 50 % personnel. Klopp is way too stubborn and he sees everything as a challenge. Sometimes it's not a good thing.

Transfer targets wise, Klopp said that he only want Plan A target. So the question is, is he stubborn for not wanting plan B target or is our scouts are not able to identify targets who are good enough to be the plan B?

I think everyone here will agree that there must be someone out there in the whole football world who is good enough to be alternative for VVD/Keita. Klopp is a clown if he really thinks VVD/Keita is one of a kind. The whole idea of spending 70M on VVD/Keita or else no one comes in is a big big joke. It just doesn't make any sense.

Again, it's okay to be annoyed and frustrated with the transfer window and last night's performance.

Saying stuff like "believe" or "it's still too early" does not make you a better supporter.

As a supporter, I always want the best for the club. Hence the frustration and anger.

As usual, no plan B after the pursuit of VVD and Keita fell off the wheels.

Typical of Klopp and Liverpool.

Faith alone don't win you games. Solid investment and quality players do. The sooner we realise the harsh reality, the better off we are.

And Stop watching Hollywood movies....

Ok, say for instance we know or don't know who indentifies or scouts for talent?

Most managers rely on feedback or having their trust scouts who searches players from other leagues (or in some cases we think (LFC scouts) they only watch opponents of LFC (players who score or play well against us 😓)

Or those alternatives simply not capable to adapt gegenpressing (i.e. Balotelli, can't teach old dogs new tricks)??

Just watched Arsenal v Leiceister highlights, well I just want to give credit to Wenger brilliance in his substitution. Subs both Ramsey and Giroud in, then both of them scored to help Arsenal win the games. No matter how I see it, Wenger should get the most credit in that.

Klopp's decision in substitution need to better.

ya klopp's substitutions were an attempt to park the bus...bringing in abit more muscle on the right side with origi/milner/gomez...all were basically lacklustre.
should have just brought solanke on to try and finish the game...

There were quite a number of good chances Mo had throughout the game. Just "IF" he took it better we would not be in this situation. Just saying... still felt we should get the 3 points sad.gif

keita has one good season. no doubt he has lots of potential but if we fail to sign him this season, it's a blessing in disguise. give him another season at RBL, playing in UCL and see how he performs plus he is available at cheaper price next season.

VVD in the other hand is a priority. we need to sign any center back at his quality or better ASAP. Matip and lovren are injury prone, klavan too slow, gomez too lightweight and sakho is for sale.

coutinho is as good as gone but if he stays, he still need to perform to get in the World Cup team. but his heart is no longer here and we should identify a replacement quickly. right now the only player who I could think of is Mahrez. he plays as RM at Leicester but I don't think he has a problem operating as our creative playmaker in the center. epl proven, dribbler, creative and good finisher.
