(anyway FYI 169.02 wasn't the driver for 8600GT terdownloaded wrong one)

169.09 downloaded and installed still hang. damn. i can run benchies on low / very low settings. oh well i go test again now.

If you you are using AA try disabling it first and try it again.

Make sure your game is updated and try this...

2d.) The -stabilityfactor command
Since Update #002 (WiC version number 1.0.0.2) we have added a new feature which may help those of you who are having occasional or frequent freezes and lockups in-game.

By appending "-stabilityfactor x" where x is a number between 1 and 10 you may be able to eliminate this problem.

There are two ways to do this, either through the console or by editing the shortcut that starts the game, see guides below:

Editing the shortcut:
-Find your WiC shortcut either in your startmenu or on your desktop and right-click it.
-Choose "Properties".
-In the field that is called "Target" there is a command line that should read something like: "C:\Program Files\Sierra Entertainment\World in Conflict\wic.exe"
-Append -stabilityfactor 10 to the end of the line AFTER the quotes.
-Click "ok" and start the game with this shortcut.

If you notice that you can play the game with this added command without any freezes or lockups, you can lower it in small increments (-stabilityfactor 9, 8, 7, and so on) until you find the lowest one you can use.

Doing this through the console:
-Make sure you have appended -console to the end of the target field for the shortcut (see "Editing the shortcut" above).
-In-game, press the console key and type StabilityFactor x (where x is a number between 1 and 10) to use the feature. typing StabilityFactor 0 turns it off.

Wonder what this does.

aihh. my case - all drivers / patches didn't help.

i just disable Full Object Geometry, Extra Object Details, Destruction FX and Post Effects. it's all fine already.

This game awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though Crysis is out still play it from time to time its A-WESOME, best RTT game so far. This game is really in need of a expansion.

Hmmm really odd...i have never heard of a problem with 8600GT with the game...oh well as long as you got it working...

BTW Update 3 is live!!!woohoo WiC map maker tool is out too!!!

Wow didn know that then should be lots of Malaysians playing how come I do not see any online.
