Try using my GTX970 to mine ETH on an old athlon machine. 7.5 mH/s is considered ok?

QUOTE(alpha33 @ Dec 8 2017, 10:38 PM) Win7 64 bit.CPU : AMD Athlon X2 (Ancient CPU lol) RAM: 3G GPU: nVidia GTX970 4G Hash at 8Mh/s Maybe the nanopool config does not push my GPU to the max? update I move the GTX970 to my main PC Win 10 64 bit CPU : Intel i7 4770 RAM:8G Now its hashing at 11Mh/s My GTX runs on stock clock no oc. Maybe I should build another cheap i3 pc to run win 10? I think the Athlon too old to run win10 already. This post has been edited by yushin: Dec 9 2017, 09:09 AM |

QUOTE(Mikeyz @ Dec 9 2017, 07:53 AM) You're not wrong there.been looking at some GPU prices on those GTX 1060 3GB DDR5 chipset and most cost over 1200 onwards.Aint cheap to start an own mining rig 🙄 At least start with 4GB.Anyone using PALIT GTX 1060 Dual 3GB DDR5 GPU?? Want to know around how much hash power it can do on stock ? I'm open to suggestion on DIY mining rigs or any links I can do more research .Thanks Oops open up the 100th page 😂 Or maybe runs with 2x RX560 4GB. |

I use Ver006, blue color PCB. SATA collector to 6 pin connector on the riser.
2 x GTX1070 with their own 8 pin power on the card. 2 x RX560 with no power connector on the card. The RX560 seems ok. |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Dec 15 2017, 09:55 AM) i bought at SG. i think you can easily get it from taobao or locally at LYP. I make mine with pallet wood. Can hold up to 6 cards, when I can afford it. haha.do you plug in the pcie properly to the mobo? i face the same issue on 2nd pcie 3.0, but i did not get good look on it since my case is so cramp and hardly got space for my hand to move around. end up plug into 2.0 x4 pcie and works like wonder since then. 08s. can't go wrong with this. now i'm wondering where i can find external GPU bracket to hook up 2 gpu. |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Dec 17 2017, 11:03 PM) GTX1070 can get below rm2k now.1000W platinum PSU rm800++ TNB bill is a big concern in mining long term, better get the most efficient PSU. I build a dedicated machine for mining so not to mess with my main rig in the bedroom. Mining machine generates lots of heat. This post has been edited by yushin: Dec 17 2017, 11:08 PM |

QUOTE(mirzan007 @ Dec 17 2017, 11:26 PM) Any suggestion of the most reliable pool for ether? I've tried suprnova but couldn't get it started.. maybe didn't get the command right on claymore with dual mining.. I am using nanopool. Quite easy, took like about 2 days to get it up and running from 0 knowledge. |

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Dec 18 2017, 01:36 AM) Guys does tweaking the graphic cards' settings will damage the whole rig? The mining rig worked for 2 days after I followed the settings provided by Buriedone on Youtube and on yesterday I found out that my house suddenly got power failure. So I went to switch on the main switch. However when I switch it back on, I saw that my rig isn't starting. It should start up by itself but now it is not. So I want to know is this Graphic Card's problem or PSU's problem? Try to pull out the GPU and start with only onboard VGA. If LED does not even light up then highly its PSU issue. However normal black out should not damage a PSU or GPU, is it due to power surge or lightning strike? |
