QUOTE(SackBoy @ Aug 1 2017, 07:56 PM) Actually i shouldn't bother to put race-chip, stock is the best (i drive like uncle). Best modification is no modification, only some personalize touch to the car aesthetic. But Hondata improves Fuel Consumption and tune the car for RON97! |

Android Auto v2.5.7285 is now available http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/an...5-7285-release/
No changelist for AA. Waze Beta v4.27.0.901 is now available http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/waze/waze-gps...-0-901-release/ I suggest to just use the Android Auto, and not use the Waze Beta. Unless you also wanna test new Waze Beta features la: 1. Favorites’ order is now saved in the server 2. Roadside Help Report (aka SOS button) - New alert type. Users can now ask for a general or technical assistance along the route 3. 3D Arrow Icon will be available in the upcoming days. You'll be able to activate it by typing ##@3d tech code. 4. New “Center on Me” button (refreshed UI) 5. Truncated addresses in the left pane menu [BUG-4995] - Fixed 6. Fixed a case where Waze crashes upon startup |

andyshim89 & fuzzyozzy. shinchan^^ has found this thread that may be similar to your case - but it's not the FC though - I think the car on the thread was FD circa 2010. Anyway, it's something to highlight to the SC if you're interested. spoiler: it's the steering rack.
Or did you already manage to fix it already? |

QUOTE(Arevind7 @ Aug 2 2017, 06:17 PM) Hi guys. Been using RON97 due to EURO4M. RON95 is EURO2M. The car is EURO4 compliant. Never used RON95 before, but the car is actually rated to use RON92 iinm.I've been using Ron 95 for the past 3 months. Thinking if I should change to Ron 97 after this for better performance. Anyone of you have been using Ron 97 or have changed from 95 to 97? Can you share your experience or if it's worth it as we know that 97 is more expensive. A friend also told me that for turbo cars, it's better to use 97. Your thoughts? No worries in engine knocking due to RON92 minimum, but I choose to fill in RON97 due to fuel cleanliness and friendliness to the environment. Read more at the first page for more info. QUOTE(DM3 @ Aug 2 2017, 06:27 PM) Really? Where? Been going to Yong Ming due to close proximity but needed to book 1 month in advance.QUOTE(Clicko220 @ Aug 2 2017, 06:28 PM) I will be sending my car for check-up and hopefully to fix following problems. 1. Loud grinding noise due to CVT. need to change transmission, but apparently no effect on durability on transmission. Just noisy. A bit hard to request to change warranty.1. Loud grinding noise during engine startup. 2. tick tick tick sound on uneven road, getting very frequent now. Have you guys fixed these issues before? Any experience with SC, please let me know. 2. Noise is due to VSA modulator. Need to update VSA firmware. Worst case, change VSA modulator. Read more at the first page for more info. |

To anybody using Android Auto - might be specific to my phone - and having problems in making / receiving calls not properly popping up / showing on the Android Auto Call Card Screen - I have an answer for you on how to resolve this:
Problem: 1. Android Auto on Civic - calls need to be answered on the phone itself, or showing up on the Civic speedo screen, not on Android Auto. 2. While on a call, you can't see the Android Auto Call Card Screen. Solution: 1. Unplug the phone cable but stay connected to the Bluetooth. 2. Called my phone from another phone and the call came through on the Honda Civic system with the options to accept or reject. Do not accept or reject yet. 3. Connect the phone cable, which brought me to the Call Card Screen on Android Auto. Accept the call on Android Auto by pressing on the pop-up/accept call button. 4. Hang up the call using Android Auto. Try to call your phone again while on Android Auto to test. You might need to answer the call first before plugging the phone in at step 3. It fixed my problem and my Android Auto works perfectly now source for solution: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/hel...-calls-t3569296 This post has been edited by isr25: Aug 3 2017, 02:32 PM |

QUOTE(Clicko220 @ Aug 3 2017, 04:26 PM) Bro, do you know whether SC will charge anything for just bringing my car to them to check and resolve the above 2 issues? I have already done my 20k service last month. No. It's all under warranty. On firmware, not sure if there is an update - maybe we should share the firmware version |

QUOTE(neotheone @ Aug 3 2017, 05:13 PM) Loving the car and HU. Too bad the HU android auto dection doesn't support my redmi note 2 phone on global ROM, unrooted. Tried using many different brands of cables, still not working. Haha... Heard about the Xiaomi nightmare. From what I read, you need to use the Xiaomi.Eu firmware for it to be fully compatible.Anyone has similar issue? |

Just saw on FB - someone saying that his TC Civic oil life is only 3500++km, the lowestI've ever heard. Mileage now is at 6800km and the service due soon (1500km oil life left) has popped up.
Apparently he leaves his car running while not moving often - Don't do this ya friends |

