I think it can go on high depending on the res u set,
*

Just got my demo, this game overall is pretty nice, especially the gameplay. The complains so far are the sounds and the animation quality. It's kinda sux if you compare to C&C3 or CoH.
*
The control setup is great though.. well animation quality maybe, but animation quality and sound are second to playability smile.gif probably one of the best RTS, playability-wise.

hmmm maybe, u need to zoom in on the action to get the cun sound effect???

hope it'll be 79.90 or cheaper ehhehehe
*
It's the virtualization.. because of the virtualization you need to use large speakers otherwise you won't be able to hear the background sound. On my 50mm neodymium headphones the sound is great, but I can barely hear the sound effects on my small Rm10 ones smile.gif

Definitely agreed. Even the demo is incredible. Story is predictable though, but the characters actually have character smile.gif

guys, i need assistance.

my WiC just doesn't want to work with my 8600GT, any 8600GT throw at it also it doens't like.

already using the latest patch for Windows, WiC and even latest GeForce driver. Windows XP FYI.

damn strange. if I run ATI HD2600XT then no problem! LOL. what a laugh, start the game you see nVidia stuff but end up i can only run using ATI stuff.

oh btw problem goes like this - CANNOT PLAY! If I run benchmark also it will crash the entire system. How it goes is that it runs the benchies halfway (ok not even half) then it hangs the application. then no choice have to restart PC.

so, any suggestions?

EDITED : ouh found out even more latest driver. previous latest driver didn't work. oh well. cross my fingers, anyway still leave your suggestions just in case latest driver don't solve this. (#*&%(*#%& tried turning off details / lower the resolution? yes tried. didn't help........well helped a little but not much. still pointless to have 8600GT running at lowest everything when my 2600XT can do flawlessly.
*
That's odd... I'm running the demo fine over here at medium (on a 8600GTS.) I can actually just about run the demo at very high but the lag gets bad smile.gif what're your drivers ? latest is 169.09 smile.gif

Oh btw do you have your gamma turned up ? for some reason it doesn't like having the gamma maxxed out. Also your settings in the NVidia control panel, try putting everything at default and see if that helps ?

bleh, mine on medium setting also shit can happen.

the thing is HD2600XT no problem. sad.gif

anyway i have 163.71 and it didn't work. latest is 163.75. so going to test later. if it doesn't work i donno how already, time to contact some people. biggrin.gif

*btw 163.75 is the latest from nVidia when you select 8600GT. other cards and OS - the version varies.
*
Noo... try the beta ones... 169.09 beta works great .. don't select 8600GT, I'm using 169.09 beta on a 8600GTS on Windows XP Pro and it works fairly well smile.gif

I have limited experience with ATi so I don't know about that smile.gif

Trust me on this, 169.09 will work great on WiC. You still have that 400FSB E2140 right ? it should fly at medium smile.gif

just now downloaded 169.02 also it refuses to install. say not detecting hardware that support it whatever.

It's at http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.09.html smile.gif

Uninstall your previous drivers before installing the new ones smile.gif also disable NV's driver service and disable all the startup stuff that the driver puts in smile.gif

If you you are using AA try disabling it first and try it again.

Make sure your game is updated and try this...

2d.) The -stabilityfactor command
Since Update #002 (WiC version number 1.0.0.2) we have added a new feature which may help those of you who are having occasional or frequent freezes and lockups in-game.

By appending "-stabilityfactor x" where x is a number between 1 and 10 you may be able to eliminate this problem.

There are two ways to do this, either through the console or by editing the shortcut that starts the game, see guides below:

Editing the shortcut:
-Find your WiC shortcut either in your startmenu or on your desktop and right-click it.
-Choose "Properties".
-In the field that is called "Target" there is a command line that should read something like: "C:\Program Files\Sierra Entertainment\World in Conflict\wic.exe"
-Append -stabilityfactor 10 to the end of the line AFTER the quotes.
-Click "ok" and start the game with this shortcut.

If you notice that you can play the game with this added command without any freezes or lockups, you can lower it in small increments (-stabilityfactor 9, 8, 7, and so on) until you find the lowest one you can use.

Doing this through the console:
-Make sure you have appended -console to the end of the target field for the shortcut (see "Editing the shortcut" above).
-In-game, press the console key and type StabilityFactor x (where x is a number between 1 and 10) to use the feature. typing StabilityFactor 0 turns it off.
*
Wonder what this does.

Hey are the voice confirmations for the troops and armor really soft compared to the commander's voice, or is there something wrong somewhere ? smile.gif
