One of the gpu slots of my board is malfunction, leaving a gpu collecting dust. Anyway to solve this issue, other than sending the board back for RMA? I heard of some sort of hub or extension before for pcie but not familiar of it,thanks.

Does your motherboard have m.2 slot? if yes, you can try sourcing a m.2 to pcie adapter. Try and find a version 2.0

Or

You can get a 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 PCIE extender. Although, I must warn you, these are like lucky draw. It will or will not work with your motherboard.

Thanks for your suggestions, will have a look at the board.

Your motherboard have PCI-E slots, right.?

Then use riser, will fix. Do check if your motherboard have on board display...

actually how does riser work?

can i just plug a new gfx to the pcie x4?
since the gfx wont be able to use up all the x4 speed/bandwidth.

currently running a gtx 970 on the x16 port.

Hi all,

been a silent reader for the past months. learn so much from this thread so tqsm for sharing.

been mining with 12 gtx1060 6gb for a while now, hash averaging at about 260, max 270. mixed samsung & hynix. currently still dual mining ether & sia.

anyone here with the same spec as me? (nvidia based), still on eth or already migrating to others like zcash.

would love to hear some opinion on this.

I don't see any yet.

Waiting for Raspberry Pi to be delivered,  to fire up my abandoned 6Mh/s Gridseed Scrypt miner.

New PSU is here for it.

Wondering why you need Raspberry Pi?
Gridseed doesn't run on it's on like the Ant Miners?

so far i've only managed to deal with +550~+600 on the memory and +140 core until error appears, this is on Hynix memory btw.

however noticed that when i drop the power limit to +70 the memory and core adjustments seems to not take effect anymore  hmm.gif

I assume you are mining ETH? In that case the core speed is not helpful, as long as it's not too low (i.e. 1.4GHz-1.5GHz). nVidia Pascal GPU will auto overclock based on the power limit. No point dragging the slider to max when the power is already limited.

TS, shall we start a table to collect cards with mem chip data? So far, I have seen a growing pattern from observing GTX1060 cards selling around in the market. The following is my observation for ETH mining:
1) Mining card is the safest bet, regardless of the RAM manufacturer. It will allow 100% memory controller load. Of course the OC headroom is another story, but no matter what we are guaranteed at least 22 MH/s (~8.4gbps RAM) and higher if you got Samsung.

2) Retail gaming card with Hynix RAM is the worst. The memory controller is limited at 75%-80%. That gives us 15MH/s at stock clock! The OC headroom from my experience is around ~8.3-8.4gbps. That's 19-20MH/s after OC. WEAK.

3) Retail gaming card with Samsung RAM but limited memory controller load. This not only happens in 9gbps version but also 8gbps. The only consolation is the RAM OC headroom is higher. Stock 15MH/s. OCed ~21MH/s depends on luck. Still not as favourable as case (1) because of higher power consumption.

In conclusion, nVidia is forcing us to buy mining edition with shorter warranty. I would like to hear from fellow miners, their experience and luck with recent purchases.

Nope, u need to connect to PC, and run Minerd software.
A bit leech. If PC shut down, u lose earning.

zec = equihash?
eth = excavator?

my gtx970 cant mine eth too. not sure why.
i am running on equihash.

btw, my friend is running 1060 and mining eth.
maybe you have to benchmark it again?

msi afterburner: reduce power, increase memory clock.
thats what he did.

Yes. By selling it off and buy mining card. tongue.gif

I assume you are using Nicehash? That's using Daggerhashimoto for ETH.