My oil life getting better especially now after 20k service. Can drive about 7500-8000km mostly City drive. Simple answer is Civic is much much lighter than the S80, so it feels more nimble. Since the engine is more powerful on the S80, it'll destroy the Civic on the highway Been driving Volvo S80 2011 2.5 Turbo (231hp, 340nm) for 2 days while waiting for my Civic TC to change windscreen. Surprisingly our TC feel more powerful especially from pickup & more responsive from 0-80kmh. After 80kmh, S80 fly all the way.. Civic Steering feel & handling also better. lol. May b expectation too high on S80.. Anyway just for info, change windscreen @ Honda now RM 2150.00. Price has increased. |

QUOTE(Ken118 @ Aug 5 2017, 09:17 PM) Cause i heard got people change other engine oil outside sc after sent for service for better engine response.. i not sure whether how true it is. To me it seems waste of money but i curious. Thats why i ask here if anyone got do so and how the performance differ.. lolz No la. You can't really feel the difference - I'm guessing it's more of placebo effect, rather than actual noticeable gains. It's a waste of perfectly usable engine oil.QUOTE(Muq86 @ Aug 6 2017, 11:20 AM) Hye guys, just ordered civic 1.8..i like to change the fabric seat to leather seat but cost 3k+ at honda..at outside only cost 1k+.. but is it safe to change outside? considering there's air bag inside the seats.. Quite a number of members actually change it to leather seats - just make sure it's from a reputable installer to ensure the airbags can safely deploy in case of an accident. Wouldn't want those side airbags to deploy from your back QUOTE(prasys @ Aug 6 2017, 01:59 PM) http://www.hondaphil.com/model/civic/specifications/ And their top end RS Turbo CVT gets so much more accessories at a lower price of RM122k Lol Philippines version of Honda Civic 1.8 gets LED headlights , but in Malaysia we get it for 1.5 TCP. However only the premium version comes with 6 airbags , compared to Malaysian model which is standard across |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 6 2017, 08:26 PM) Or driving to Singapore without using data for Waze To be honest, only the LED headlights is the main reason why I took the TC-P. The rest are just nice to have. But since I have dual aircond, I put the temperature on passenger side differently then mine while I drive alone - just to use the feature One thing about the Garmin though - it records every single drive you make for the past 2 weeks iinm (navigation, apps, where i've been) One other thing - for those who just received the car, what firmware is your HU? Mine is (info, system/device information, system info) Applications: Ver.1.F187.14 If it's a later version, do let us know so that we can request to upgrade the HU firmware when we send our car for service. |

I had a similar problem wih my old car (Honda City GD8) and it was because they improperly connected the rear aerial cables. Just tell the SC and they'll fix it right up.My FM reception lately signal sucks really bad. Speakers dont have problem since i use hdmi wireless mirrorlink and produce better sounds than FM Keep having the buzzing noise and very weak signal even on city roads. I wind down my windows also same |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 7 2017, 10:23 AM) i am more interested if the OS version can be upgraded. hyundai ioniq have a newer version comes with 5.1.1 2 different things:Hyundai Ioniq HU - really just a tablet where we install apps directly on it. No Android Auto / Apple CarPlay support. Honda Civic/CRV HU - just a UI interface. We need to use a phone for Android Auto / Apple CarPlay for use with the vehicle. We don't install apps directly on the HU. You can see a lot of people complaint on the Ioniq HU where HSDM replaced the unit with a lower end version. The Hyundai Elantra is the same as our HU, with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support - HU is Android version 4 too iinm. |

QUOTE(Ken118 @ Aug 7 2017, 10:24 AM) Must be some bug fixes or stability improvement at the very least. There is a school of thought that "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", as the upgrade might mess up things that didn't have any problems in the first place. So it's up to the owner to upgrade or not.QUOTE(Newbie838 @ Aug 7 2017, 10:28 AM) I just serviced my car last week and they didn't upgrade the HU firmware. QUOTE(Clicko220 @ Aug 8 2017, 03:12 AM) Updates Engine grinding (technically it's CVT Pressure Control Valve vibrating), you need to turn off your car for at least 30-45 minutes after driving around for it to appear. Not turn off and on again in quick succession. Did they reset your VSA modulator? And next time you don't mention forum laaa... Just say your friend went to another SC with the same problem and they updated the VSA modulator firmware.Brought to SC for the above. I told them many users from a reputable forum has the similar issues and he asked me not to believe forum lol. Recorded the sound of tick tick tick on slow uneven road and let them hear. Didn't bother much, said will check. Tried to restart my engine few times can't hear the grinding sound, maybe too noisy there. Car collected and was told they have done some reset -> Done reset DTC code (was written in the job sheet) What does "Done reset DTC code" means? So far, have not heard any tick tick tick sound yet, but engine grinding noise during startup still exist ocassionally. DTC means Diagnostic Trouble Code. QUOTE(Clicko220 @ Aug 8 2017, 03:17 AM) 9800km when picking up your car after servicing? They idled your car for a long time I guess? |
