the enzo 7000 cool.gif
last month i buy enzo 7000 at rm530. at first the original price is rm570, then i did a little bargaining the i get it down to rm530.
to find that in lowyat i can get it at rm480 does disappointed me a little but if consider the value for price i think its acceptable. but to find that the instruction book was not in there leave me clueless little bit.
so i gonna review a little about my experience using the enzo7000.

tuning the enzo 7000 rclxub.gif
i am using it with my ps2. using the enzo 7000 really need some tuning. if all you do is switching it to optical 5.1 mode and turn the volume up an down only, you will hear that center speaker is too loud. the problem is enzo7000 aren't properly balanced. to tune enzo 7000 so that ican hear and feel the surround so i need to set the center, treble and sub at 0 first. then max out the surround that is to 15 only. the the treble usually at 3~5 and sub woofer around 10~15. for the center speaker you can max it to 10 but i turn it down to 3~4 because it really too loud compared to LR and SR speaker.finally turn up the master volume. with this little tuning, now i can feel the surround feeling.

the good thing having enzo7000 thumbup.gif
1.the good thing about enzo7000 is that sonic gear is giving you an amplifier with optical input, two spdif input, anlog stereo input, 5.1 analog input, with in and out 3.5 jack at low price. for me having the optical input is really great thing because before this i tried to find cheap amplifier with optical input and what i usually found is no brand RM600 amp without digital input. the rich input that enzo7000 have is certainly its strong point for me to invest my rm530 for a mini home theater system. also they also give 6 RCA cable and a optical cable (for free!)

2.more good thing is with SMS (simple media system) on ps2 connected with my server at home that store all video file and music, you can enjoy surround sound even when watching eclipse code geas or lunar macross frontier.

3.heck since its connected with ps2 and you're playing game be sure to use the Dolby pro logic setting to enjoy the game to full experience. coupled with ar tonelico with Dolby pro logic setting it really something when you hear the opening movie and song of hymns. the NFS:MW also great with the ost and the engine drummed really blow you away.

4.with the spdif and optical come together you could also use the rca cable to connect your dvd player and pc to enzo 7000 using the spdif input-output. now that what i call call enzo7000 a cheap home audio center.

5.did i mention that the output are all analog, and for subwoofer you can choose to use analog or 3.5 hole? the enzo allow for customization. for me who like to innovate things, i think you can use optional LR and SR speaker and optional subwoofer.

the not so good about the enzo7000 vmad.gif
1.as i said earlier the problem is the sound volume need to balance first. the volume for surround sound are low if not balance properly. but this problem shouldn't be big matter if you're using it with your computer. with proper software you should be able to fix enzo unbalance sound problem.

2.well about remote, the enzo 7000 use infrared remote and unfortunately all volume button was there that is SW, treble, center, surround and master, 5.1 or 2.1 mode, input mode switcher, hifi mode, stand by, test and mute button. so when you damage or lost this little small remote, you will only be able to control input mode switcher and master volume only!

recommendation rclxms.gif
well if you are someone like me seeking for cheap home theater sound system enzo could offer what you for a cheaper price

HELP! icon_question.gif
could someone that have enzo7000 manual, could scan it for me or put it in this thread. since i don't the manual, i dont know how to switch between the rock and classic that appear on amp lcd.

@twopiece did you try plugging it to your tv to check if it really able to output some bass?

ive recently build DIY speker stand for my enzo7000. the difference between putting the rear speaker below ear level and at ear level are very distinguishable. now that i call mini home theater!

ho using extension.. well done on the precaution side.

@scriptkiddo:im using ego and enzo7000. for enzo when im not using it i turn it off since it my expensive speaker that i got, can't afford to lose one so quickly. but for ego i really doesn't care to turn it off though. as long as your ventilation in the room is okay, i think there is really no harm leaving it standby.

well if you are using enzo 7000 with pc certainly you may have greater control on it in term of volume leveling. which if you hear faintly the rear speaker you can always adjust it in ac3filter setting. you doesn't really need to go for optical out since pc can also have spdif which is enzo have two spdif input for it.

on performance in movie, i think its very good, since its a multimedia speaker that is closest to home theater. enzo bass are reliable its nothing like other series in sonic gear family. i do own ego and edifier m1310. when you already use hearing to enzo this speaker just aren't able to satisfied me especially with the clarity and the bass. i always watch ff7 advent children, and its totally a different experience watching movie using mini home theater.

please be note that even though you are watching 2 channel audio video or just a mp3 you still can hear surround sound. i think what it call .. matrix decoding or something like that

for hanging your speaker at the wall i don't think it will give much freedom you put it there. i use my speaker stand that i made myself. here my speaker stand

and yeah be sure to buy it around RM500 or below since the best price i have seen is rm480. at first it ws sold at 570 then i bargaing untill at 530 sweat.gif

oh by the way, i've never used digital connection using my laptop since my laptop doesnt have spdif or optical out. i used to play video using sms on ps2. but there is this hi-fi mode that only can be activated when you in the 2chnl mode. it greatly enhace the sound (louder and clearer).

