Do you guys still think is it still worth it to invest RM11k for a RTX 3090 for Eth mining?

QUOTE(jett138 @ May 11 2021, 05:35 PM) Would say just do it, if after 2 months waiting cannot mine eth liao other coins not profitable can always be a scalper, ysmc say chip shortages until 2022 3rd quarter. I doubt existing Miner will throw 3090. am still paying for my new 3060Ti rig, full time mining for this one, plus part time mining for my old 5700XT11k if can sell to China you make another 11k. Besides mining 3090 is a great card for AI development. Build 3090 rig still cheaper than buying a100. So you don't need to worry about buyer. averaging usd20 per day based on the current bull market rate expecting another 2 or 3 months for the ROI if the current bull runs continues not sure if I should stretch my budget for a 3090 worried about its overheat issue also or should I spend another 5K for another 3060Ti |

QUOTE(jett138 @ May 12 2021, 07:25 PM) Check your settings again. I think your setup at current market is about 22 to 24 usd. 3060Ti is 24x7, whereas 5700XT is part time over night only, so averaging out around USD20ish laOverheat issues just stay away from msi and gigabyte, the rest should be OK. Or just diy and upgrade all thermal pads and grease by yourself. I just placed order for cmp 90hx and expected to receive in 3 to 4 weeks, damage is about 12k/ card. 3090 would be a good bet compared to cmp. 5k If can score for a 3070 is better than a 3060ti, although I did promote to get 3060ti before lol. I only keep 8 pcs of 3060ti and sold most of my stash out alrd. I find 3070 better in efficiency and oc for mining. 99w for 58mh/s. Cincai make also avrg on 54.5% efficiency, comparable to 5700xt of 90w for 55mh/s and better resale value or gaming purposes. |

QUOTE(LowKeras @ May 16 2021, 04:04 PM) Thanks, there few things i still consider am looking at the alienware R12 as wellIf order from dell alienware, it may slower (usually around 5 to 12days) but how slow? 2months? Chia mining, i will read some infor. Thanks for the confirmation Just i calculate if purchase rm 11,800 getting usd 12/day. My roi still over 230 days. Rtx 3080 @Rm8100 if us 11/day = roi 170 which less 60 days What you point of view? was told the delivery could take up to 3 months was deciding between the 3090 or the cheaper 3080 feels like the 3090 will be a better investment in the long run, but 3080 has the faster ROI but with the flash crash of the the crypto recently, the ROI will be much long if the price doesn't recover |

one day I was getting up to 0.005 ETH with 79 M/Hs daily hashrate, while today I've gotten only 0.003 ETH with 103 M/Hs daily hashrate?? any pool you guys can recommend? i see some recommend nicehash |

Dell quoted me RM7.5K for Alienware R12 with 3080
IMO it's very good price, but lead time is 2 to 3 months, and it's very likely the 3080 is a castrated LHS version, as OEM like Dell is very likely to get them first. Guess I'll KIV a new rig for now, get the ROI for existing rig first in next few months then see how |

QUOTE(sonypshomer @ May 20 2021, 11:38 AM) yeah, you can always request for return n refund if they shipped you a LHR verbut how would you know if it's a LHR version? Dell oem GPU doesn't have any labels on it except the nvidia light unless you've tried mining with it only then you'll know? |

QUOTE(dashisiong @ May 20 2021, 05:52 PM) Due to LHR version issue i just cancel 2 unit of XPS with 3060ti system with dell yesterday. grab the Alienware R12 3090 then I do not want to take the risk. Also after pulling out the card and try to resell the system is a issue too. Now shopee so many people are selling dell without card and the price keep dropping. Will just wait and see how the market react first. Remember now is the peak if you thinking of mining. Thanks that one guarantee non LHR their resell value might increase again once the market is flooded with LHR cards This post has been edited by greyshadow: May 20 2021, 09:57 PM |

QUOTE(jett138 @ May 21 2021, 08:13 AM) lol for gpu mining since its so quiet i got put in malls before same .51 cents, got free centralized a/c, security. Nobody will suspect anything. i did thought about renting those cheap mall lots that usually no body wants, can be cheaper than renting shotlots and comes with aircon tooput mining rig at real mining sites makes the cards really dirty in a month, even with water cooling cleaning the rads is a tiring job. everytime you blast the dust will be absorbed by your gpu lol. Yea that one, its cord quite thick, so you know if you overloaded just remove one plug or two. you cannot plug all 8 sockets full, most utilized also 6x or 3x depending on psu setup. i build with 2 psu to lessen the load, last time 1 psu the titanium ax1600 like hot potato. now with which ever psu as long as enough VGA for the rigs and both psu performs at half capacity. but the problem is the aircon wasn't 24x7, and it's switch on during mall operation hours only, at morning before the mall opens it can gets very hot & stuffy |

QUOTE(washedout @ May 22 2021, 06:16 AM) Hi fellow miners. I just got my R12 Alienware with a 3080 and did some casual mining. Sadly, I am getting only about 60MHs even aft tweaking the afterburner. Am expecting about 80MHs for a 3080. Kindly appreciate some advice on this. You guys can see more details in the screenshots below. try DDU your Nvidia driver and replace your DCH driver with standard Nvidia driversBased on my my device ID, I can safely say it's the current 3080 version not the LHR version. Am i right?https://imgur.com/a/WXpqyd1 Screenshot from my trex miner. https://imgur.com/a/9js87MI Cheers. INM some miner doesn't play well with DCH drivers |

I think Dell will see sudden mass cancellation of their alienware R12 or the XPS with the bubble burst recently
but I guess most of the miner is still observing the situation, to see if the bubble is real or not, or just a temporary mirage Don't think we'll see used mining cards flooding the market so soon in a week or two, probably another few more months if the crypto market is still on the down trend. |

QUOTE(dashisiong @ May 25 2021, 12:08 AM) oem means you only can claim warranty together with the system from the original builderif you bought the card standalone, it will not have any warranty GPU price now is subjective, how cheap is cheap depends on your wallet tolerance level there are peoples buying Dell system like XPS and Alienware and pull out the GPU to resell for profits their GPU aren't covered under Dell warranty once it's out of the original Dell box |

Guys, mind sharing your mining pool experience?
I started one month ago with my single GPU rig, using Binance pool, payout is once a day, and it gave you whatever you mined. That time is a bull market, so daily Eth payout is kinda good imo, but with the recent bear market, the Eth payout is pretty poor, getting only half of Eth with the same hash rate. So I tried to switch to nicehash since few days back, still observing the payout variations, but their payout is in BTC no matter what algorithm you used Used nanopool xmr on few of my decommissioned server, got minimum withdrawal amount also, and I would need to run those server for a year to eligible for withdrawal So guys, any more hints and tips for a more effective pooling and mining ? seems our local secondhand dealers of used miners are slashing their price for current stock in anticipating of upcoming flood of those used miners from China
jett138 good time to jump in now? saw a used L3+ at RM2.8k, they was selling it at 4K+ just a few weeks ago S9i also just slightly above 1k+ |
