You can get used box miner for really cheap if you found the source, for example 90% new kdbox can get for 7k rmb + freight and tax in is about another 150usd +- <-- for a lot of 10 units.

GPU mining still got market due to resell value and adaptation to alts. gpu prices falling also. 3060 for 1.7k last month, 60ti less than 2k can get <-- all 2 fan models. 3 fan starts from 2k++. China got a lot of non lhr going almost same price like our lhr here. you just need space, good ventilation, and constant supply / free electricity.

New asics you buy in futures is cheaper, take delivery end of april instead of now can save about 30%.

ppl will mine whatever is profitable or whatever they fancied

some will even mine somethings that's not profitable now and hoping it will worth a lot more in the future

ETH POS still gonna take a few more months, I'm guessing should be around 4Q or end of the year.

For a small time farmer like me, will farm ETH as main until POS, while farming others like RVN, RTM, XMR, BAN & CHIA on the side.

Sold my GPU farm last year and go into Chia.

Was running 150TB only, now start ramping up to 1PB after bought some cheap 16TB from Chia miner that gave up.

I got many TB as well, but pull out once notice its a solo mining, that time Chia new maybe $2k each and discounted to $1k rapidly

Wow~ IMO GPU mining is still much better than chia

Chia price has dropped quite a lot since last year, seems it's still on the downtrend, frequent dust storm nowadays doesn't help as well

my mini chia farm is coming to 1 year old, now only got 40% of ROI only
whereas my GPU farm setup around the same time already hitting the ROI few months back

The coin is just 1 year old, give it 3 years then see how it goes.

GPU still solid making daily returns

On the wall it's about 850w to 900w. Ordered mine for 28k rmb 9 cards kit. Still stick back to asics, talking about efficiency, there's a new asics for eth/etc coming right up. Loyaltech YM-200 mini. 6gb dag. SG co as per the description. Going for 2.6k usd per unit, 260mhs for 230w. Quiet miner like goldshell box series. Since all these miners running so low wattage, heat generated also lesser compared to gpu rigs. Not as quiet and cool like chia, still very good enough looking at the returns.

right... its the rise of these small miners that will kill off gpu mining literally. how can you compete in terms of efficiency and profits compared to stuff like these.
ethash ones can mine etc after pos no big deal. in fact solo mining makes more compared to pool mining.

In terms of profit, you can forget about it. Its just a cheap entry to mining experience. its similar to nicehash hashpower market place, you can use any profitability calculator and calculate your profit.
for example crypto compare key in the parameters amd you will have a rough idea.

If you are referring to nicehash alternative, its more or less the same % they will charge you. its like grab, your rating no good your profit also no good.

Kda, etc is trending, solo mine not in pool. getting one whole block for yourself is very very attractive.
BtC requires too much capex to be profitable, 50m upwards and setup requires niche expertise and connection to score the right hardware at right price.
ETH mine while you still can, dag size going 5gb in august or earlier so can expect some difficulty adjustment as some asics are not going to make it later. so there will be a period of time you can breath and hopefully score a block or 2 per month or more.

I'm ok if they make an asic plotter. My current average 1 hour per plot speed is really painful, still got so many hdd waiting to fill up with plots.

K32,33,34,35 ? get used servers ramp up the rams, can use readily available madmax plotter to plot. ECC rams works magic,
you can let your work station cards dedicated for AI to plot on insane speed for example quad nvlink.
if say you didnt let go of your 6x/8x gpu rigs, get one to try plotting. mod a lil on the driver and you should be good to go.

asic plotter will make your k32 obsolete in less than 3 years if say its readily on the mass market. still waiting for lottery and declining token price (<- sharp decline) not my cup of tea.

Currently not willing to spend a lot for plotter as after i'm done with k32, the plotter no use liao.
Low and declining token price also make asic not attractive to manufacture tho.

If asic really come out, hope Bram will change the plot logic then everyone restart plotting.
