gtx 1050 ti is not worth to buy or use to mine , very low hash rate around 11-13mh/s i think. at the minimum u should be getting 1060 6gb
*
actually i have considered of getting 2 x 1050 TI instead of a 1060 6gb
calculations from NH shows its more profitabl. also its cheaper than 1060.

is this possible actually?

Dual 1050 ti could be slightly more profitable than single 1060, but you're running 2 cards, rough estimation that will be 20-30% increase on power consumption.
*
ah. this is true
extra 40watts diff

maybe because i am using a 970gtx at the moment, so i didnt give much attention to 1050's power usage.
my 970 can only mine equihash. sad.gif

anyone on nicehash?
need some clarifications

on windows 10.
i am currently mining on NH with gtx970
i have a idle gtx650 lying around. (power cost ignored.)

1: just slot this card into any pciE slot on the board and set up driver?

2: after the driver installed, just run my NH software, and it will auto use these two GFX to mine?

*or its not worth all the trouble for an additional 30cents?

Your motherboard have PCI-E slots, right.?

Then use riser, will fix. Do check if your motherboard have on board display...
*
actually how does riser work?

can i just plug a new gfx to the pcie x4?
since the gfx wont be able to use up all the x4 speed/bandwidth.

currently running a gtx 970 on the x16 port.

is there anyway to make the retail GC memory controller load 100%? can't seem to find any solution

my 1060's are mining zec instead of eth cos slow for eth
*
zec = equihash?
eth = excavator?

my gtx970 cant mine eth too. not sure why.
i am running on equihash.

btw, my friend is running 1060 and mining eth.
maybe you have to benchmark it again?

msi afterburner: reduce power, increase memory clock.
thats what he did.

Yes. By selling it off and buy mining card. tongue.gif
I assume you are using Nicehash? That's using Daggerhashimoto for ETH.
*
yeapz.
my dagger algo max at 3mhs. after this that, i get max 15-16/mhs only. not even close to that 2x mhs as stated.
even so, the screen will be very laggy, kind of unusable.

2 more days to pay day, after pay day, will try install win7 and have a try again.

If you maxed out at 3MH/s (I assume this is not a typo), then it's Windows 10 update issue. Get the anniversary update and you are good to go.
But that does not mean we fix < 100% mem controller load issue. That's an entirely diff issue.
*
already in latest update/build allowed in windows update.
but at least in this build., the nvidia "dsr/compute" is working.
just that it will lag the screen and max out at 15-16mhs only.

as for the mem load issue, not really know whats that.
just thought of sharing what my friend did with his 1060.

The mem load thing, so far no solution. nVidia is really sly..

btw, for a GTX970 : Equihash

[11:24:48][0x000021a0][info] =====> 256.538639 H/s
[11:24:48][0x000021a0][info] gpuinfo | GPU#0 TEMP: 55 C USAGE: 100 % MEMCTRL: 71 % POWER: 118.662 W
[11:24:48][0x000021a0][info] =====> Total power: 118.662 W Efficiency: 2.161927 H/W

is this normal?
the bolded part is what we are discussing about? confused.gif

I only mine ETH. So, what I mentioned was only true for ETH. Whether it's normal for Equihash to have non-100% memory controller load, I'm not sure. But you can refer to this calculator: https://new.nicehash.com/profitability-calc....1¤cy=USD
Equihash on GTX970 is around 292 Sol/s. That's the average performance for all GTX970 using the Nicehash. So your performance is still below the average out there.

Try this: http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/p0-power-state/
Sadly this does not work for Pascal GPU.
*
now thats fishy! something is off.
as for the p0 thing, it has been enabled via Nicehash miner. still only this i am getting. bruce.gif

all gtx1060 are nvidia. He is asking what brand  laugh.gif

for mining, most important part is the memory. samsung based memory perform best, followed by micron and lastly hynix (true for nvidia card only, amd user please dont bash me), this is based on my experience.

so if u can get a card, regardless of brand, which use samsung memory. you are in luck. most gtx1060 still available on the Malaysia market today are one with hynix, samsung memory all kena rembat already
*
is it possible to check this memory brand via software?
since the spec shit dont mention memory brand.

i think this applies if you are mining ethereum..

I'm mining on 3 Nvidia cards(1080ti and 2 1070), but i'm mining Zcash. Zcash is more towards core clock speed..overclocking the memory does not improve the hashrate (Sol/s) ..but overclocking the core clock will benefit the hashrate.
I've tested by overclocking and underclocking my memory speed, the hashrate remains the same...
but if i switch and mine ethereum, then memory speed will come to play...
*
zcash is what algo?
i am on NH, running excavator.

have no idea what i am doing too.

zcash is using equihash algo.. nicehash sometimes mine using equihash algo but i find using ewbf miner will get better performance..

like me, i mine zcash, deposit to bitfinex wallet.  and do exchange zec to btc or zec to eth...
*
eh??
that means i am on equihash, i should be boosting my gpu clock instead of memory clock?

i reduced power limit, means i doing it wrongly already.?

QUOTE(edthrax @ Sep 8 2017, 09:09 AM)
that's what I did on equihash, i'll boost the gpu clock, decrease power limit around 75-80% , I wont do anything on memory clock..

if I want a quite efficient miner but sacrificing my hashrate, i'll set 65% power limit, +210Mhz gpu clock. This will get me roughly around 630Sol/s at 145watts on the 1080ti, and around 400 Sol/s at 90-100watts on the 1070..

but if you use nicehash, they tend to switch algo , so its better to boost both gpu and memory clock ..
*
Increasing gpu clock, but reducing power, wont it affect the performance? I havent try it tho. Cos it crashed the moment i boost it.

I have disabled all other algos except equihash. Cos either its my card, or win10.

Btw, sols? If in miner its showing 275.xxx h/sols, what does that mean?
275 sols?

Hi there. I'm newbie in cryptocurrency. My pc running 24hours and i want to make use it for mining. Maybe starting with rx470 or gtx1060 for ethereum mining. How to setup my pc? Atleast my pc can generate some income. If the income good enough i can invest for a better hardware. Just for now i want to experience myself my pc generate some income. Otherwise still can use it for gaming. Any whatsapp group that i can join? Wanna be full time miner if successful.

Windows x64
Assuming u already have gfx in your pc.
Assuming electric cost is not a problem

Go to www.nicehash.com, download software, and follow instructions there...

Tadaaaaaaaa.

As for wallet for payment, i use luno, so can directly cash out to rm.
Then now changed to exodus, since i planing to hold my payout fornlong term.
