Guys, need a clarification on hotel charges. My friend told me that staying in a hotel, we will be charged per person instead of room. But, googling shows charges are based on room. But Im not sure from google there, as an example RM300 is actually the price of a room or referring to per person?
*
usually got write one room how many persons, if more extra charges.

Yes, 2 power bank is not an issue. Friends and I brought 2 power bank each!
I see that you tripled the excitement! icon_idea.gif

Jokes aside; its okay, you can always fly to Hokkaido and Okinawa for a long holiday.

Hi guys, I will be travelling to Tokyo in Oct, and as you all know, Air Asia flight arrive late night. I will be staying at Suginami area, and the safest bet is to take the taxi there. The question is, do I need to book a cab or there will be plenty there? I will be travelling in a group of 6 people.

Taxi drivers thrives at night as all other modes of transportation is down.
I used to hang out at the roof of my accommodation just looking at the street.. saw taxis passed by every 5-10 mins.. so I assume there will be plenty at the airport.
Just note that it may cost you quite a bit, with the midnight rate and all.

Just look out for the taxi sign and follow it and you come to the taxi queue. Just make sure you know which line to go which is base on destination. But you have 6 people + luggage and this means you might need either a 7 seater of two taxis. So really depends on your luck if a 7 seater appears. At one time I need a 7 seater due to my luggage and it was raining heavily. One of the taxi driver was very nice enough to help me flagged the 7 seater that was far up in the queue.

From Haneda Airport to Suginami are 40Km + Midnight Rate

With my 700 time to Japan Experience....It wont go wrong
My Est Fare most minimum will be 16000 Yen // RM600

2 taxi due to 6 pax......Rm1200 already or maybe more to Rm1500

If Taxi driver using highway to Suginami Area, There will be another additional Highway charges.

Overnight at Airport or Taxi....Your call smile.gif

I can confirm this. My taxi ride from Nihonbashi to Odaiba was roughly 10km. Added with traffic jam it took about 30min to reach there.
The fare was.. if i recall correctly... 7000+ yen.

Another time I took taxi was from somewhere in Osaka to Kobe. 1hour/30+km smooth ride, fare was about 10000+ yen.

The conclusion is, taxi is pretty darn expensive. Either take taxi for ~35000 yen(RM1330), or overnight at airport and get the train for.. 4560 yen(760x6)*(RM175).

*rate from google maps. please check thoroughly(which train/tracks) before confirming.

Since Feb/March there was new pricing for taxi as well. Its cheaper for short distance, but much more expensive for distance more than 2KM. I used to take taxi back to my place after a business trip (company pay mah) and it was about 2K-3K more expensive after the raise.

its reliable but if im not mistaken there r also charges for extra baggage as one cab allowed max two baggage only, more than tht got extra pay. u have 6 person so u need two cabs no matter wat n tht will be around 20k yen + extra baggage fee lets say total 25k yen. thts MYR1000 d, u reach hotel straight sleep n the hotel will charge tht as one night d. i recommend overnight in airport instead.

Friends and I did @ our first trip. We were lucky because our arrival time was 1hr earlier than expected. However when we reached immigration it was a long queue and that took up the 1 hour extra we had from the early arrival. Thanks to that we managed to catch the last train. The alternative plan was to take the bus/ available train (there are trains that operate past 11+, take note of which line though) and get to somewhere near accommodation and then get a taxi. With shorter distance, it will be cheaper.

is that so?
by right when flying from JP to MY, its supposedly 1 hour less if timezone were to take into consideration, as we literally "gain" 1 hour extra upon landing on Malaysia soil
