mine also got reading first day I collected my car

Oh... 1st day collected your car. Yes, mine also showed a reading, but the newer cars this time round just shows "-----" on the oil life balance. Mine showed 10,000km when I first collected it with 5km on the odometer.

Does it show A or B the first time you collect? I think they didn't start the counter for mine perhaps?
*
Everyone will start with A. No, according to andyshim89 his car also started with "-----" when he first collected the car. After driving the car for a few thousand KM, the oil life balance numbers came out.

Apparently in the manual, it's stated that the car is learning the driving behaviour of the driver.

For rear view mirror the bottom part have any lights?  The 2 square holes

Those are not lights. It's used for the auto-dimming feature.

You can test anytime - shine a bright light at the 2 squares - if needed, you should cover the front square - your mirror should "turn green".

Mine today only become number instead of  ----

Reach 900km, oil life show 7900 (macam good if compare with ur  )
maybe is due to i drive it from KL to JB when i got the car ,  smooth drive around 110+-km/h at highway , so far kinda light foot on pedal ~ most of the time rpm2000+  , got one or two times accidentally pass rpm3000 due to some            special scenario.
Any idea after how many Km only can push it a bit more ?
*
Only for the first 1K. Then u can push the Civic as hard as you like smile.gif

Guys i tinted my Civic with Huper Optik and this is what i see at the rear tint at night (picture is from other forum). Is this normal?user posted image
*
First few days, normal. Park under the hot sun to make the tint adhere properly quicker. If the orange peel effect continues for more than a week, go back to the installer

so, meaning to say, have to bring the car to service centre twice for A and B indicator?

But SA claiming car need to be service every 10k KM, its not true?
*
Saying send to service twice for A and B indicator is wrong. You send the car for engine oil change for A service, or engile oil change and oil filter for B service. Both of which resets the engine oil life to 10,000km.

Engine Oil life starts at 10,000km and decrease as you use your vehicle. Oil life may decrease quicker than mileage depending on your driving condition and use - staying still and not moving the car is the worst. If you wait for people while leaving your car and airconditioning turned on, will decrease the oil life counter, similar to being stuck in a traffic jam. So technically, your SA didn't lie to you.

Preventative maintenance is every 10K or 6 months, which may or may not overlap with A/B service.

Do read the FAQ, or manual for more info on this

No issue on even flat roads, only uneven roads. Sounds like some loose part somewhere to be at least. Hope it is not the VSA modulator... I googled around those seems really serious compared to mine.
*
VSA Modulator then. Read known issues on post #1

Is the VSA modulator noise loud? I just received my car 2 weeks ago, if firmware should be latest already I guess?

It doesn't sound like relay noise though (relay noise is the one when headlamp turns on, that click is different).
*
Yes, loud and noticeable. Search in youtube for some sample noise. Some members also posted, but need to search the post.

Firmware not necessarily latest. May use old parts coz ordered in bulk smile.gif

Hey guys, is the new civic and new CRV share the same cvt?
*
Not sure... but from what i read, the CVT is programmed to be lazier than Civic even though it has more power and torque, thus not quicker.

After a month of wait, my car is finally here. I would like to do the tinting with Honda. Looking at the options available, can anyone here share their experience  with those tinting? I am looking at the ecotint option as it has lower VLT compare to 3M across the range.
*
Lower VLT does not necessarily mean better heat rejection. It just means that it's darker. Look for high TSER ratings imho. Gratz on your new ride smile.gif

I tinted with Llumar Diamond. In my opinion, a little bit too bright to my liking. Ah but what to do, it's a done deal.
*
It's better to have higher VLT at the front windscreen - you won't see us Llumar users cursing Auto-Headlights are still turned on automatically at 8am brows.gif

A noob question here in regards to engine oil & mileage meter. I understand that the service interval is 10,000km.

reading along this thread shows that the milage and engine oil meter will never be the same (especially lower on the engine oil). In terms of service, do we follow the total mileage of the engine oil meter?
*
You can refer to the FAQ on Post 1 on this. Mine is 100% the same 1:1 engine oil life and mileage, but really depends on your daily driving circumstances.

If you often:
1. Face heavy traffic jam
2. Long idle on warm up & warm down
3. Leave the engine on while waiting for someone for a long time
4. Lots and lots of daily hilly drive

Your engine oil life will be below average. Basically, if you leave the car on without moving, engine oil life will deteriorate faster due to heat.

I just received my tcp yesterday. So far so good. Any tinted shop recommended at jb area?
*
imho these are the place to go for the below tint:
Raytech - Taman Tasek
V-Kool - Jalan Sulam, Taman Sentosa
Llumar - Bandar Uda Utama
Huper Optik - Damansara Aliff

Other than those tint, I have no idea where. I used Llumar Diamond 6 for mine smile.gif

p/s you might get cheaper prices for the same tint in KL, so it might be worth a trip up north.

It may not be so worth it if you factor in the petrol + toll tho - unless the person has something to do in Kl then it would be worth while biggrin.gif
*
Last time when I did it, someone in KL did it for almost RM1k less sweat.gif market in JB is different due to it's close proximity with Singapore I guess...