hongty, thankfully sonic gear give us free optical cable inside the box. for spdif you can use a "rca cable"(i think they were 6 rca cable in the box), or 3.5mm head jack that have rca head at the other side.

for the manual book i lost it when i open my box.. i dont even know how its looks.. so im too serching for soft copy of the mnual. i've tried asking many people who got the manual but unfortunately no response.

did anyone ever care about speaker being magnetically shield? i myself wasnt sure the effect anyway. it wasn't the same if you put your handphone near your tv, monitor or speaker. anyway since it said it was magnetically shield i think you should just think it that way. the emp cause by speaker aren't strong as handphone so.. just leave as it is are much better.

btw if your desk aren't very large and ready to sacrifice a little sound quality you can always put the satelite speker below the desk along with subwoofer. not too bad anyway .

to tell you the truth from what i hear from most sonic gear owner who seek for after sale service (repair, etc), they aren't very good at delivering good after sale service... kind of disappointing though when this day it require longer and deeper relationship with customer for a business to be successful in the for a long time.
i do not hold any expectation for sonic gear in the future

sosodef, for me the enzo7000 itself a expensive speaker compared with other speaker class, but if you compared it with other digital speaker of other brands you will find that enzo7000 is the cheapest digital speaker compared to logitech especially.

now if you buy enzo7000, you will get a set of mini home theater at a price rm480. the external control tower itself able act as decoder for dolby digital and dts. have one optical input and spdif in for best quality sound transfer, 5 analog input for DVD, 3.5 in and out jack. accidentally you will having a decoder+small amplifier for a price at below 500. its very rich in connectivity.

not only that, the sub woofer is 80watt, the most powerful sub in the sonic gear line. the total power for enzo7000 is 180 watt.

now if you want to spend on enzo just take he enzo 7000, its worth of your money for the extra rm100 you paid for.

just to remind you, if yo want to buy the enzo7000, it is better if you find a shop that is selling it at rm480 below. i bought it at rm530, not knowing the market price at that time is already rm480. i was ripped off!!

still its better knowing the current market price than nothing at all. the enzo i bought actually have a price tag of 580 in that shop, i guess that it was luck that i begging for discount and then it was sold at 530. not knowing other was selling at 480 only. shocking.gif i wish could buy a new ram for my laptop if only i bought the enzo at lowest price

@sosodef: please watch for sticker at the back of the subwoofer unit. there should be a sticker displaying when the warranty expired. and yes make sure you buy it from shop that you can deal easily especially for after sale service like warranty claim.

i have enzo 6000 (5.1) , how do i set it for optimum performance?? it seems theres no guide for it. can anyone help me out.  ???? previously i used tatoo330 (2.1) and it seems to sound better ( i know 5.1 has more capabilities but i dont know how to tweak it)....
*
i dont know about enzo6000, but if there is some problem carried over to enzo7000 maybe the loudness difference between surround speaker with the center speaker...

if the center speaker are too loud from other speaker , in the end you will end up hearing the sound speaker only, and all the surround sound are "drowned".
so if enzo6000 can discretely control the center speaker volume, try to set it at the lowest level and then max other speaker along with master volume until you're satisfied with surround sound you begin to hear. next, increase the center volume until a little or until you're satisfied, that should enable you to basically tune your 5.1 speaker, since its all about the surround sound.

next is bout positioning your 5.1 speaker, try going to the 5.1 dolby speaker set up website

5.1 speaker are best position at your ear level, especially the surround speaker, put it on some high place or you can just build you own speaker stand

or you could just check my review on enzo7000, maybe you could apply some of the tip to enzo6000, here

@ping325: how do you justify good sound quality? i've never used the bt2 so i cant comment on that. but for enzo, the one thing that made me buy it because the optical and sdif input directly to the speaker which is perfect for my ps2. as for the speker itself, the center speaker realy does annoying as it too loud. if you're using it on pc that problem can be solve as you can control the volume of each speaker individually, easily.

@evilguy: the hi fi button only works when selecting 2.1 channel only. press the 2.1 button and then press hifi. you should be able more fidelity and more bass when using the hifi mode instead of the 5.1. selecting the mode will only produce sound from L/R nd sub. use this when your input are from tv or from two 2 channel source and if your ears prefer more fidelity than surround sound.

yes, i do wanted to know how to turn on that thing, since i already lost the instruction manual when i bought it, i doesnt know much about the enzo spec and info.
can someone scan the instruction book for our reference?
