GTX 1070 is considered as a good card to do mining based on its CP value.
Nicehash is easy to use and it convert the alt into BTC directly which save lots of hassle.
But if BTC diarrhea , then u got peanut

Your i7-4770 wont be a bottleneck.

Im mining on an old i7-2600k with socket 1150 mobo, with 5 pcie slots. No problem whatsoever.

Still can use the pc while its mining. Surfing and word processing no problem.

Thanks  to mining, else I won't be willing to buy such expensive GPU for gaming only.
Now I wonder my i7-4770 will be a bottleneck or not.

I own 3 of Zotac's GPU currenty, so far so good. got a 1080ti few days ago. but their price goes back to RRP already after december 2017, still pretty cheap compared to other brands. the 5 yrs warranty is a plus too 

Are you putting it in a casing? if not its not normal. better to mine with open bench-style setup instead of in casing. Been mining in casing with 2*1070s for few months but suddenly realize its generating too much heat so I change to open bench-style setup. 

I can maintain both cards at 50C when mining, with a huge fan blowing at them. setting power draw at 65% too 

downside is the setup will be a dust magnet, gonna need to clean them after few months 

if you want your GPUs to have better lifespan its better to have their temps as low as possible while mining.

I currently mine XVG with x17 algo, dont really need to OC alot as the hashrate doesnt differ much, so I put them at stock core/mem clock with the 65% power draw.

But if you are mining equihash/dagger you can push core to 25~50Mhz and mem to 650~750Mhz, do note that every card varies so you will need to find the sweet spot

or you can just cut/sand a small part to make a square hole that the card notch can sit in. extra 30 secs of work per notch.

I put 6 monster R9 cards, still stable AF. and cheap too. later I take pic

and compared to my metal mining rig, round is a good thing. I don't have the luxury of having same cards. some have exhaust exit heat holes that will get covered by the square metal joints. some won't properly sit on the joint because of the DVI/VGA port will kacau. and some just too pendek. with round joints, there will always be space for the exit hole for any card, and any card punya notch can sit on the pipe. with metal, ako kena drill. salah drill, dah buruk. with pipes, potong is easy. salah measurement, just potong baru, it's so cheap.

if you are really anal about the pipe strength, put dirt in the pipe. a bit heavy, but strong AF.



for beginners like me, cut panjang sikit with a small saw (30 secs per cut of work), and adjust later. once adjusted, duplicate for other pipes.

3 meter pvc pipe per rig. 5 meters if you wanna add extra stuff like fan holders.

I am ordering two mining casings from china to transfer my current open air rig into. Those are 6U server rack casing that are redesigned to hold mining risers.
Those casings all have standard fans to force air from front to back.
Eventually I will stack all the rigs in a 42U rack, all the hot air will be suck from the back of the rack to the ventilation hole on the ceiling to exit through the roof.

Feels uneasy to have open casing and cables danging around. Especially for those who have kids and pets in the house.
