Well, from what i've heard,Sonic Gear speakers tend to have very low Quality Control.

Btw, i did a test comparing sonic gear envo and the Edifier speakers.Hands down, Edifier speakers totally butchered the Evo 8 thumbup.gif

Momento M2 owner. Didn't actually chose a brand, I just saw one and grab and get home. Good looking little dual drivers.

A little thrashy with the bass at high volumes. Also I think it has a few loose parts, after a very scary bass test(I know with these i shouldn't even think about it, but it was fun nonetheless laugh.gif ).

Anyone got review on Portable Sonic Gear 2GOnow ? I found that X-mini is kind of overated and would definitely like to know how it compares with that.
Thanks!

definitely can't compare x-mini with 2GO
x-mini wins immediately
2GO distorts at medium volume if too much bass in the song like those rap songs from young jeezy, etc

bleh. if u want real good portable sound, get an Edifier MP230. Runs on 4AA(not AAA) and sounds pretty darn good. Just that its kinda big lol.

The 2GOnow is priced at less than RM50, so u're really comparing 2 totally diffrent product range. the 2gonow have practically zero bass and sucks for music listening if thats what you're gonna use it for. Only reason for the 2GOnow's existence is for presentations and talks. I used to work at a PC shop and get to test many products side by side. The 2GOnow is loud and clear in terms of voice and stuff, but gets zero points for bass and music enjoyment.

the Edifier MP230 is a lot bigger and is priced around the X-mini's price range, but it sounds a lot better than both.

The only SG portable products in my shop that time was the i300 and 2gonow. the i300 lacks a simple volume control and can't beat the mp230 in terms of overall SQ. the mp230 sounds better than the x-mini since its a full-blown stereo portables.

edifier will win the x-mini in sound obviously
x-mini wins in portability n bass
so it's a tie in between

it's your choice to choose which one.
I choose x-mini because it's a christmas present and it's cheap in singapore compared to edifier.

but sonic gear quality.....umm....I better not comment about it.

do you think the warranty cover for the bad caps? some more i open the unit. they'll give excuse saying i voided the warranty. their pcb board design is really cheap, I'm surprise to see the circuit built inside.

Hmm, it's certainly not your fault or act of God, should be covered by warranty but since you open it, most probably warranty void.

well, if i not open, it wont be covered by warranty as well because it has physical burn mark. for those who own enzo 7000 you might want o sniff your receiver when it is on. If you smell like a toxic smell, i think the cap is melt already. I use to realize it. but today it just went 'pop' but it still function. Just that i don't dare to keep it on. quickly i off the power. Luckily it happen when i in front of my pc. I use to keep my pc on all the time. i can't imagine if it happen when i not around.

Are all of these incidents attributed by low Quality Control? That's why i always avoid Sonic Gear since their speakers are just too darn cheap smile.gif

I believe the quality control is as bad as the design as well. I hope sonic gear fan will not shoot me for that statement sweat.gif
